I feel like this card is obviously powerfull enough to warrant a deck warped around his new abilities. Lets take at them first:
+1: This should never miss. Infact if it does he doesn't belong in the deck. The first ability is very powerfull but it demands a commitment to artifacts. Are you ok with that? If so we go to ability two.
-1: I see this as the reason to play this card. Tezzeret demands artifacts to play with, which means your opponents will have all their artifact removal online. This is bad. Darksteel is good. Make that pos Darksteel Myr a 5/5. Make Darksteel Axe a 5/5. Who needs Phylaxitive Lich?
-4: This is hardly irrelivant as I see it as a beautiful way to chain multiple Tezzerets. With only 4 artifacts left (darksteel cough) when you ultimate your still making a 16 point life swing.
I tried to make the deck focus on his first two abilities since they can be very overwhelming. We already know how good it is to attack for 4 on turn four with Koth. Dropping Tezz and attacking for 5 brings us a long way from Juzam Djinn.
Precursor + Twisted Image combo is present here. But so is a new interaction with Mimic Vat. If your 5/5 Tumble Magnet dies, you can now imprint it on the Vat. While this doesn't seem that extreme at first, you may note that this means imprinting Mindslaver.
Tumble Magnet is amazing with Tezzeret since he protects him the turn you play him but also becomes a 5/5 (obviously). The big deal is that nothing smaller than a 5/5 will attack into the magnet, yet anything bigger just gets tapped. Stupid.
This is a rough list. I know I wanted Mimic Vat for the possibility of imprinting non artifact creatures. It plays best with black removal cards and lost of artifacts to overload artifact removal.
There are so many more ways to build this deck. You can max out the Twisted Image combo to ensure you get it, play Grand Architect, you can even use him to turn small artifacts with infect into.. 5/5's with Infect. He's in the colors of proliferate and just keeps digging for more infect guys. I'm positive there's a UB Tezzeret Proliferate/Infect list.
The only thing I really like about Darksteel Myr is that he blocks "Mountain" and can't be pingged. What I hate about him is the fact that he is yet another 1 toughness critter that dies to contagion clasp. I dispise Glimmerpoint Stag in this format, but I really, really have begun to HATE contagion clasp. It is SO format warping, and they keep printing these x/1 creature that are freeking good except.. oh they die to clasp entering the BF.
It's almost worth running some Halt Order. I find the ultimate on Tez underwhelming compared to the +1/-1 action. In some ways it's like Elspeth, but her ultimate is at least threatening.
I'm not sure I agree w/ Precursor Golem in the above build. I would at least test a more traditional package with Moriok Replica and Skinrender.
There is a U/B infect list and yes, he would fit right in. ichorclaw myr as a 5/5 is sick.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
I'm not a fan of the indestructible route. Those cards are bad on their own and they get hit by Revoke Existence even if you do draw them and Tez together, plus we've got Into the Core entering the format. Personally I like going in the Grand Architect direction. The mono-blue version is already a really good deck, a black splash for Tez and maybe Memoricide in the board seems pretty solid. Just replace Silver Myr with Sphere of the Suns and add Darkslick Shores and you'll be good to go. Tez and Treasure Mage will provide the deck with more consistent sources of card advantage then Precursor Golem + Twisted Image.
I don't know exactly, but I think shaping Mono Blue Control/Architect to UB could be a better way. You dont need the Darksteel Myr as a 5/5 Indestructible, when you can push up a Silver Myr on Turn 3, attack Turn 4 and dig into a Precursor Golem (or something like that).
Also Black would give you Grasp of Darkness, which is good against Architects, Sphinxes (obv just without Metalcraft), Precursor Golems, and the even bigger creatures when you play it during combat.
Additionaly Tezzeret's Ultimate leeches ten life with a battlesphere and even a lifeleech of 4-6 could be okay.
I literally came up with this in like 3 minutes, its mostly a Control Toolbox attached to an Artifact-Aggro shell with some mana accel via Grand Architect to compensate for the lack of early game creature presence.
I thought Signal Pest might be cool to see because of his Battle Cry, Sorin is in there because I like him, have him, and I like the Mindslaver effect without it being attached to an artifact (get owned, Smash and all your brethren), Flashfreeze for obvious reasons, and Sphere of the SUns if I feel like I'm in a mana dry spell.
Here's the strange thing: he's still playing stoic rebuttal and no mana leak. Whaaa? Aside from the dead kittens, I think that Tezz plays best in a poison build like thewhetherman's deck. I think the original build relying on a component of indestructability is a fairly janky means of victory. If you end up with a darksteel myr and no tezz, it's a pretty loose scenario.
I just got back into the game about two months ago. I attended my first FNM two weeks ago with a deck I thought was awesome. It wasn't..... I started in Revised and played until Homelands, I quit until Onslaught, then quit again until Lorwyn, then quit until Scars. With all the new mechanics and the crazy red decks that kill you with lands I was blown away. I went back two days ago with a revamped type 2 elf deck that I thought was good and I only won 1 round 2-1 and I was saved by a Blunt the Assault in the third game and overan her to win. I have been running tests on decks utilizing Tezz and this is what I have had some success with in the testing against the best deck I think I have (the green type 2 elf). I any feedback will be helpful to me.
My first test run, my opening had was a darkslick shores, 2 mox opal, 1 ornithopter, 1 wurmcoil, and 1 grand architect. I drew an island played the darkslice, ornithopter, and mpth moxes and I cast grand architect on the first turn. Second turn I tapped a blue and turned my ornithopter blue and tapped it for two, both moxes for a total of four and my two land to cast Wurmcoil Engine. By the fourth turn I had two precursor golems out with tokens and I cast Tezz. it was crazy.

Considering Block decks are Standard legal, I think we should really consider a way to save the poor kittens from extinction ASAP.
