It almost seems like every other day he is in top decks and out of top decks.
Bouncing around between being a good card and an average one. I don't think he'll ever be a bad card, his raw power level is good on most board states.
Before rotation he was barely seen due to the oppression of Lifebane Zombie but now it's safe for the kitty king to come out and play.
So what decks does he fit in?
What experience do you have playing him?
I've seen him in Jeskai, Abzan and Mardu lists. All the wedges that can play white.
Matai Zatlkaj played him in the winning GP Stockholm deck, Steve Rubin played him in the SCG Columbus winning deck.
Is he good? Is he bad? Is he a staple or a passing fad?
One of the most interesting cards in standard right now. It is a large investment to play with multiple copies so I think it's worth discussion.
Seems eternally relegated to sweet high price sideboard tech. He's just insane in some matchups and kinda bad in others. You either board him in or out in most spots.

This is the problem. I don't want to pay $30 each for a card that is only good against some matchups and has to live in the sideboard for game 1.
He's either good all the time or there's no point in him.
The WW puts an extra strain on the mana base of the decks that do want to play him.
Good against decks with small creatures and just really bad against Courser and Rhino.
Seeing that I am the guy running Courser and Rhino, I am also running 2 main deck Brimaz. I think he's great in a variety of builds and I'm certainly happy to use him in Abzan midrange. I think he's fantastic with Sorin. If you Brimaz into Sorin against any red-based deck, they pretty much just die. It's actually kind of sad. Brimaz plays pretty well with your Whip or Herald as well. He also handles most damage-based removal. I just love it when my opponent points a Mardu Charm or a Stoke at Brimaz and I use Abzan Charm to toss a counter on him. (By the way, if you dump both counters on him, he can eat a Siege Rhino and live or attack into virtually anything.) Honestly, the only Abzan decks I think he's kinda bad in are the ones that run main deck Anafenza since you could be running something that taps.

That's the difference between kitchen table / fnm magic and competitive tournament magic as the best lists will use the best sideboard cards.
Almost good enough, but 1WW is a high price and the deck that wants him most are either Abzan which is already fighting for 1GG and 1BB with a greedy manabase. I had a mardu list that ran him, but WW turn 3 is also very rare that you more often than not only need Rabblemaster anyway.
The high price of this card means I don't get to test it extensively, but I feel at $30 he's not worth investing too much into jamming into a build.
I picked up 2 when he dropped below $20 briefly and use him out of the side board on my RW splash B mardu deck. I don't necessarily see him as a turn 3 play (especially since all my white sources come in tapped or pain me), but he's a great follow up after my Rabblemaster is immediately killed. Also not a terrible top deck in the right match up.
I play Abzan with 2 Brimaz in the main deck and 1 in the sideboard.
I've played against all the tier 1 and 2 decks, beaten them all sometimes, lost to them all sometimes.
In my opinion, Brimaz is one of the best cards in the deck. He's really never dead; he's not amazing against Abzan or Temur, but he's still relevant there. Using him to attack/block and then Bile Blighting the opponents creature has killed me several rhinos and surrack's. Beyond that, he's very good against Jeskai, Boss Sligh, and UB Control. With Sorin he's a life gain engine that keeps on growing.
The build I'm using can't quite fit a 3rd in the main board, but I've thought about trying it before. People also seem not to expect him from the main board in Abzan (I can't imagine why), and he's given me a few practically free wins.
Love him to pieces, I'll be sad when he rotates. I think he's worth the ~$20 price tag for how good he is.
he's great. Specially with some instant backup. Well , if the problem is abzan or big green creatures , you can always trick them. Like Ranulf said , you can bile blight them . You can use boon of erebos or any other R/W/B spell to pump him and kill them (devouring light , for example , cost only one with him in play) . I like him a lot.
Its very good car in Modern, when becomes a huge wall for all the agro decks, and always left a token on play for chumblock, on and empty board, its a finisher by itselfs
I play 3x on Mardu Midrange standard and its good vs jeskai, mardu, tokens decks, and bad vs abzan decks
