So my Blue Devotion deck has been on the back burner for awhile and I just recently decided to pick it up again. I really wanna splash a color in it (other than white) to make it more fun to play/ play against. At first I wanted to splash red for Izzet shenanigans (Dragonshifting Elemental tokens seems hilarious) but I wanted to get your guys opinions on fun things to do to Mono U Devotion. If there are any ideas that you have that wouldn't necessarily be standard legal, still let me know! I do plan on using it in standard but if there was a cool idea for modern I wouldn't be opposed. So any ideas are welcome! Thanks!
Well black is the easy splash, still allows you to cast nightviel spector.
thoughtsieze is a card and ashiok, nightmare weaver is interesting plus ultimate price and the like, probably stretching it too far to play hero's downfall. the problem is slowing the deck down too much just results in it getting destroyed by a number of stratgies its constant pressure followed by haymakers is what makes it work.
I think i'm gonna play around with that modern deck, I love artifacts! as for standerd, I can see how whatever I do is just gonna slow me down, maybe I'll splash some black for removal, that doesn't seem bad at all.
You could splash white for launch the fleets, which would double your tokens, with its strive being one colorless, you'd only need one white source on the board to cat it

I took U/b Devotion to a 7-3 finish at an SCG Open a couple months ago, although I have had nothing but terrible results since Journey into Nyx came out. I think I'm going to switch to straight blue for the foreseeable future. For posterity's sake, here's the list I ran pre-JOU:
The first thing that comes to my mind is "But... Mono U *is* still fun!"
Updates you may/may not want to try: Hypnotic Siren, Hall of Triumph, and maybe Kiora's Dismissal - the latter is very situational ). Though it may be "old news" Claustrophobia is surprisingly effective yet not as much played. If you're running Mutavaults a singleton Galerider Sliver is quite entertaining ( it's probably obvious, but: Mutavault is also a sliver! )
Probably the Modern deck with the most in common with Mono U in terms of play-style is Merfolk ( a lot of lists even lay Thassa, God of the Sea and Master of Waves ).
