Starting time 3.30 pm EDT now!
Tribal played only 3 rounds the last 2 weeks, summer is 'drawing' players already, while we had an increase of players and did 4 rounds. So, many players preferred an earlier start. In case tribal will do 4 rounds, we may delay start 15 min if necessary. Usally that's enough for 4 rounds anyway, the 45min to 1 h buffer was for other activites like eating or deck tuning.

Maybe we can do 4PM EDT starting June 18th?
Tribal had four rounds today.
Although Tribal had 4 rounds, those were finished before our start. The finals were still going, but finished 10 min later. If necessary, I would have allowed a later start of the match(es) with the participants of the tribal finals, or if the 4th tribal round were still running the whole event would have started 15 min later.
In fact, the delays resulted from the late entries! ALWAYS, when the starting time changes some players miss that. So I think another change would be the worst, right now.
I'm sure next week or the week after, everybody will have noticed the change and adjusted to it. I expect in the long run an advantage of the earlier time. For the vast majority of US players a starting time of 3.30 or 4.30pm EDT makes no difference, while for many Europeans it makes a difference if the event ends at midnight or 1 am (CET=Central European Time), respectively 3am in Ukraine( Hello deonmag! :-), especially in Summer when the sun raises at 3.30am. The only reason for starting 1h later in Summer(daylight time) was the 1h later start of tribal apocalypse. I expect structurally less players( and rounds) in Tribal during the next weeks, beside the usual 'Summer decrease' there is the European football championship running. But in September, when player numbers will increase again, a starting time of 4pm seems reasonable and preferable to 4.30 pm EDT.
I hope to join you in the next event. I have missed you guys!
I have been in prison for the last 8 months, so I have not played any Magic Online at all.
I did, however, play a LOT of the Legacy format in jail, at least 5 hours every day using paper proxies. Legacy is now my most-played format, but I still think that s100 is the best format in terms of sheer enjoyment.
I now need to do some homework by reading all the new cards that I have missed during the last 8 months. Hopefully there are some nice s100 gems there.
I needed some time to think about my reaction, if I should ignore your 'confession', and then decided to just being honest, as you have been open and frankly about your reason of absence, too : What happened? What did you do, for going into jail? In which country?
I know it's pretty easy to go into jail in US, if you have no money for a lawyer, for example.
What experiences did you make, how was the life in prison? Playing Magic 5h, every day, sounds more like a holiday camp than a hard time in a high-security facility:-), but, I can imagine not all aspects and experiences were as nice.
I'm pretty sure all readers of your post had more or less the same questions.
However, welcome back Michelle, and don't worry , you don't have to answer all those questions to play again on Saturday
If you think, my questions are indiscreet or tactless, just ignore them.
My crime was something very trivial - it is not even a crime in many enlightened western countries, and nor should it be. However, my country, like many countries in Asia, does not see things that way and encroaches too much on harmless personal freedoms. They will change the laws one day, but unfortunately I will probably be dead by that time. I can't speak much about the details, because my flatmate and case partner is still in jail.
About life in jail, it was not a holiday camp. More like a hellhole. I played Legacy all day, but it was just me sitting on a mattress in the cell room (with 7 other people in the cell), sitting cross-legged with paper proxies. I had to control both decks which were battling. Although I see both hands, I try to be fair and make plays based on what I WOULD have done with the knowledge that each "player" is deemed to know. I do not, for example, cast a Cabal Therapy, and then say "Hmmmm let's see. There is a Green Sun's Zenith in my opponent's hand, so I will choose that one!!". I plan to write an article on my jail experience and post it in due course.
Thanks ML_Berlin for hosting the last tournament. It was enjoyable.
Can I make one suggestion? Can we save our decks in the LEGACY folder rather than the CLASSIC folder? The reason is that the Legacy ban list is a LOT closer to the ban list which we use in the Chainsaw Massacre.
Why do I ask this? Because it will be easier to attract new players (and have games fire during the week) if we can simply host a match in the LEGACY Just for Fun queue. Currently, we must go to Vintage, and then explain to people that the ban list is available on this forum. It is just too hard for new people who might wish to play s100 matches. Given that Wizards no longer supports this format (a very unfortunate decision), I recommend we make it as easy as possible for newcomers to join us.
To give an example, I opened an s100 game in the Just for Fun queue in VINTAGE, and my opponent joined me with a powerful deck which had Time Walk, Ancestral Visions, Lotus etc, and it was not worth even playing because he smashed me before I could do anything. In contrast, I would be happy to play an opponent who uses a Legacy legal s100 deck.
I am not suggesting that the Chainsaw bannings change. For Chainsaw Massacre tournaments, nothing would change (we just use the Legacy Ban list, and then make a few specific Chainsaw bannings, for example Stoneforge Mystic).

