I find the standard forum a little too heavy so here is a lighter topic.
What cards does your deck struggle to beat but aren't really common enough to need answers? Basically narrow hate cards or those curve ball cards people occasionally blindside you with.
I just can't beat Heilod, god of the sun.. no one plays him except people that can't afford the other gods and he crushes my deck everytime. I am happily kill their two and three drop creatures then bamn heliod and I am buried in 2/1 enchantment creatures for the rest of the game. I kind of wonder why no one is playing him but a little glad at the same time.
I managed to luckily win in three tough games, but a couple weeks back I played against a gentleman running 4-color midrange with main-deck Slaughter Games. He knew I was running Esper control, so in all three games I got my Sphinx's Revelations ripped out on turn 4. It was brutal.

I have to ask, what deck are you running such that Heliod is such an issue? Exile effects are fairly prevalent in Standard currently, and those Cleric tokens come out very slowly.

Formerly Angrypossum over at the now-defunct WotC forums.
I agree with Ashiok. Turn 3, its just so early to have to deal with a 5 toughness planeswalker. By the time i can finally attack it with any power, the fcker is ticked up to 7 or 9. It saves someone SO much life, it doesnt even need to do anything else.
Skylasher is amazing against Mono Blue, but most people I've played against using green-heavy decks don't play it, even in their sideboard.
I've blown out an R/G monsters deck before thanks to Skylasher. They swung with Mutavault on T2, flash in Skylasher for the block, and they scooped. Must have been an iffy hand, lol.
Fog, I was playing a White Weenie deck against Mono Green devotion and it was like turn 4 or 5, I drew Brave The Elements my eyes lit up I'm sending the team and he responded Fog. Didn't see that coming.
Grixis can't remove enchantments If I let it them get the devotion to be a creature to hit with silence the believers I'm probably dead to Brimaz or whatever they have used to turn him on. I am pretty sure I haven't beaten any god but for whatever reason Heliod feels the worst because of its drowning 2/1s feel the others have the decency to kill fast I can repeatedly kill the 2/1s but eventually I'll drown in card disadvantage.
I hope the Golgari cards get to seem more play now we have thier temple they are really good cards.

Illness in the Ranks? It's not overly horrible now with Elspeth, Pack Rat, and Pharika lurking around, too.
Illness has been suggested and I used to play staticaster but then switched to frostburn weird (I also removed Ral). ilness also hits Master of waves.
The question is it worth the slot in the sideboard?
Do you really see Heliod enough for it to matter?
Hmm starting to make me consider putting in staticaster again though. I forgot about it it does seem less narrow than illness since I can shoot white weenies but then do I want drown in sorrow instead?
i dont know about your meta but i see a lot of mutavault...
jk jk
seriously though i play mazes end fog so skullcrack and ember swallower really are a pain. R/G monsters is just still popular enough that it shows up occasionally

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it put an evasive creature in its deck over a narrow hate card.

If a card isn't worth your opponent removing, it's not worth putting in your deck.

I had no real answers, so I was forced to double Golgari Charm to kill it...

Havoc Festival can get really ugly for pretty much any deck, the problem is it always cuts both ways.

"A 2/1" isn't beating anyone. A permanent your deck can't remove that continuously creates 2/1s is a problem.
In Grixis colors, have you tried Izzet Staticaster? It holds off any number of x/1s as long as you can protect it (and keep Spears off the table).
Illness in the Ranks? It's not overly horrible now with Elspeth, Pack Rat, and Pharika lurking around, too.
