To be fair they also removed the ability to pop out and resize the graveyard before reinstituting that functionality. So good for them for not quite breaking everything forever. Plus Leagues are totally back right guys?
According to their blog post, the reason they didn't have any limited MOCS monthlys originally, was because they were expecting them to be really popular and the event would fill up.
Thats right people, they didn't provide something because they knew that people would really want it.
I couldn't even make this up, I mean, its great that the option is going to be there, but the reasoning is so laughable.
On a side note, I found it funny when I came here to check this thread, the top ad banner is a giant Hearthstone ad.
I have some pauper wish lists that are in as decks. These are probably from v3. When I get the cards I try to remove them from the wish lists. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't. Though I have not tried this in months as I haven't really kept up with the program in a while. Also they pushed a lot of flashback phantom drafts which would obviously not allow me to draft any missing cards. Thankfully those phantom flashback drafts failed and are going away for now but sadly it wasn't in time for the Mirodin ones.
Whatever they did during this weeks downtime has completely screwed up deckbuilding. It is nearly impossible to actually pile cards properly as cards will not move where you put them, unless you jump through like 4 hoops to move one card where you want it to go. It also makes drafting way harder as you cannot seperate out your creatures non-creature spells into the piles you want while you are drafting. It sucks.

I have to say the flashback drafts next year actually look reasonable. 100PP, 10tix or boosters + 2 tix, not phantom so you keep the cards, prizes are 200pp, 100pp, 50pp, 50pp, so you can directly use winnings in another draft or save them for the next week/later in the year.
Its a shockingly reasonable way to give people the opportunity to play with old sets without having the boosters prices all over the place or leaving people with packs left over worth nothing after each week.
However they could have made the drafts nix tix, and while it likely wouldn't have been cheaper to do that, there is no way that a single person should ever enter with the 3 booster + 2 tix option. Ever.
C2015 decks are actually quite good and solid starting points for new players of that format. So OBVIOUSLY they are not available to purchase. This would really bother me if I hadn't quit MTGO years ago.

I used MTGO on WinXP about a year ago. I had close to 4GB of RAM. It was slow even when I wasn't running anything else. It was barely playable. After I upgraded to Windows 7 it was a lot faster.
Another amusing bug: Spawnsire of Ulamog second ability costs 2 to activate instead of 20. Whoever coded that card seriously just put a '2' next to a '0', told himself "Well, at least it looks like a '20'," and washed his hands of it.
When they get something right I wish they would just leave it alone. I have used two screens since April 16'. I has helped me immensely during duels. I Moved over my chat and Card Preview windows to the second screen thus allowing me to be able to use most of my main screen for the duel field. And after I had played a match with those two windows on my second screen they stayed there whenever I started another match. That was nice. FINALLY something is where I left it the next time I would use it on MTGO. But since the last update of May 16'(I think it was the last) every time I start a new match I have to move them over EACH and EVERY time. What a pain. I would probably quit MTGO if I had started within the last 2 years or so, but I started with an original v1 Beta account and I have too much time/effort/cards(money)invested now. The best MTGO ever was was when Leaping Lizard was still running it. When WOTC took over sometime after the roll-out of v2.5 it has been a slow slide downhill ever since. I really miss some of the old features like "seeing" avatars sitting at tables waiting for someone to come and play. Nothing was cooler then have the "Royal Assassin" avatar waiting for a game with his feet kicked up on a table and cleaning his fingernails with his dagger. It is a shame that the digital team does not have the vision to put that kind of style into the game anymore. (End Rant).
I experience the issue of the card preview window not staying where it was in the last game. I hope they fix it at some point soon. I see streamers also experience this.
I am so angry that I have so many decks online that cost hundreds of dollars but the new interface is so terrible I dont even want to play on it. Today was the first time I went back to try the new version in about a year. I was hoping things were fixed or back to the old client after so many people hated it, this was not the case. Layout still annoying, game sounds not nearly as engaging, gameplay seemed staccato and boring for some reason compared to the past. I didnt like that I cant change the playmat and everything is grey and drab. I dont like searching for new games and with the removal of classic seeing vintage, freeform, and legacy or whatever they call it, makes three formats to play older cards, and creates confusion, or even anger when you redesign an old classic deck only to find out once you get to a certain card you can no longer use it in that format. Not being able to just play a newer deck in an older format without recreating it as that format specifically in your saved decks is also annoying. Everything about it is terrible. Ive played magic the gathering since 5th grade, and am now 34 years old and have given up this favorite past time due to Wizards refusing to just listen to the community and keep the old version. This is the biggest piss off for me in the last 5 years besides outrageous child support and a stupid woman. What the hell are you guys thinking not listening to your own customer base? I cant even stand talking about it anymore, it is a disgrace.
Word^^^
I've actually sort of gotten used to the new client, and reluctantly accepted the status quo. But I understand that many people still refuse to play it. If you could choose to play any of the previous versions I would switch in a heartbeat and I think the majority of the old mtgo player base would as well. They would also regain thousands of players who now have quit the game for good.
Has anyone else noticed that MTGO is playing/reacting slower for about the last month or so? I mean everything from loading to changing tabs to in game button pushes. Even exiting the program seems to take longer. I know it's not my internet because I can pull up my web browser and it is just as fast a normal.

I have not played since Eternal Masters or whatever the last masters was. May play for the M11 or Scars flash backs coming up so I will try and keep an eye on it.
I've played in a few drafts the past couple of days and haven't noticed anything wrong.
Did you check your system? Maybe there's something in the event logs. Also, if you have a hardware problem (such as memory going bad), that would slow things down. I recently had to re-seat some memory for my desktop because it wasn't registering.
On the topic of running out of memory, do note that Magic Online requires more memory the larger your collection is. I had to use a different computer to empty my account of old cards after drafting the hell out of Zendikar (not that Zen did it alone, it was just the straw that broke the camel's back) and getting a scary Out of Memory error that closed the program every time I logged on. Now I see that the program takes up significantly less memory and I don't get the error anymore.
Well, half of my decks just vanished. ******* dozens of commander decks, also some in legacy and modern.

The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!

I guess their marketing department wasn't happy about these no name online grinders winning the MOCS...
Can't wait for PVDDR or Brian Kibler to win the MOCS after playing 2 tournaments on it all year!

I still do it, with no problems at all.
Not sure. I would say probably yes, assuming you are not running any applications like browsers, etc. which are huge memory hogs.
Fun sending 4 Reality Smashers and Thought-Knot Seers at your opponent on your opening turn.
