Looks like we're starting to see a couple of new downgrades for Pauper in Balduvian Horde and Pillage.
Balduvian Horde looks pretty good for a Madness build, but for a former rare (albeit an old rare) it does seem a bit lackluster without any keywords to help it out. Will this see play? Maybe this opens up a chance for a traditional Red Deck Wins build?
Pillage looks pretty dang good! Unless I'm mistaken this is the cheapest common that hits lands or artifacts. With Tron and Affinity being a presence then this could be a good SB choice to allow more room in you 75 for other options.
I haven't gotten into Pauper yet, but Pillage encourages me. I'm thinking about making some terrible monored land-destruction deck out of nostalgia for Urza's/Masques Standard.
Sideboard? Pillage is a maindeckable answer to artifacts! I love it! I've always thought they should have made a common, and here we are! Mono-Red LD, here we come!
Balduvian Horde is ok. A 5/5 for 4 is still decent stats, but the random discard is pretty discouraging. Not sure if it's going to be playable. It kind of reminds me of Emperor Crocodile, which sees no play. 4 mana might be too much for a 5/5...
Also, Pyro/hydro reprint is great! They're paying attention to Pauper, clearly!
I think Horde is uncommon. The symbol is pretty messy, so I can't tell for sure. Anyways Gathan Raiders is better as it costs 1 less, can be cast using only generic mana, and you choose what to discard, on top of the corner case of catching unprepared opponents off guard making them lose a creature or damage based removal spell to it and whatnot.
On a different note, I have good news for you folks who have been clamoring for a rarity drop on Undead Gladiator for ages in the various downgrade threads. Card will probably make an impact, as it's card selection and inevitability rolled into one cheap package for Black based control decks. Cycle it early or when you don't cast spells EOT, then discard lands or useless spells to bring it back to beat face as a finisher late game. At 3 power it's a respectable clock and it also doesn't have the dreaded "can't block" clause these kind of creatures have nowadays, so it will also trade with all X/3s for days. It also has an advantage over Gurmag Angler in that it doesn't warp your deck construction around it, so you can play 4-of and some Flashback spells and call it a day. Which doesn't mean Angler itself doesn't pair well with it, since it will be feeding the yard.

It's definitely a common. There's a C by the card number in the bottom left corner. But the Rarity symbol is pretty hard to tell the difference between common and uncommon.
On another note, we have Savannah Lions at a common now. Not a big surprise since Elite Vanguard got the downgrade too. Vanguard is probably the superior choice since it has a better creature type for tribal stuff, but White Weenie has more efficient one drops to choose from.
I think that there are alotmorepowerfulthingsyoucouldbedoing rather than casting vanilla bears, or else the Suicide Black deck stacked of 2/1s would've already taken off long ago.
Both are cool for casual though, will provide some nice redundancy.
EDIT: Also noticed that the Gladiator is uncommon by looking at the U next to the collector's number. There goes my hype

I think those are Elemental Blasts there, sir. And they're still uncommon, sadly.

They are the Blasts (which are still awesome) but they are Pauper legal because they were printed as Commons in the past. So we get more choices for copies. The new artwork is pretty awesome!
Oops, my bad on the elemental blasts! I always confuse them because they're so similar. Good for Paper players, not so great for MTGO Pauper players...
RELENTLESS RATS! Wow! That's quite literally a whole archetype by itself that just entered Pauper. This should make things interesting!
Meanwhile, goblin decks now have the option of going even wider with Hordeling Outburst on common. Also, not a downshift, but really happy with the reprint of Ash Barrens, even at uncommon. It will hopefully push the price back down to reasonable levels. It already dropped a dollar since it was announced.
Crimson Mage looks decent, but I'm more excited by the prospect of all the [Insert Color] Mage cycle getting downgrades.
Borrowing 100,000 Arrows looks interesting for Turbo Fog, but if Keep Watch hasn't made it into those lists then I suppose Arrows won't.
Loyal Sentry dropped from Rare to Common and looks interesting, but I'm not sure where it will find a home. It's a pretty decent one drop for White Weenie and can have interesting shenanigans in a blink deck.
Court Hussar digs deeper than Sea Gate Oracle, but it can't interact as well with Ghostly Flicker so I'm not sure it will make an impact.
Primal Clay looks okay since it can be what you need it to, but is that worth it for 4 mana?
I was getting excited when I saw Zoetic Cavern pop up, but unfortunately it's still Uncommon. I feel a design like that would be the closest thing to a Manland Pauper could get.
We still have a little more to go, but I'm pretty hopeful for some more goodies!
frenzied goblin and savannah lions are the only other downgrades that I haven't seen discussed here. All in all we got some ok stuff but nothing completely game breaking in my opinion. Some decent cube upgrades most likely.
On another note, we have Savannah Lions at a common now. Not a big surprise since Elite Vanguard got the downgrade too. Vanguard is probably the superior choice since it has a better creature type for tribal stuff, but White Weenie has more efficient one drops to choose from.
I definitely agree that Hordeling Outburst and Pillage will be pretty big! Red has gotten a lot of love in the set!
Where was frenzied goblin printed at common? According to gatherer it has been an uncommon 3 times and that is it.
Sorry for missing the lions discussion, I just glanced over the thread while at work, but it is a welcome addition to the format. Outburst though is definitely the one I am most excited about. 100% auto include in every pauper cube.
I did a quick glance on Cardkingdom for Frenzied Goblin and it showed the Speed vs. Cunning copy was Common, but I just checked again and that was a typo on their part since the card image still shows Uncommon. My bad! Frenzied Goblin looks like a stronger Intimidator Initiate since you can use it's ability if you have no cards to play, but Initiate can activate multiple times.
So true! This is the most love for Red I have ever seen! it's beautiful!
Loyal Sentry is gonna be great in flicker decks. Being able to block and flicker and kill anything is great. If not, it's basically like a White creature with Deathtouch only when it blocks, which isn't exciting.
I remember really liking Court Hussar many years ago. I feel like there was a combo involving it, but I can't remember.
Jackal Pup has made waves in formats before. Will it be good enough for Pauper?
Hordeling Outburst will see lots of play. Three bodies for three mana in a single card is huge.

Probably sun titan? It's really good because it turns the etb and attack triggers into find whatever you are looking for. otherwise maybe you are thinking of Crypt Champion.
