Ugin the Spirit Dragon - an 8 drop... in limited? seriously? - and for standard, you have to build the entire deck around this card, and it is too easy for him to simply be gone the following turn to removal.
Planeswalker Narset. = Looks awesome on paper but does NOT work in practice; Aggro decks can win turn 4 losing a single creature to a turn 3 removal spell. These colors do not have a "cheap sweep" such as Drown in Sorrow or Anger of the Gods or consistent turn 2 spot removal. If on curve, Aggro can lose a creature turn 3 to a counterspell, banishing light, or the like - and STILL kill on turn 4 - off curve, you are dead turn 5 short of an end hostilities. Couple that with a "janky" manabase ... not going to happen.
Heir is at least still decent after turn 2, but Seeker really isn't.
Have to disagree with this. Seeker seems innocent enough, but prowess means you can't ever really block him with a caryatid, and the lifegain is relevant. Even blocking him with a courser is risky. This turns him into a lightning rod for your removal, as you can't just let him go unchecked. That is removal you're not using on a Rabblemaster or Mentor. Seeker is a pesky little bastard, and I think he's actually highly underrated.
Not a good topdeck in the late game, but if Jeskai/RW has gone late it is probably losing anyway.

Caryatid doesn't see much play anymore and the lifegain is not very relevant against decks like WG Devotion and UB Control, which are a large portion of the field. Also, they can easily block him with Courser on turn 3 if you played a Mantis Rider or Rabblemaster precombat. And all of this is assuming you cast him on turn 2. You have much better things to cast on turn 3 and if you cast him on turn 4 he is completely outclassed by the time he can attack on turn 5.
Not a good topdeck in the late game, but if Jeskai/RW has gone late it is probably losing anyway.
It depends on what deck you are facing. If Jeskai or R/W goes late against the mirror, Jeskai Tokens, UW Heroic, Monored, or even Abzan Aggro, it isn't a guaranteed loss.
I don't agree with calling Ugin overrated. He clears everything and let's you build up his loyality by bolting your opponent each turn. Nitpicking that he can't exile colorless permanents is silly considering Vault is the only relevant colorless card I can think of in Standard. Yes the 8 mana is high but he is meant to be a late game finisher, Vault might do what Ugin does but Vault doesn't stick around after the job to pressure your opponent with 3 damage each turn.

Great Hart is so over hyped right now. It seems like every white deck in existence is bowing down to the glory of the of the magnificent elk. It's a powerful vanilla chump, but I'm sick of seeing it rampage across the planes like it owns the place.
Who am I kidding. I can't lie. Great Hart is, hoof on earth and antler in sky, the greatest card is standard right now. It's not hyped enough!
What deck doesn't have a 2-3 drop removal spell for this guy? I like this card a lot but recently, with the meta at where it is, I question it's worth.
Bile Blight
Drown in Sorrow
Lightning Strike
Magma Jet
Anger of the Gods
Abzan Charm (after a turn)
Hero's downfall
Stoke the flames
There is so much removal in a the game right now that kills things toughness 3 and lower. Yes there is the standard removal cards that hit a lot of things, but this is a 3 drop that mostly, casually dies by almost any removal without much effect.
Am I saying it's a bad card? No- that's the thing though. This card generates so much threat, that it is usually accompanied by other low toughness creatures. Making drown in sorrow and anger of the gods even more appealing. Not to mention if they have chump blockers or lifelinkers- (delver soulfayer, soulfire, seeker, etc.) You guarentee free life when you're trying to aggro. Without stoke to STOP attacks when you need it to- you're likely throwing away tokens, or multiples of Rabble.
I'm not saying its a bad card, just overrated. Brimaz is a better 3 drop right now, IMO. A little slower, but a lot stronger. Rabble isn't a spell either, so you don't get a Prowess trigger off of him. Again, not bad, just overrated. I've had a lot of success going to Soulfire, Seeker, and Butcher of the Horde as my creature 12.
Oh- and don't forget Ultimate price is coming back too.
I have to agree with most of this. Rabblemaster is certainly a good card, but I am running Monastery Mentor instead because unlike Rabblemaster, it can dodge Wild Slash, it can produce a token before Control decks can kill it at instant speed, its tokens can play defense if necessary, it is much stroger with Jeskai Charm, and it doesn't just suicide tokens pointlessly into Siege Rhinos and Coursers of Kruphix.
My pick for most overrated card would be Seeker of the Way. While it is good in some decks, it seems pretty bad in Jeskai. It is really only good if played on turn 2. On turn 3 you have better things to cast (Mantis Rider, Monastery Mentor, Goblin Rabblemaster, Brimaz) and if you cast it on turn 4 it would have been better to just cast a 4-drop like Ashcloud Phoenix since attacking for 3-4 damage and gaining some life on turn 5 isn't that amazing.
Cards like rabble, mentor, and brimaz arent awesome because theyre hard to kill. Theyre awesome because if you dont have the removal for it then its going to take over the.game

