I love me some Bloodbraid Elf, but this Jund deck doesn't live and die on just what you're able to hit with cascade. If that's the case, I'm better off playing a Zoo deck with the Elf.
Oh, I totally agree that Jeff is a horrible person. I actually avoid most of his videos, but he's playing Reid's list in a new meta.
I will admit though, he played very tight and I actually did find the stream helpful.
As for Velvs question about grim lavamanacer----that card is a god damn bomb. It looks really innocent, but that card is an absolute nightmare against small creature decks. I can't tell you how many times that card alone has decimated decks. It's often better than an Anger of the Gods. I think 1x Grim should always be in a Jund's 75, it's easily one of the best cards Jund has access to. If Abzan had access to an identical card in its color, it would be such a game changer.
Last Hope is also 3 mana, so she's slower, especially on the draw. She also does -1, which is a bigger deal than it sounds. Try landing a grim and a Last Hope against an Elves deck, it's absolutely hysterical.
Hi, blessed by the recent BBE unban I've decided to take off some rust from the old Jund, so I've build a list but unfortunately I do not own Lilianas, Kolaghan's Command, Collective Brutality, Thoughtseize and there are no plans to buy them in the short/mid period. It seems to me a nice temporary fix focusing on old-fashioned Jund strategies like Blightning, Bolts and field removals and I'd like to share the build because I'm looking for external advices and/or to give more discussion points and see if there's room on current Modern for this alternative:
Guys I think Reid has his list up! At least I think it's his. 24 lands, 6 lilianas, 2 pulse, no push etc.
OMG, thats incredibly greedy. 10 3 drops and 24 lands only, WITH Blooming Marsh. How is that gonna work?
But I am curious to watch the games and find out.
I posted a similar list awhile back with 24 Lands, 9 3-drops (3 KCommands) no Push. I tried going down to 4 discards to make room for the 25th land and another Pulse, Scooze or LotH, but wanted a 2/2 split of TS and IoK as TS helps against Tron. However, the number of 3-drops hurt with Bob. I actually lost a game with my 2 Bobs revealing BBE and LoTV. This maybe why Reid prefers IoK and moved TS to the SB to mitigate the life loss.
3 Ooze seems a bit much for me since I run 3 KCommands and 2 LotH to recur them but Reid also has no graveyard hate in the SB and Scooze helps with the Bob triggers so it's probably good to have the 3rd copy.

I am afraid this approach would not be very competitive, since LoTV/LtLH and KCommand are very detrimental to this decks competitiveness. Cards like Blightning and Jund Charm were good in the past, but wont be run in the future at competitive play, since there are better and more efficient options out there now.

I honestly think any list with 9+ three drops and 8- one drops is just way too clunky to compete with aggro. Regardless of landcount here. I think we want at least 10 one drops and max 8 three drops. If I would run 24 lands, I would max play 7 three drops I think.
And another question.
I've not been boarding BBE in any match for practice reasons.
But, are there matches where i should definitely shave on BBE?
I don't think there is a matchup were we board out BBE. Its just the best card in so many matchups. It is even good vs aggro and combo because it provides tempo advantage and a clock. But speaking of which, maybe its right to shave one copy in those matchups (like RB Hollow One) since those go on the board so quickly that a turn 4 tempo advantage wont matter.
Haha, nah, until he writes an article saying, "this list has really had amazing results, it's what I recommend" I'm not taking it too seriously.
I am really hoping he writes an article this week to decide on though.
That amount of 3 drops scares me a little, though.
Also, 0 graveyard hate? That doesn't seem right, outside of an FNM I expect dredge to come back in full force to prey on Jace decks.
I know it's silly, but I feel more obligated to run anger of the gods because of Storm's goblin tokens, I'd love an excuse not to play it. I dislike boardwipes.
Jace decks have path to exile, detention sphere, Settle the Wreckage and Terminus to deal with Dredge. If you want to play a card that’s not just a board wipe but can answer Storm’s goblin tokens, you can run Golgari Charm. Rakdos Charm is also an option, where you can have all those goblin tokens deal damage to the storm player.

It’s similar to what I was doing... he isn’t banking on Tempo elf, he is going for value elf. I had been on the 2/2 split on MP and KC since BBE was unbanned. It improves matchups against control and Tron. I love how Reid is predicting no Graveyard decks and is going to show off how ridiculous Scooze can be in the right hands. He is also telling us Lightning Bolt is back making Treetop Bad. Trust the haircut bro

No, but really, is that him?
Lol. You cant be saying that list is the way to go. Thats utter greed imo.

And yeah, it looks like he's not going for tempo and going for full value.
There's no way Reid Duke believes Jund doesn't need GY hate, he's probably just hedging the lack of it for now.
I think anyone who thinks 3x Scooze is enough graveyard hate is nuts, he's already said so in multiple articles.
