I see we're in another event full of egregious mispronunciation of card names. Do the announcers have some kind of pact to do this? It reminds me of the "meow" bit in Super Troopers.
Anyone else think Chapin doesn't want to be there? Have watched these knuckleheads misread the effects of cards multiple times and miscalculate damage.
Oh Boros Charm as an answer for Courser of Kruphix? Thats special......Oh first strike on a reckoner for when domri makes it fight polukranos? Do you guys even know the rules? Do you guys even play standard? And did anyone notice Sullivan talks non-stop between matches?
I try to watch every grand prix and open that's televised, granted I've only been watching several weeks but this is by far the worst coverage I've ever seen.

I noticed that also. I think my favorite was Sullivan's "And he's probably going to cast another Brimaz this turn", and sounding generally suprised that he didn't. Considering that Brimaz is, you know, legendary.
This isn't even obscure cards, or bizarre rules corner cases. It's basic stuff on some of the most popular cards in the format.

Brimaz, King of Oreskos is not of the most popular cards in the format. He doesnt have a home besides being in UW-Control sideboards sometimes.
Also you guys should remember that there was a Pro Tour and the biggest constructed Grand Prix ever in the Modern format. They were probably a lot more involved in that instead of Standard so give these guys some break that they forgot how a few Standard cards work.
I like RW burn as a deck. So I am happy. Chandra's Phoenix is up there in my list of favourite cards.. it is just so well designed.
I think the most interesting thing about his version of the list is Fated conflagration actually being used.
I haven't watched all the matches but I've been playing RW burn for a couple weeks, and I think it is a warranted card because it is an instant Elspeth or BBoV killer and the following turn Stormbreath can come down....
I think the smartest thing about his list is the 24 lands. Most of the RW lists only run 22-23.
Burn is a strong deck. Has been for the past month. Since GP Melbourne many of us have been tweaking a vet strong list that out up a top 16 finish. This is more along the lines of Boros aggro but similar concept.
I hate people like you that post that. Burn is a fine deck, and losing to it isn't a bad thing just because some people are like "go play a real deck"
That deck that won is definitely more aggro than burn, I mean 14 creatures in a burn deck? Yeah that's halfway between burn and aggro. Was actually gathering cards to make a boros burn deck and now everyone is going to be watching out for it.....
Not the traditional Boros Burn list we've been seeing - more creatures, obviously (and no Satyr Firedancer shenanigans) - but it's nice to see something not called MBD, MUD, UWx Control or RG win! R/W Burn has been one of the more exciting matchups I've faced recently, every game feels like a race.
Also, did anyone other than me do a double take at someone named "Michael Phelps" ending up in Top 16? Man, I thought he was the swimmer....

More like a Barely Burn Boros deck than a Barely Boros Burn deck

The good thing is that Patrick Chapin is making commentary this week. He was amazing at Grand Prix Richmond.
Domray Raad?
Mogeese?
Kameetra?

Jesus Christ, learn how to pronounce ***** Chapin...

Guess it is a good metagame call but congrats to Burn of all decks
Cash? Credit? Gold? or Jace?

"RW burn takes down the tourny...Id have the same look as the guy that lost too. Burn....really...

Seriously, you just have to say "Dear God I hope I don't play against aggro" and keep it clenched tight for 10 rounds.

I'm not going to make any metagame call out of this tourny. It's just weird. Black cards are still super powerful.
