Any help is appreciated, playtesting it right now :).
Also, thoughts on power sink as a two of in sidebaord against control decks? seems decent
Matchups:
Mono Black (Record 6-1):
This matchup is very simple. Counter their good spells and out card advantage them. Evoking mulldrifter then casting exhume is so overpowered lol.
Cloud Post (Record 1-4):
Problem atm. They have more mana than you which means they win counter wars. Maybe remove the cycle lands for post and make it UB post?
It plays fairly nicely against most decks. I think that I would change out the two Think Twice for Deep Analysis and I also think that the Sea Sprites should be Weatherseed Faeries for the UR Post match up.
Also, you'll need to figure something out for the Delver blue matchup. That match up is pretty much why I stopped trying to play UB. There's no hoser for that matchup. The best I could do was run Vapor Snags. Disfigures might be better, but it's hard to get turn 1 Swamp if you want to have mana for counterspells.
Think im going to try 4x Chittering rats (or lillianas scepter due to flying) and a couple of ninjas in place of 1x echoing decay, 1x mana leak, 2x think twice, and a couple of other cards. Not sure, think it might be trying to do too much if i do that
I've just jumped into this archetype as well, mainly because I really like the card Mystical Teachings. I was working on an Esper version, and I think that color combination is really strong in the Pauper meta. My UB version still needs a LOT of revision, but here is where I'm at with it.
Cloudpost naturally has few win conditions, but I think I went even lighter here. I started with Spire Monitor, who is decent (but costly). Sentinels are fragile but cheaper. They may get replaced soon. The benefit is that these cards are tutorable with Mystical Teachings. A lot of decks are packing more creature removal than I have creatures
Mono Black is hard because I have 4x Doom Blade main, so that may need to change. The UR version seems good due to Rolling Thunder as a win condition, but black's removal is far and away better than red's. I am gonna test the hell outta this, because I'm sure my list is rough around the edges so far.
How hard do you guys find casting the double colored spells like Counterspell? Seems like a stretch before turn 4 with the mana bases we have in pauper.
