What would/are people playing in tournaments this weekend? I have a PPTQ and have no idea how to prepare or what to play.
- Mono-red in a good spot right now?
- Jeskai Tokens with people cutting Blights for Ultimate Price?
- Some kind of control?
- Will Whip decks see a resurgence?
-- it doesn't care a ton about what the opponent is doing outside of Bile Blight. If you "go off" it's really just about counting blockers and ensuring damage.
-- you'll get a free win or two since people aren't very good at playing against the deck. You can also play plenty of mind games with sideboard and new cards. Dragonlord Ojutai or Thunderbreak Regent seems like good gimmicks post board. You still get Elspeth, Sun's Champion, Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker, Stormbreath Dragon, and/or Shaman of the Great Hunt. Generally, I like that you can "hide the ball".
-- Secure the Wastes
-- Tokens have plenty of game against RDW!

the thing I don't like about tokens is it's tough to beat Devotion decks with it and i expect a lot of Abzan so if Dromoka's Command is going to be played a lot tokens might not be great.
If you want to win play a deck that worked fine before dtk. If you want something new aggro seems to be good when new sets drop. I personally am working on a mono-red list using lots of tokenz, dash, and cheap creatures with impact tremors.
I am going to try turbo fog. I think everyone is going to focus on creatures with control showing up as well so my board will focus on that. With grind clock and myth realized in a creatureless main i think i will have a good shot at game one.
I considering Deathmist Raptors into my G/W Devotion list, or a Naya Token Descent of Dragons Deck, with lots of Mana Dorks, some dragons, Elspeth, and Token Generators, with the Finish Being Descent of Dragons and Dragon Tempest!
R/G aggro with Roast, cutting Shaman of the Great Hunt for Thunderbreak Regent and more Ashclouds for a better devotion matchup and to mitigate the damage from Ultimate Price.
Don't main deck any enchantments. It was fun while it lasted but if enchantments are going to dominate it makes Dromoka's Command a 4 of main deck giving Abzan all the value all day long to crush those decks and get a big advantage.
UWx control. I haven't decided if Jeskai or Esper is the best yet but it's probably Jeskai. Not sure exactly how you make the best deck just yet but I'm thinking Anger of the Gods might be crucial to staying alive early and having access to Mystic Monastery is just such good mana fixing.
Raptor (busted with whisperwood and mastery)
Duress (almost as good as TS without the bad burn matchup)
Ultimate Price (pretty OP against everything but abzan aggro)
RUG Sarkhan (finally a reason to play RUG other than knucks)

Yep everybody will be out with their poorly tuned Narset control decks. You can count on it.
