MTGOStrat.com and TeamDBC are hosting another month-long event aimed at finding deck builders who might have the next big Pauper deck ready to be unleashed at the competitive Daily Event level. We will be awarding some pretty sweet prizes, including a sealed online set of From the Vault: Twenty. Find out more details here:
JSiri84 and myself have rescheduled the Pauper Brewers Championship for October at our new home castingcommons.com. We postponed the event for a month to account for the release of Theros and the banning of Cloudpost and Temporal Fissure.

really looking forward to this, but Fissureless Familiars? lol
JustSin, I am glad you are excited about the Paupers Brewers Championship.
The draw and mana engine of the Familiar Storm deck is too powerful to be ignored. It seems like the deck will be the upper limit of fair combo. If Cloudpost was not banned, I think Mono Blue Fissureless Fissure Post would have still been too good. This is why I eventually came around on the banning of Cloudpost (after it had already been announced). Originally my belief was that only Temporal Fissure should have been banned.
Once we submit are we locked in to that exact 75?
I've got a couple of cards that might just be terrible (okay, the whole deck might be terrible, but that's another matter) and I definitely see myself tweaking over the next month.
From the FAQ:
Can I change my deck list after I have submitted it to the Pauper Brewers Championship?
Players are allowed to change their deck list after they have submitted it and it has received approval in the Pauper Brewers Championship. We expect players to do this as they learn more about their deck from playing Magic Online Daily Events. If you change your deck list we do ask you to keep a log of the changes if possible in the Discuss section of the deck list on DeckStats.net.
I am glad you both enjoyed the site. The site is less than a week old but stayed tuned for weekly articles and monthly events. We wanted to start the site in time for the bannings. I will be sure to keep posting our monthly events in this Pauper forum.
Definitely excited about the site and the event. Are you considering authors outside of the PBC? I would be interested in doing some sample pieces but I can guarantee I won't be able to commit to many DEs right now...
Also, how close is too close for different builds? I have two TortEx brews that are both tribal synergy takes on the basic concept. I am more likely to be entering with another deck anyway/if at all, but I'm curious to see where you draw the line.

Contraption is a new artifact type. There are currently no artifacts with this type. And there's no current game meaning of "assemble."

Let me know if you're looking for contributors. I've been thinking about getting into some Pauper writing myself and now is probably as good of a time as any. I'd also be more than willing to have my Goblins primer used in your optimal primers section (though with the bannings I am of course planning a fairly big update to it).

Pasqual,
Team DBC (Doing Battle with Commons) is the name of my Magic Online Clan. This name seems like a precursor to both the naming of our recent charity project, Battle for Charity and our website castingcommons.com. PBC is the abbreviation for upcoming current project, the Pauper Brewers Championship.
If you would like to discuss submitting sample pieces please email me at ehustle@castingcommons.com or message me on at E. Hustle on Magic Online. I will be happy to discuss details with you.
I am rather lenient when it comes to decklist submissions as long as they are not obvious copies. You may on your own created an already existing deck unintentionally. The best way to find out is to submit your deck for approval. Since we will be talking privately about other writing, I can also look at your lists directly.
I understand not being able to commit to playing in Daily Events. That is certainly not a requirement for our competition. Obviously do to the nature of the competion and our website I would expect you to play in some. Our website is dedicated to competitive Pauper player. The goal of the Pauper Brewers Championship is to encourage people to build, tune and compete with new decks in Daily Events. Everyone who writes for the site plays competitively.
Thank you for your interest and I look forward to talking to you.
Thanks, must have missed that before. And the website looks good
MTGNomad,
I am glad you like the website. Thank you for joining and submitting your deck for the Pauper Brewers Championship. I approved your decklist today (9/30).

Dromar the Banisher,
Thank you for expressing interest in writing the Goblins primer. I look forward to seeing your updated primer and I will be sure to check out your current one. I'm not disagreeing, I've said myself since people started discussing bans that someone was going to find a way to continue to abuse that mana engine, my concern with this particular deck is the win con
Thank you for joining and submitting your deck for the Pauper Brewers Championship. I approved your decklist yesterday (9/30). I was busy last night playing in the Pauper Daily Event and Cube Drafting but I noticed you, newplan and others were discussing the format and decks, which is great. I figured you would be a good addition to the "Team".

JustSin,
I know you aren't disagreeing. I have read your articles and your comments here and on Twitter. You just said "lol". Combo players always figure out a ways to play their decks even following a banning. Ministered_by_Angels has substituted Sage's Row Denizen, courtesy of the Tom the Scud, for Parastic Strix, which required that you have Nightscape Familiar in play and took nearly twice as much time to win with.
think the mana engine is the closest we'll come to combo these days for good or bad... really don't see freed taking off any more than tron would... that being said I'm looking to build/try that treasure hunt list because that's all kinds of awesome

Yeah! I will shoot you the article I'm working on later for your perusal. I love me some herpderp combo and, looking at the other PBC entrants, I only see a couple bad matchups which is exciting.
Also, if you already have the factlands this deck costs nothing which is always nice.
