So MTGGoldfish released a "top 10 Pauper cards from the new set" video. Some interesting choices. A lot of the madness cards were mentioned as a way to maybe give some steam to a fringe deck. There were some interesting off the beaten path choices that were very much a "No guarantee but it has playtest potential and is worth a second look" options discussed.

Lol let's hope! Honestly, I am really hoping they use EMA to help settle some of the print differences between Paper and MTGO to create a more cohesive format. In the mean time Daze really helps lower the cost of the format while making Mono-U Delver more annoying to play against as you will start to see the number of people running Daze increase. No more mindlessly launching threats into the tapped out Delver player.

Oh, you think the losers' bracket is your ally, but you merely adopted the scrub tier. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t 4-0 an FNM until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but an extra pack to sell for store credit!
I am starting to agree on Delver. It's kind of out of hand. It's already got the most meta share according to MTG Goldfish and that's post Faerie ban. It's very oppressive to play against. I love Delver but I think it's the card that is the next card that would need a ban which makes me sad.
Man dat 'goose doh. Makes G/B/x graveyard decks better. Not sure if TortEx decks or Delve want this though. I could see a deck running this + Moldgraf Scavenger + Vessel of Nascency. I've got. Jund and Abzan deck I'm trying out with Moldgraf right now and they are pretty solid Tier 1.5/2. They might want this. Abzan has Thraben Investigator though but Jund could use a solid 1 drop I guess. Not sure if this is better than anything else in that deck though. I also play a G/B Delve deck that runs Mandrils and Angler and Moldgraf. It fills the 'yard fast enough that maintain threshold even through Delve that this could be good there too.

Wildfire Emissary! - that card was so good back in the day but I'm not sure it's even playable now. The comparison to Guardian of the Guildpact is not flattering.
EDIT: also Emperor Crocodile which just screams "why don't you go ahead and 2-for-1 yourself" to me.

Guardian of the Guild pact is usually better against decks like Mono-B or whatever. I guess the one redeeming factor of Emissary is that its got a self-pump that Guardian doesn't have so that makes it more dangerous without help.
I think it works okay with Nimble Mongoose since Shroud make it hard to remove and most sweepers can't kill it after you achieve Threshold. That makes it slightly more playable. It could work out in a new style Mono-G Stompy build maybe?

I've toyed around with decks that use Wild Growth and Utopia Sprawl to ramp and incidentally power up Aura Gnarlid. Going to have to rebuild them with Enchantress as Gnarlids 5 through 8.

I think the ones I'm most excited about are the White cards, Warde, and Dragon Egg. I think Elite Vanguard is something that white weenie has needed for a while. Humble punishes blocks. Rally is so awesome for a Boros or Naya list (Kird Ape anybody?)

When Chittering Host enters the battlefield, other creatures you control get +1/+0 and Menace until the end of turn.
5/6
This doesn't seem bad. A 5/6 Haste Menace that buffs your team AND gives them evasion is actually insane. The pay off is there but there are some hoops to jump through. They honestly aren't that bad though because the more expensive one let's you get the other one back from the graveyard. Early you get a 2/1 to block/attack as needed. Late you get a decent creature for the cmc that fetches back its counterpart. When played together they turn into a fatty that makes your team a nightmare. It could be good for a G/B, R/B mid-range style deck.
Cemetery Recruitment seems like some awesome tribal support. I could even see it being kind of good in a Mono-B Suicide Aggro deck because it plays so many zombies. Sometimes the problem with that deck is that Sign in Blood doesn't get you a creature. Recruitment guarantees at least 1 (sort of). If zombie tribal becomes a thing this might be the part of that deck. It does trigger on a Gary. That might be something.

I think Cemetery Recruitment is just worse than Ghoulcaller's Chant though. Like sure you can return a non-Zombie with Recruitment but then the card is just a worse Disentomb so you're only going to play it in a dedicated Zombies deck. And once you're playing a dedicated Zombies deck why not use the card that gets you back two things rather than one thing and a random card from your library?
Actually, the way recruitment is worded you can't even return Nameless Inversion with it (it returns a "creature card" rather than a "zombie card") so it's even less flexible than Ghoulcaller's Chant in the Zombie deck.
Recruitment is easier to get value from than Chant (you don't always have 2 zombs in your graveyard), but definitely not enough so to be worth an extra colorless.
The first Emerge card looks playable, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are more.

Yeah, I had originally overlooked it because I didn't realize the sacrificed creatures cmc discounted the Emerge cost. I think if the format has a 3cmc creature that benefits from being upgraded to a 3/4 flyer, Wretched Gryff could see play. The body is fine, drawing is always good, the mana cost can be manageable. Seems fine.

There's also lots of room for gimmicky stuff. Ninja of the Deep Hours, Spire Golem, etc. Make up the 2-mana difference on the Mulldrifter body by trading it for another card and a 3/4!

Honestly Mono-U was the first thing I thought of. Its tricky though. Golem is awesome with Ninja because its so easy to recast. Its great counterspells because its so cheap. However, it trades up to Gryff extremely well but Delver doesn't want more creatures. You don't want to cut Delver, Spellstutter, Ninja, or Miscreant. For the reasons I listed you don't want to cut Golem so then do you split or is the variance of having a Gryff when you want a Golem too costly? If you want Gryff over Golem why not just play Mulldrifter? The body isn't as good but Delver wins the tempo/attrition game anyway which Mulldrifter is better at than Golem.
Does this help push a Warden of the Evos Isle deck? I think that's where we really want something like this. Less a counter based Delver deck and more a value based evasion deck?

Scavenger is the best delirium card and it's still kind of terrible; really disappointed how that turned out.
