thats great to see there evolving with modern technology and development. the demo in that video looks awesome and i hope they dont delay the release to far out for chat functionality. that seems to be a big discussion point on all the articles I have seen and read about the next version of mtgo.
Looks fantastic. My MTGO account has been dormant for a while, due to a combination of redemption shenanigans (it's off! it's on... it's off again! it's gone!) and ugly interface that reduces the play experience to one long squint.
They'll probably need some re-writing/updating, but sending browser queries has to be a million times easier than deciphering the packets the old client sent out.
I have no problems with Version 3 as it is right now, but the demo that showed the little "pop-up" mana symbols for when you have mana in your pool, is just awesome. Far as screen appearance of the cards, it all looks the same between the 2 to me.
The "notepad" function seems pretty useless to me right now. I have no problem remembering what card was just played 5 minutes or even 30 minutes ago. Hopefully, that will be a removable box.

Even pros have notebooks handy at all times to take notes. It is an important part of the game at high level play.
FINALLY MTGO will be getting a polished interface. Man I can't wait till this comes out.

Two things:
1) yes, you can slide the "notepad" section further right which ultimately hides it from view
I'm happy to see them doing this. Actually thought that something web based would be better for MTGO instead of a large Windows only application. I think this is a great way to go with it and will make a lot of players happy in the end.
What features of MTGO would you expect to not pay for? I personally am NOT a big fan of web apps because most of them are poorly designed and coded such that they freeze browser windows and make it unreasonable to alt-tab et. Silverlight is an amazing tool. I have no idea who MS stole it from because I don't believe they could code something so flawless on thier own, but I'm glad they are using it.
I didn't know it was compatible with mac (I guess they'll have to use IE) plus ca la meme chose and all, but that is a cool way to get mac users in on this deal.
I have more concerns about internet security and hackability with a web based client, but that's because I don't know much about security at that level.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.

Um, they mentioned something about this on one of the recent community updates, but other than that I am not so sure. Google may show some new stuff, but I have not taken the time to do so, as I don't really care when/if this comes out.
Don't backseat moderate. If you you see something wrong, use the report button and move on.
I had messaged him on Youtube asking about new information and he had told me that they were not going to do it. Though if you look around the WOTC MTGO section of there forums you'll find some threads that seem to have new updates like this LINK HERE.

Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
But I hadn't had enough experience with Silverlight so far to have an opinion on it. I do like the idea of MTGO probably becoming OS-free, though.
It looks good, at least. I only hope that this time the finished product will be, well, finished.

Mine runs fine but my memory stays maxed as is and gets cluttered if I run much at all along with MODO.
I'd like to know now if I need to plan on a new computer
But yeah, that does look pretty sweet.

Brain Freeze is the coolest card ever printed.
When this launches I'll give it a go.
It SHOULD lower Sys-Reqs.
We will see however.
I dont see why not.
They will likely need to be completely redesigned.

Like what, cards? Don't see where you are going here.
given the the length of talk we always got when V3 was "on it's way", i'd say this is probably at least 1-2 years off.
Have we had news on this since the initial announcement?
Don't necro.
