@ darkmindtone: 26 land? is that because mutavaults hinder your double and triple white spells? i'm thinking about running kithkin at a PTQ so i want to make the best build possible.

Yea, the Mutavaults are a little clunky and get in the way of things like turn 3 Procession, pumping Figure, and pumping Stillmoon. Two is probably good enough since you still want that 3rd man to activate Windbrisk on occasion, but any more is probably excessive.
There were at least 3 kithkin decks in the nats PTQ, I think 2 faerie decks, me and fred played PV's Merfolk deck and not sure about the 8th...probably faeries. it looked like this:
Faeries beats 5c Folk
5c Folk beats Kithkin
Kithkin beats Faeries
Kithkin beats (mystery deck)
Yeah, Philly was highly concentrated with Red, Doran, and Kithkin, but none of those made a big splash. Ian Duke played against the BW deck in the top 8 (he played Faeries) and got absolutely annihilated game 1, I'm really interested to see that BW list.
PTQ in Vilnius, 08-09
1. Kithkin
2. Kithkin
3-4 Doran and GB Elves.
Only one Faeries player showed up, and missed the top4.

Pretty sure Craig Krempels won this ptq, but not positive. How did you get he new 5cc decklist? I still haven't seen it :-/.
I assure you that the deck I was playing was most likely not the one you have in mind.
EDIT: The BW player was in my car. The maindeck looked something like 4 Stillmoon Cavs, 4 Deathbringer Liege, 4 Forge Tender, 4 Knight of Meadowgrain, 4 Blossom, 4 Spectral Procession, and some amount of Thoughtseize, Profane Command, Nameless Inversion, and probably another card. I'm not 100% on this, though.
Semifinals were:
Faeries vs. Kithkin (Faeries wins)
Faeries vs. 5CC (Faeries wins)
So a Faeries mirror decided the finals. I won over Craig Kremples in a three game set fraught with mulligans on both sides. In game three I drew out of my mulligan to five while his kept him on one land.
Among the successful innovations of the tournament were the 5CC decks, one sporting Chameleon Colossus grade fatties and the other an expanded Mannequin package including Overbeing of Myth and Glen Elendra Archmage along with maindeck Plumeveil. The BW tokens deck was an original design that used Thoughtseize, Spectral Precession, Bitterblossom and Stillmoon Cavalier to roll over Faeries.
The meta, in rough order of popularity, was B/G > Kithkin > Red > Faeries. Stillmoon Cavalier and Figure of Destiny were the hot cards. Stillmoons were selling for $20 cash, if you were lucky enough to find them.
Congrats Ian, this is your Round 6 opponent, Tom Nugent. Great job beating Kremples, although I'm less than exciting to have him playing in ptqs around here in the future :).
And yea, the 5C Control lists that me and Adam Levitt, the other 5C player played, were both very good although really different. Asher Hecht also lost last round playing for Top 8, who I believe was playing the 5C list that Steve Sadin and Paul Cheon were battling with in Denver.
there were 99 people and the meta was about 1/3 faeries, 1/3 kithkin, 1/4 RDW and the rest was 5 color control and other tier 2 decks and bad decks.
i didnt know who won it becasue we had to leave on our 4 hour drave back but from what i saw figure of destiny was rocking house in both RDW and kithkin vs faeries yesterday.
oh and stillmoon cavalier was all over the place and sold out at like 10 at the dealers, i advise anyone playing white or black to get a set of them ASAP
@Spencer: Check revolution boards, it's not Chapin's 5c.
Congrats Tom on making T8. I skipped philly out of laziness, but I'm def going to be in ny this weekend. Also, the BW deck is really cool, someone showed me it at nats.
PTQ in Seoul was inundated it seemed with Kithkin. I don't know what ended up winning but my friend played 5 Kithkin decks and 1 Necroskitter deck. I played a Doran deck, 2 Fae and 2 RDW variants. Almost every game around me had at least 1 Kithkin deck involved in it.
Turns out the Anaheim PTQ Top 8 had 4x Kithkin, only 1x Faeries (w/Firespout), 1x Assassins, 1x Little Kid, and 1x Elementals. I lost to the Elementals player, who came in 2nd to the Kithkin deck that one.

Kithkin is everywhere now.
having the red deck with no board, no hand, rip the burn spell off the top was relatively annoying in t8.. i'm almost certain i would have won if i got past the red deck... kithkin is a manageable matchup... and the mirror? I think i'm like 16-4 vs mirror... bleh.. oh well.. maryland.. then if necessary.. nj over the next 2 wkends... bleh...

So I take it this is Morgan? Yeah, rough beats. Not lke Faeries is expected to beat red, though.