This was brought up earlier in the thread. It would effectively ban several cards that are currently allowed including Mishra's workshop, Bazaar of Baghdad, Frantic Search, Mental Misstep, Hermit Druid and Earthcraft.

While Hermit druid wasnt on the ban list officially, because of a coding error or something, it could not be played in the old 100 singleton format towards the end (if you added it MTGo said it was banned). I had made a bug report about that as far as I remember.

On another topic, may I ask what the Chainsaw Community thinks of the card BRIBERY. Is it time for this card to be finally banned in our Chainsaw format? I personally think it is too powerful for our format, but I would love to know what others think.
Why am I raising this issue? Well, I recently planeswalked to Zendikar, and whilst there I had an interview with a Stoneforge Mystic. She said to me "Michelle, we Stoneforge Mystics are all banned by ML_Berlin. No chainsaw massacres for us! How is that fair, when Bribery is allowed!! Please pass on my grievance to him when you next see him!"

Bribery is extremely important given the potential for cheating in this format. The next best searchers, Praetor's Grasp, Acquire, Hide/Seek and Thada Adel are not exactly must-plays.
Oh I wish Wizards did not remove support for s100. Now all Wizards needs to do is to do nothing, and our format will die a slow death. The flavor text on the original Plow Under perfectly summarises the situation (the Druid's saying).
Thankfully we have this small community to keep it alive a little longer, which is why I am very grateful to ML_Berlin and to MTGCardMarket for keeping our Chainsaw Massacre alive for a little longer.

It's actually grown since the Big birthday bash thanks to MtgoCardMarket
I agree that Bribery, while it can be very unfun to play against, is just good to have around to help prevent cheating. It's not unbeatable, either- there are ways to get your creature back (e.g. Homeward Path) or you can simply structure your deck in a way that Bribery is no good against you (for one don't put big bomb creatures in your aggro decks - I don't include Wurmcoil Engine there for precisely that reason). I don't think it's comparable to Stoneforge Mystic at all since that card just lets you have turn 3 Batterskull every time you open with it whereas Bribery is much more dependent on what your opponent is playing.

I did not ban Stoneforge Mystic ! This infamous allegations have to stop!
We still use the last official ban list, just 4 cards have been voted out, and 4 others in, by our community. Stoneforge Mystic was not among those.

I understand your feelings about WotC, but you just lag behind the development of the last 3-4 months ( or maybe 8:-) . I fought my depression about WotC's decision and took action.
Please read the older posts in this forum, I was very concerned about the situation and feared the same as you and therefore started a 'media offensive'. Thanks to the help of RobertZdar we have a facebook page, now. Gumgod helped me to record some matches, so we can be found in youtube. A new player told me ,that he found us on reddit via a list of free stuff in MTGO. Since April, slowly but steadily new players widened out our player base. So, beside the special event and the big extra prizes, which definitely raised interest and maybe gave the impulse for some players to try this 'new' format, I think the 'media offensive' was very important, too. I inspired the players to mention our event and add our forum link in social media posts and youtube comments, and the fact that we appear in a reddit list by some 3rd party is a first clue that it worked. The second one is that many, if not most, of the newcomers were no insiders from the PREs, respectively the 'gatherling universe'!
S100 or Highlander was, and still is a popular format in the 'paper world' and we just must be visible or at least detectable for new MTGO players.
And last but not least, we had 15 players last week! In summer!
Two,three weeks before, we had more players than Tribal Apocalypse on the same day!
I hosted Heirloom for 2 years, as you may know, and playing Tribal Apocalypse for 4 years now, but I never saw an increase of event participants during the summer!
All this makes me very optimistic about the future of our format, much more than ever before since WotC had removed the official filter from MTGO.
Speaking of the ban list, do we plan on updating it on a regular basis? I think at least twice a year we should take a look at it and propose changes to vote on.
Yes, as I said before, we will check again for the banlist and make a new poll. But I would suggest to wait for this at least until start of September, when usually more players are back, from holidays or other summer activities.
However, of course everybody can start to 'collect ideas' ( but keep in mind: If it's not broken, don't fix it) or make notes about cards to be banned or unbanned.
Like Michelle's suggestion of Bribery, that you discussed here already. Strong card, maybe banworthy, but strong reasons to not ban it.
The last events all started 3.40 or 3.45 pm due the last tribal round. Many players prefer a short break between the two events and some just want a definite starting time. I hear you
Gatherling has only 30 min steps, so 4pm EDT will be our starting time from now on.
There are many interesting posts worth reading, we had some good discussions this year, and as a result I changed many things after player input, like the event structure: We do not play double or single elimination anymore..
