If MTG is a part of your life, the formats are like relationships:
Standard/Block = The on-again, off-again holiday fling
Modern/Vintage/Legacy = Stable, homely. A ***** after absence/misreading
Limited/Sealed = Heart breaking free spirit
Commander/Cube = Agreeable, needy and expensive
Pauper/Peasant = Sweet, kind, practical, but shy and boring
I think it's intresting. But i'd play supreme verdict and gaze of granite. In addition to more evictions.

I really got a kick out his deck tech when he claimed that he would run more muggings if he could and that sphinx's revelation was the worst card in his deck.

That makes sense though. All his lands come into play tapped so revelation isn't as good here as other decks. He only runs 2 so he can't chain into them. Plus he's not running that many instants so half the time he's tapping out for his sorcery removal.
I bet the majority of his losses are to aggro decks, so mugging is the card he wants the most.
i'm sure he losses to aggro, but that doesn't warrant main deck mugging.
I'd rather main deck riot control over mugging. (but of course mugging in the sideboard)

The guy said on the deck tech he didn't want to face mono red. And he was very happy that there was only 4% mono red and 40+% sphinx's revelation decks.

I realize his claims were 100% true, I just found it funny when mugging hasn't seen much constructed play until his deck and meanwhile sphinx's revelation is format defining.

It may be format defining, but in his deck, it is not very good as other ppl have mentioned, due to the large number of gates in the deck. The deck has to run multiples of each gate, because as was mentioned on pro tour coverage, if an opponent's nightveil specter hits and takes a gate, you have lost your only win con.
As far as mugging, it kills all the weenie critters that were commonplace in the pro tour. I think they are perfectly justified in this deck.
Does anyone have a decklist for the Maze's end deck that's seeing some play at the PT?
