This deck is designed as a foil to the rise of Aggro in the PTQ. You splice and splice, preventing threats from coming near you, and especially stopping the Jitte. Vortex, Glow, Haze, Puppetry, and Visit all help to keep you at 20 or higher, while you slowly mill them with Dampen Thought or beat them with a fatstick. Judgment, of course, wipes the board clean for good times, and Kirin turns all your Arcanes into Akroma's Vengeance s.. The MD is pretty much locked-in by now. I think these are the best cards to have there.
The SB is a bit undecided, though. I'm boarding 6+ things for WW. Prison, Threads, and sometimes Purity. Kirin is awesome for blowing up 8.5s and Jittes, turning your arcanes into ***s. I might MD it. Ghostly Prison severely stalls WW and Aggro Black. Threads is great for stealing their creatures, including the inmitable 8.5 Tails. Hikari is a card I put in to face control, usually B/x decks which feature a rather large amount of removal. Hisoka's Defiance is there to fight Cranials, but I might drop it. Quiet Purity comes in vs. Tallow WW. Cloudhoof Kirin comes in versus control decks, just in case.
Remember. This deck is a metagame deck versus aggro. Don't comment about how bad its Gifts, etc., matchups are. It is designed to take down aggro and deal with the lower-quality control matchup.
Other comments are appreciated. I'm thinking of taking this deck to the PTQ.
ever looked on http://www.wizards.com it gives u lots of info on magic amd cards so if u havnt looked hav a look and it will tell u allmost anything about magic the gathering
In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police who investigate the crimes; and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories.
I think it is good against aggro, but the only successful splice deck i have seen ran 4 murmurs from beyond because the deck just needs so much fuel to not die out in the lategame.
If you want to do well against aggro AND control, you might want to try black/ blue, since that would give you rend flesh and hideous laughter as arcane removal, and it has good anti control cards also. I dont no but its something to consider.

Hopefully i will have a swelling of pride sometime soon..........
If you dont get that, look at my username, and if you still dont get it, than your to young to have an account on here without your parents permission, YOU ARE A BAD LITTLE CHILD!!!!
I put in Murmurs originally, but I ended up replacing it with Peer, which is significantly cheaper. Murmurs is nice, but I have no space for it.
I don't need any anti-control. Like I said, this is an aggro foil. The matchup versus control isn't downright terrible, but it's not quite as good.
Though I'm not sure how black would help that. The arcanes it has are much more expensive, and its matchup versus WW wouldn't be as good.

Nice deck however if you are really concerned with aggro run Celestial Kirin. Beign able to cast Peer through Depth's and nukign all there creatures is great. It is also strogn vs Black Aggro.
Like I said, I considered putting Celestial in MD. But currently milling is my primary win condition, which is why I keep Cloudhoof in.

I'll agree with SRdude arguments on using the Celestial one. You can substitude it for the myojin. There are already four Final Judgement and the C.Kirin could be more controlling. Even the blue kirin is only as good as the arcanes that you play and at most all arcanes in your deck are cmc 2, meaning that you will most likely will take out 2 cards per spell (6 with dampen tought), wich could be land. With the C.Kirin you could take with the Dampen tought, for example, even the Hand of Cruelty (Kirins effect is not targeted) and Raving Oni-slave. In my opinion Celestial is better than Cloudhoof, and I know that the cloudhoof is a really great card having using it since the prerelease. Just give it a try and check how that comes out and let us know, you have a very interesting deck and aggro having a good run right now it could be very interesting to see that match-up
Good luck and have fun with that

"Those who endure in the face of suffering, those whose faith shines long in evil days, they shall see salvation." -Song of All, canto 904
Good point. The main reason I included Myojin is that he's a win condition that's pretty much impervious to removal. Unfortunately, I won't be able to test seriously for the next two weeks or so, so I'll have to make do on theory and solitaire. I'll switch it with Kirin in the board.
This deck is also rather inexpensive, Judgment being the only majorly expensive card (gotta get my hands on 4x. >.<). I feel this is an advantage.
By the way, does anyone have an opinion on the Reverence vs. Ghostly Prison self-argument I had?

Yeah. I probably was going to end up getting Prisons anyway because they're not as expensive to buy.
The only weakness I see is that it still lets Jitte sneak by it...though I suppose that's what Candles' Glow and Consuming Vortex splicing is for.
EDIT: Terashi's Grasp taken out for Quiet Purity. Grasp was just an overcosted sorcery-speed Purity that gained life for me against WW. The fact that it destroys Jitte doesn't really matter in this deck, while destroying a random Indomitable Will can be just as effective for less. I thought about Nikko-Onna, but it has the same cost as Grasp for a lesser effect and a creature that will rarely have an effect on the game. And let's face it, I'm probably not going to get the chance to reuse it more than perhaps twice.
EDIT 2: -1 Final Judgment, -1 Cloudhoof Kirin, +2 Celestial Kirin to the MD. The Kirin is plain awesome versus WW and not bad versus Black, because it makes Jittes dead.
