I am a casual MTG player that stopped collecting/following MTG after Onslaught block (so basically, once the facing of the cards changed, I stuck with whatever was current at the time).
My group of friends and I all play older rules and older cards (none of us play with any rules or cards past Onslaught block). That being said, we were casual gamers back in the day and are just now getting back into it. I think we just play with casual, standard rules. So my question is:
If I'm going to be posting questions about deck ideas or what not, where in these forums should I post them? What type does it sound like I play? Legacy? Vintage? Standard? I have no clue!
If I need to provide more info, let me know! Thanks in advance!
Standard at the moment is the RTR block, M14 and the Theros block (Journey into Nyx comes in next Friday). Modern is 8th edition to the present sets, excluding what's on the banned/restricted list. Legacy is pretty much all cards printed, minus what's on the banned/restricted list. Regardless of the format you play, as you said your group will be using casual Standard rules it may behoove you to brush up on the newer rules since you and your friends last played. I suggest starting here: http://media.wizards.com/images/magic/resources/rules/EN_MTGM14_PrintedRulebook_LR.pdf
