Thoughtseize is fine. 2 life is a lot, and 4 life if you need to play it off a shock is huge.
The variable nature of your opponent's hand might mean you get a planeswalker, or it could be a graveyard enabling dork, which might help them as well.
Getting rid of TS will just let low-to-the-ground critter builds and other decks build up that much quicker. Get your arclights in grave faster, play your 3feri with impunity, drop your Rest in Peace and have at it.
You also need to make decisions with the card, it's not an auto-gimme. I remember when it was in Standard, I should have taken the monstrous Dragon (the one that sudden impacts on you) but instead I took a lower-curve thread, that was game.
Pioneer seems good now. I traded my Oko set for more staples and I'll be able to build a few fun decks like Golgari dredgeless and Sultai grindy control.
And hey, the dredgeless doesn't play Thoughtseize because Sticher's Supplier is vastly better, and I only run 1-2 TS in Sultai b/c I can't afford to lose more than 4 life to remove a threat.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
So just to put this out there; we have Chained To The Rocks (admittedly only really Playable as counter to an aggro t1 if going second and Boro’s). And to a far lesser extent Isolate and Blazing Hope.
And Red has various 1CMC 2 Damage Spells, and Galvanic Blast. And then stuff like Shivan Fire and Rending Volley. Rending Volley espacially.
And Black we have Fatal Push and Ulcerate. These 1CMC cards aren’t as good but the answers do exist
If you are a UW Control player for sure. Pioneer will turn into 3Feri vs. Thoughtseize eventually without UW control getting nerfed a bit. More bans will be needed in my opinion.
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
Yeah; I meant Galvanic Bombardment Prime. So we have 1CMC answers, they are not as good as Path/Bolt. But atleast in terms of Anti-Aggro, they function

No problem.
Chained to the Rocks is unfortunately so narrow I wouldn't count it. If the toughness hits 3 or 4 then you are pretty much out of luck with 1cmc removal in red mainboard as well.

Narrow because Enchantment/Sorcery Speed or White Cost requiring a Mountain? Only shocklands in pioneer. But if your in a third color shock + tango (the Akmonet Cycle). Through if Tango and Cycle were enemy, I suppose that be a better argument.
Honestly I hope those two cycles will be completed more than anything.
Can only be used in RW and RWx builds makes it narrow. I have played a lot of games and haven't had it played against me once. Again, Flame Slash would be welcome in the format and as mentioned before Oust or Condemn. They aren't top notch but would be a step above the 1cmc W garbo that is out there right now.

So one game out of a thousand, TS doesn't work as intended. Those are the ONLY two creatures that do that in the Pioneer format and your opponent obviously built the deck to run all 8 and get a "gotcha" moment. How did his/her deck fair against the rest of the field that night? Frankly that is a weak corner case example. I've said I'm okay with TS with a Teferi + Verdict ban or maybe even a Teferi + Dig ban. That is as much ground as I will cede.
I do appreciate the agree to disagree. I am probably coming off too harsh.
You're not too harsh, I don't think. It's more that every time a ban comes out you start throwing more cards you want banned, and every time you do I think about your post you made discussing the format being too expensive and how you wanted to discuss a pioneer format without rares/mythics, and it just makes me think you just want every expensive card removed from format. Maybe that's not your motivation, but it's hard for me to disconnect the two.
Some of the cards you choose don't make sense. Supreme Verdict boggles my mind. Would you say Wrath of God is broken in Pioneer? I would hope not, and adding another color of mana to it to add uncounterability doesn't make it that much worse, imo, except again control, and those match-ups need something because it's terrible to watch decks sit on spells until turn 14 where they can cast a *** with 3 counterspells as backup. Most aggro decks couldn't do anything to stop Day of Judgment, so Supreme Verdict is effectively the same there. It only effects control match-ups with the added text, but you want control toned down, anyways, and I don't think their sweeper is the pain point, it's their other cards.
We shouldn't follow WoTC's attempts at balancing by banning adjacent cards like Bridge from Below (although in this case Bridge has always been problematic) instead of banning Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis. If something needs to be banned, ban it, not the cards that are in a deck list with it. That skirts the actual problem and just invalidates other deck lists.
With decks like Twiddle Field and Gruul Pummeler being strong decks in Pioneer, a 4-mana Wrath is perfectly fine. It's only 1 less colored-mana than Kaya's Wrath, for a different upside.
Supreme Verdict cannot be countered. Far too easy to search for in blue as well, makes it too predictable as well. It makes it too strong for the format. Wrath of God CAN and WOULD be interacted with on occasion. It would be more fair. I would be fine with Verdict if there were a handfull of indestructible creatures in red, green, black and white at 1, 2 or 3 cmc. (The 3cmc gods don't count) But they aren't there so SV is too powerful in my book at this moment.
3Feri is too strong at this point although with the spoiling of the 4 cmc red sweeper that hits walkers as well, I may have to change my tune. Cruise and Dig will get banned at some point. Thoughtseize will dance a fine line. If it gets played too much it will eat a ban. Of course any new card spoiled could change this as I have said before. The new 4 cmc red sweeper is a good start. We need more like it.

