Greetings!
I have been playing UB control (started with PLA build, but switched over to Sullivan's Chevy list, only substituted the SB Silence the Believers with a Stain the Mind) for the last weeks at a what I feel is above average competitive FNM. I had positive, but not yet overwhelming results, and would like to get some opinions and ideas about optimizing for the meta.
Considering the last weeks, I expect the following decks (not counting my own):
-GR Monsters
-2 UB Control, at least one also on Ashiok plan.
-BUG Walkers
-mono-R aggro
-W devotion/heroic
-one unknown, could be Mardu Midrange/Control.
Any insights on how I might be able to squeeze a few additional percent chance out of the Deck would be appreciated.
Your meta is fairly mixed. The thing with UB is that the spell selections are limited - as of now there are very little good reactive spells. the best thing you can do is grind, grind and grind some more, especially the UB mirror. Everything comes down to skill. Also, remove the Stain the Mind because the card absolutely stinks.
My main deck is very anti midrange focused as was Sullivans. So my sideboard is basically for aggro and control. Most of my side comes in against control. I have 2 main silence the believers which is why its not in my side. However you don't play against much midrange so you could consider putting some of these cards into the main for example a main deck negate could be great.
The tricky one is Mardu control/midrange because it has such a strange variation of cards like rabblemaster and elsbeth and you never know if they will sideboard aggro or controling.
If you really want to make sure to win control mirrors then Grindclock is great but your meta still seems too varied.
