Welcome to MTGSalvation Block Situations! Each week, I'll post a topic pertaining to Block that the users of MTGSalvation can discuss. This isn't a contest and there aren't necessarily any right or wrong answers (Although some answers may be better then others ;)), just a good discussion.
Thinking up situations is much harder then it looks! Please PM any Block Constructed situations you have to me and they will (More then likely) be used.
Personally, I don't like these types of decks that have nothing to really do before turn 4, but despite that I can't keep this hand. You have 2 turns to draw a land, of which almost 50% of your deck qualifies for... so roughly 50% of the time you'll have no turn 2 play if you're on the play, which is unacceptable.
However, if you're on the draw, this hand is set up for complete manafixing as well as rediculous acceleration, access to removal, and a Loxodon Hierarch 75% of the time starting on your second turn. This, really, just depends on what type of deck your opponent is running. Were he running Ghost Husk or some Zoo variant, it's your call. However, a Mana Leak (EDIT: oops, block play... call it Spell Snare) on your farseek is death, forcing you to draw into a third land before you can play ANYTHING. Were I on the draw, depending on my mood and superstitious thoughts I may keep it against any non-control (or non-ponza) deck, but against control (or any deck packing land destruction) I'd throw it back and draw 6.
My big question is this: why the hell is this deck not running 4 Birds of Paradise? You're running 12 shocklands so don't even begin to say it's a budget deck... I'd strongly question the deck's design before I started to play with the deck.

Or even Llanowar Elves or Utopia Spraws? Without 1 mana accelorators, I wouldn't risk keeping that on the play or the draw. Unless I was playing against a really slow deck..
We live in a country were ~50% of the populace believe public schooling is a socialist conspiracy and that being called Einstein is an insult. We could try and fix it, but unfortunately the other 50% don't believe in euthanasia.

Because LE is not in Rav block.
But for the hand. Sadly, I rarely don't like keeping 1 land hands in a deck that has a curve as high as that. Since this is RAV block, not too worried about the first 3 turns anyhow, I would probably keep in both situations.