Adding more low CMC indestructibility is a bad idea. Often times decks have a hard enough time dealing with Adanto Vanguard. We don't need more of that. Also, red, green, and black can't really interact with Wrath of God any differently than they could with Supreme Verdict. For instance, if you absolutely need a card to in your board to deal with either, Heroic Intervention deals with both the same way, as does Unbreakable Formation. I'm not sure what you can do against either as red, but that's kind of the idea. You aggro them down quick to get them in burn range, and then burn them out. Otherwise, play recursive threats. Arclight Phoenix, Flamewake Phoenix, Rekindling Phoenix, etc. don't care about Supreme Verdict. Learning to not overextend is a key part of getting better at playing aggro in Magic. Control also needs efficient board wipes, otherwise aggro would just run all over them, which they often do in a lot of formats, anyways.
I suppose this is about the end of my thoughts on the subject. TLDR; I think efficient board wipes are fine, and I'm okay with their being a sweeper that can't be countered by Spell Pierce or Stubborn Denial. You can still side in Unsubstantiate to postpone it.
T3feri has to go. Him into Supreme Verdict turn 4 locking you out of even playing an instant to save one or all of your creatures is WAY too strong. If we have to put up with Verdict, T3feri has to eat a ban.

I'm fine with 3feri leaving. I hope that combo isn't problematic, but it very well could be. I'd rather have Heliod banned out of those two, as Ballista is a fun card that's a key part of some strategies.

We can agree on these then. The combo will become a problem probably from day one. I'd prefer Heliod out of the two as well. I'll be so bold as to say we may see a "pre-ban" of this combo in Pioneer before it hits the playerbase. Degenerate infinite combos always get abused. I think this will play out that way. Guess we will see. In the meantime T3feri can die.

Speaking of new Heliod, I would think G Ramp which is already playing Walking Ballista would just slot this in and fix the manabase with a few W producing lands and have another finisher for the deck. I don't see anything good coming with this combo.

I'm gonna wait and see but the combo seems so good, maybe too good. Especially because it's so easy to set up
One of those needs to be banned NOW before they become a legal infinite combo in Pioneer. I would suggest Ballista (I am changing my mind here) although it will have some collateral damage in a small handful of decks. But it looks like the Wizards dunderheads are going to let this combo poison the format until the next B&R in February. Playing online is going to be ZERO fun for the next few weeks if they let this slip. They know it exists, they KNOW the playerbase will abuse it. Fix it NOW WotC!!!

Have you played against Heliod Ballista? Do you have some information we don't see here? The way I see it, Ballista is very fragile. Any removal/counterspell/hatepiece shuts this down! Even burn can play Skullcrack to stop this in some situations. Also, combo's like these is why we need Thoughtseize to be around. Not every deck can play Thoughtseize, but the existence of it will make peopl think twice about playing this deck. I'm excited to play MTGO pioneer leagues if I'm going to face 3 Heliod Ballista decks in each one.
I believe this combo is mostly just hype, and even if it isn't I would like stats to prove it's doing well before things get banned. It makes no sense to me to ban based on pure speculation.

The combo may be real, but I am far from certain it will be oppressive or format-warping in Pioneer. Heliod, Sun-Crowned may well be a problem in Modern with Spike Feeder but not necessarily with Walking Ballista.
The variable nature of your opponent's hand might mean you get a planeswalker, or it could be a graveyard enabling dork, which might help them as well.
