These two GPs will be the last ones for Standard for a while until GP Moscow on June 13-15, 2014. So I figured to just have one thread for both of them. Also, unlike the previous couple of GPs, we will not be having a Sealed Deck/Booster Draft event on the same weekend, so hopefully we won't have to deal with any issues of figuring out which stream is the actual stream for the Standard GP.

Keep in mind, there is about a 12 hour difference between Beijing and US East Coast time differences. So since it is 11am at East Coast means it's 11pm at Beijing.
Apparently, Wu Tong made top 16 with a mono green aggro aggro deck? I'd like to see that list, as well as the list of the Hidden Strings/Agent of Fates deck.
Yuuya Watanabe spent three of his first five turns... laying down a Staff of the Death Magus. That's just insane, considering he was playing against Boros Burn - when EVERYTHING in your deck (except some small number of lands) has a Healing Salve attached to it there's no way you'll get burned to death.
I think it was Owen Turtenwald who mentioned this in one of his recent articles at the end - Boros Burn does not beat Staff of the Death Magus, and GP Beijing really showed why. Insane (and honestly a little hilarious) tech right there.
Otherwise, pretty much what was expected of the metagame - Esper ruled last week, so naturally Boros Burn came out in full force. Burn and Mono Black each had 3 decks in the Top 8, as well as Esper Midrange and U/w Devotion.
Ken Yukuhiro ended up 21st, so I'm not sure how we'll get to see his decklist. Not sure if a deck like this can see sustained success, though, but it's definitely something to see. Apparently he blew a lot of people out with Boon of Erebos.

I have 3 Blind Obedience in the sideboard. It is more for creature heavy decks, but I am fine with sideboarding it in against mono-black decks if they run Staff. Every burn spell I play gets an added, "you gain 1 life and your opponent loses 1 life." Staff or no Staff, facing mono-black is a heavily favored matchup.
As expected Boros decks are out in force because of Esper, and obviously many would bring out their Mono Blacks and Orzhovs to exploit the situation. Surprised that only a handful brought UW. And Yuuya Watanabe, is the best Asian player EVER. Period.
Did the UB Heroic deck includes Artisan of Forms? Because I've been playing my own version of UB heroic for quite some time and it is like the best card in the deck. Sorry, I can't seem to find the deck build on the mothership.
Actually there is a team of 4 players that build this deck, and all of them managed to make day 2 of the GP.
Deckbuilder Wu Tong's comment:
"I think the pace of the metagame is set by decks like Mono Black devotion. The deck tends to break the pace and force my opponent to catch up with me. That is why I don't use Nykthos or Polukranos, as they slow the pace of the deck in favor of mono black."
I am looking for someone who wants to go to gp phoenix and would like me to pay the $40 entry fee. In return I would like the playmat. You may keep the promo card and other goodies. I will also pay for the shipping of the playmat to me.
Send me and email to kristin_c9@yahoo.com and let's work it out.

That is actually a very generous offer. Unfortunately, I love on the East Coast and Phoenix is too far away. Hope you'll find someone though.
Anyone know why there is such a big gap in Standard Grand Prix schedule? After Grand Prix Phoenix, the next one is Grand Prix Moscow, which will be over 2 months later.

Not sure where the top 16 decklists are, but Wizards might add them to their coverage on this link.
