You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
The top table breakdown shifted from Esper to Black at the end of the day. Apparently Monoblack players left a trail of Esper bodies on their path. Lol to all the pros confident that the matchup is good just because of Sphinx's Revelation. I thought a red splash for Sire of Insanity was necessary but seems that good old Thoughtseize is enough.
Mono blue tends to do that, especially with thassa on the field scrying away everything you don't want. if you get thassa down early you get to see double the cards and all the scrying really smoothes your draws. Plus on such a small curve, mono blue only needs so many lands before they can just start jamming permanents in your face.
No R/W Burn in top 16. Honestly, I'm not too surprised, because seeing the recent R/W Burn decklists, you can get burned (pun intended) for running only 4 creatures unless you're a control deck. And with the prevalence of G/R/x Monsters, I feel like Boros Reckoners are a 4-of mainboard. https://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/eventcoverage/gpphx14/welcome#1

Wait, great, Ben Lunquist on camera now.
EDIT: Black Oak of Odunos? @_@ Man, Round 1's are so fun to watch. But they're calling it 1/3 and a regenerator, which is Servant of Tymaret/
Apparently, when you blow up multiple lands with Ember Swallower, it does things.
