Now I don't mean playing against your friends on Magic Online. I mean you and your friends all gathering around one computer and going into a draft. One persons controlling draft but the other people are offering up advice on picks and plays.
I was having a debate with a friend of mine on whether or not this is cheating. I was of the opinion that it is, I mean its obviously cheating to tell your friend to make a certain play in paper magic, but then magic online isn't paper magic.
I might add that I think when people do this the intent isn't to necessarily gain any advantage (though they are), its just that playing MODO is more fun with friends.
a lot of streamers do it all the time and I'm assuming several people beyond that do as well
I personally am of a mind that it shouldn't be done, sure there are disadvantages like diverging opinions and wasted time, but if you were at a shop drafting you wouldn't be sitting there with 1-2 friends over your shoulder the whole time lol

I've never done it, but honestly, I don't really care if others do. The point of the game is to have fun, and drafting with your friends is one way to do so without really harming anyone else. In real life it would be incredibly disruptive to everyone else, and there's the issue of them possibly peeking at other players' picks.
I've entered drafts with friends where each is on there own computer. If I am doing it so someone can watch either in person or on stream it is usually so I can help them learn the format, getting someone else's pick advice is usually a recipe for disaster.

like I said it's not something I'm going to be stomping my foot and holding my breath over and I'm aware people do it, but I'm not a fan of the idea

Even better is when you both are on your laptops in separate events (of course) right next to each other laughing and talking.
