Hello everyone! I have a Naya midrange deck I'm currently piloting and I'm looking for opinions on the best 3 drop creature to play. Below are a few of the choices I have tried along the way. My current decks is below:
3x Fleecemane
2x Scavenging Ooze
4x Voice of Resurgence
3x Courser of Kruphix
3x Ghor-Clan Rampager
2x Polukranos
3x Archangel of Thune
4x Stormbreath Dragon
1x Xenagod
4x Boros Charm
2x Ajani, Caller of the Pride
4x Domri Rade
1x Garruk, Caller of Beasts
2x Forest
1x Plains
4x Sacred Foundry
4x Stomping Ground
4x Temple Garden
4x Temple of Abandon
4x Temple of Plenty
1x Temple of Triumph
Sideboard:
3x Chained to the Rocks
3x Mistcutter Hydra
3x Mizzium Mortars
2x Selesnya Charm
2x Sundering Growth
1x Chandra, Pyromaster
1x Garruk, Caller of Beasts
I started out with Brimaz and Loxodon Smiter. Brimaz is very good at requiring an immediate answer from the opponent and also helps to easily boost voice tokens. Smiter is decent against control and provides a larger body than most early creatures my opponent will play.
I then moved to Courser to help with Archangel interaction and to fuel the efficiency of my Domri activations and land drops. I don't like to reveal the cards that are on the top of my deck to a random opponent as it takes the "Surprise" factor out of my plays, but I'm still debating as to whether the upside of Courser is worth the trade-off?
So I'm just asking for your input on what you would run if you were to play my list?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Have you considered Boros Reckoner? That's the only other commanding 3 drop I can think of.
Hello there and thanks for the response!
I have definitely considered Boros Reckoner. Obviously, it's great with the Domri fight mechanic and is a great attacker and/or blocker. I'm just not sure how difficult it may be to cast with my current land mix.
After play testing with a friend Monday night (he was playing Boros burn), I feel I needed Sylvan Caryatid back in the deck to help with ramping into my threats. I also feel I need to have Mizzium Mortars main board again since I have very little ways to directly interact with removal.

Think youd be shocked how easy Reckoner is to cast in a 3 color deck, those dual mana costs are extremely forgiving. I Believe any combination of your mana can cast reckoner because every land can tap for white or red

That's true!
What would you take out of the list for 3 or 4 Boros Reckoner?

While your list is very tight with a lot of high value creatures, I think Fleecemane Lion is the cut to make. It's kind of a blow out when they destroy it in response to going monstrous, losing a creature and tapping out for that turn can lose you the game.
First. let's answer the main question: The best three-drop for Naya midrange depends on whether you are aggressive or not, and if you are aggressive it will further depend on whether you are running Spear of Heliod. If you are not aggressive, Courser is your man. It works well with Domri, defends you and gains you life. If you are aggressive and you run a ton of removal and/or Spear of Heliod, Brimaz is your man. If you are not running the support, Smiter is what you want. Smiter does not fear Thoughtseize, Ultimate Price, Domestication or countermagic, and it's easier to cast to boot. Brimaz needs help to be good, either from Spear or from a bevy of removal. Another decent choice here is Boon Satyr, but I think he is poorly positioned against Bile Blight and Searing Blood.
Some other things I noticed:
* Eight 5-drops with no acceleration? Gruul and Jund monsters will out-tempo you more often than not. Not only will you constantly have monsters stuck in your hand for Thoughtseize and Lifebane to steal, you will also be hard-pressed to find a chance to make Polukranos monstrous. Your Voice tokens will be small. Without Caryatid your mana-base is more fragile.
* I like Boros Charm/Ajani + Ghor-Clan. You should probably run more Ghor-Clan. Flesh // Blood could also be good here.
* Selesnya Charm might be a good option in the main because it cleanly deals with Desecration Demon, which brick-walls your everything unless you have Ghor-Clan.
* Maybe run Assemble the Legion in the board for the free win vs black decks.

I also agree with this. I have since removed the Fleeceman Lions from the deck. It's a great card but just not where I currently want to be. Thanks for the reply!
