I don't understand.
Is the issue the discard effect? If so, why play anything when thoughtseize is around?
Is it the 3/1 intimidating body? Can gw not race that?
I'm not sure what the problem is here, perhaps you can expand on it a bit.
Edit: genini, if this was reddit, I would upvote that post to oblivion.

I always win game 1 racing rats, connections, and gary, but game 2 and 3 it's game, set, match because he takes out two guys. I guess Thoughtseize is a big part of this as well. It's probably more the deck than anything but Lifebane Zombie vs GW is Good Game.
Really, what you do is have a fat threat density that MBD is just going to have issues with. LBZ is a great card but it isn't unbeatable. Just pressure the board.
GW really suffers to lifebane. It makes me want to cry when lifebane steals Loxodon Smiter... that's an insanely awful matchup issue -- when even your strengths are meaningless.
LBZ is nice but hardly a back breaker. Tbh surprisingly I think he's better suited vs control matchups and mono U. Green ramps too fast for LBZ to reliably hit a creature. His peek and unblockable is better most of the time.

I run 4 4 4 4 of those cards. I run 36-37 threats counting the charms. Im not saying post sideboard Black is unbeatable but Lifebane Zombie is unless I draw the exact right amount of lands.
Tatebomb what do you mean green ramps past LBZ? He is a turn three play and if you understand my struggles the last thing i want to do is put mana dorks giving me less real threats.
It is a 2 for 1 under the condition that it is played before GW has played out its creatures. Hardly always. To spell it out for those who insist that it is a turn 3 play "Destroy 2 target permanents" and "Destroy a permanent, draw a card" are "always 2 for 1". Once the first 5 or so turns have passed, GW has pretty safely dumped their creatures out of their hand and will tend to usually play any drawn ones on the turn they are drawn. So from that point on, LBZ is just a 3/1 intimidate that lets you sneak a peek at the hand. It ceases to be a 2 for 1. Now, of course LBZ can be played on turn 3. But the chances of it actually getting drawn by turn 3 is roughly just 50/50.
Busted? lay off the hyperbole man, bad for critical thinking.
I don't really feel that's overstating it. None of the other hate cards are on his level at all. Fiendslayer simply walls aggro. Tidebinder is a tap bear with UU in its cost. Witchstalker lacks a cheesy decktype to slide into, and doesn't hose anything but unplayable draw go decks (real control just Verdicts it eventually, and it's not a particularly fast clock). Mindspaker is a solid playable, but hardly generating 2-for-1s.
3/1 Intimidate for 3 isn't playable on its own but is a much stronger body than say, Sin Collector, another powerful hate card. Having such a strong body for what it does really defines how good this is against decks running green and white creatures.

It doesn't deny you the ability to play things turns 1/2/3/4, but if it's played on curve it almost always takes SOMETHING. Then depending on game state, it either is evasive 3 power or ready to trade with Fleecemane Lion (or a Selesyna Charm, if you have it for +2/2). If you can't close out the game with your initial curve, it's literally back breaking. 4 Advent helps (and is the best thing you can do in G/W anyways) but that doesn't mean that Lifebane isn't problematic.
I never said that it isn't "problematic", just that you can beat it and that it has a short expiration date. As I said, the chance of playing it on the curve is realistically a little below 50% given that the black player has chosen to go first and that there are 4 LBZ there. Obviously, the chances will be lower if there are just 3 as there often are. My point is that half the time, it won't be there at the time when it is at its strongest. When it is there, it does serious work but to say that it always 2 for 1s you is a vast overestimation of the card.
And I wouldn't really say it "trades" with a boosting selesnya charm given the fact that that fleecemane would be hitting through for 4 damage in the process of that which isn't irrelevant.
The thing about Lifebane Zombie is that he is supposed to be very powerful against G/W. Interactions that can 2 for 1 your opponent are at the cornerstone of every good magic deck and he's no exception. It's the reason Electrolyze is one of the best cards in Modern. It's the reason Thragtusk dominated and it's the reason Lifebane Zombie creates problems for GW.

2-for-1s are fine if they cost the appropriate amount of Mana. Electrolyze wouldn't be even close to fair in Standard (Modern is a much stronger format). Thragtusk was a giant headache, but it still did cost 5 Mana (I blame Cavern of Souls mainly).
3 Mana 2-for-1s should be very restrictive; 3/1 Intimidate is just way too good for what this is doing. See Sin Collector for a good example of a (Modern playable) hate card that isn't overly pushed.
Regardless, it is what we have in Standard for now. Advent, Boon Satyr, a fast curve, Selesyna charm to blow thorugh/kill Demons, etc. This is how you beat Monoblack/Lifebanes, but it isn't foolproof. MonoBlue is actually the real predator of GW.
The GW aggro list with the lower curve with Experiment One and Chronicler of Heroes walks over them. Lower curves makes for a bad time for them (for now anyways).
Yes monoblue is harder for GW than monoblack but thats due to poor deckbuilding (ie not enough removal). Against lifebane zombie I lose because I chose the wrong colors.
I don't mind Lifebane Zombie. All it does is shows the opponent what I have in my hand. And I play RDW, so if after the first couple of turns, usually the opponent, if he/she is good, can probably deduce what I have up my sleeve anyways.

Which can also be solved with better deckbuilding. LBZ is good against GW. Don't just tell yourself that you're screwed. Figure out how to shift your play so it doesn't shaft you.

There wasn't Thoughtseize then though. I got to play with more than 2 cards.
Yes, because thoughtseize = discard to 2. GW is one of monoblack's harder matchups. You are either playing improperly or SBing wrong.
