The other day, I was trying to think of ideas for a Magic Variant. I came up with the idea for "Anti-Commander". It is played like normal commander, with one exception: treat the deck as though the commander is every color other than its actual color. Since you wouldn't be able to play your commander, the commander now costs its CMC in generic mana.
Very interesting since it trades off having a general with more colors (which is presumably more powerful in and of itself) be easy to cast with having fewer colors to use for your deck. As mentioned, eldrazi commanders might get a tad strong though.