While this is true, Rabblemaster and Brimaz are stopped by any blockers since they have to suicide their 1/1 tokens (though Brimaz is partially resistant). This stops them from taking over the game a lot of the time. Mentor's tokens can grow to a size that can fight through blockers and they don't have to attack.
anyway my submission would have been Wingmate Roc as of a few weeks ago. gonna go with the Whisperwood / Mastery wombo combo as most overrated. which isn't even to say it's bad but fears of it overtaking the format are greatly exaggerated
Yes, it's a strong card, but it's overrated in the sense that if you watch any SCG or WOTC event, the commentary is always like, "If he resolves DTT, the game is over!" Then, often it isn't. It requires that you stay alive long enough to set up your graveyard and at least a semi-stable board state, it's often a 4-of that is bad in your opening hand, it needs double blue which makes it bad in multicolor decks that might also want to pull a counterspell and cast it, and a lot of time you're grabbing one playable card and another DTT which definitely gives you selection, but it's inefficient if you are under heavy pressure and need to spend your mana and cards on answers. Oh, and sometimes your silver bullet isn't in your top 7 cards and by playing DTT, you push out copies of other strong delve spells such as Tasigur and Murderous Cut.
I think it's a very good card under the right circumstances, but it's not amazing in standard like some Magic coverage might lead you to believe.

Ah, G/W Devotion or Manifest, or whatever you call it. The deck is certainly good, but I forsee several things happening if people try to pick it up to play it:
1. It is virtually unplayable for a good many in a tournament setting. We all saw what happened at the SCG opens. Going to time is not only possible, but likely for a good many players who can't keep a good pace going with the constantly "evolving" board state.
2. It's complicated as all living hell. Do I manifest, do I not, do turn it up or not, when do I activate X trigger or Y trigger, how much is too much for a Polukranos, etc and so forth. Most players will likely do very poorly with it.
Frankly, as strong as some of the interactions are, I just don't see it making a meaningful dent. It's slow to play, with a very long-term pay off, and gets wrecked by various common decks and archetypes.
While she is so hyped that no matter what she will be overrated, she certainly seems playable in Shaheen Soorani's Esper Control deck at the SCG Invitational this weekend.
I think Monastery Mentor is overrated, at least right now. Still not sure why he commands such a high pricetag.
I don't think Monastery Mentor is overrated it's just under used the power is there a good home for the card isn't. The potential is there that's what keeps the price up, if the card finds a good home it will go back up.

Perhaps once all the black token hate rotates out of Theros block they'll see more play.
From what I understand Monastery Mentor has made a impact in Vintage. It's still possible for it to find a home. The card is good, it just needs the right deck.
Both Narset, Transcendent Master and Sarkhan Unbroken are being overrated for standard. Narset has to either be played onto an almost-empty board or wait until you have removal up and the mana to cast her if you want her to be relevant, and Sarkhan dies to any random 2/2 if you deal with the dragon token.

But how can something be overrated when there has only been 1 weekend with these cards being legal? Give people time to try to integrate them into a deck before calling them overrated.

Well, Narset is clearly overrated because people are comparing her to Jace the Mind-Sculptor. No matter how good she is she will never be that good.
To be honest, i don't think narset is even close to being Jace, architect of thought good. She really just doesnt do much in a format like standard. I think sarkhan is the better of the two in this set.
