I think you are right, more disruption/removal at 2 is the right tactic it would seem.

I've watched Ari Lax play his 3 games. Although I admire his accomplishments, it really seemed he didn't have a full grasp on the deck. I'm guessing this was his first time piloting it. It showed. I don't know if the outcomes would have been any different but a couple of his sideboard choices and a couple of his mulligan choices seemed rushed and incorrect. It does point out we have a weakness to combo. (Its why I run a ramp package with Gemstone Caverns and SSG) But there are a lot more decks than just combo out there and he seems to favor Bant Eldrazi over us anyway.
I haven't watched the others yet but save your time on the Lax video, not much to learn there that we don't already know.

It's interesting that Eldrazi Tron is putting up some results on MTGO and yet had exactly zero copies in all of the SCG regionals - I know you guys love the deck regardless - but what does this mean for Eldrazi Tron in a paper meta?
Didn't really get to play with Walking Ballista all day, so I'm not sure how good it is yet. Might just play 2 and go back to 3 Warping Wails. Feel free to ask any questions.
Firstly, thanks for the writeup.
WB should have done well in the Elves matchup. Didn't see you mention it. Its also good in the Jund matchup to wipe out Bobs and keep Lily in check but it looks like Chalice did the heavy lifting those games. Cutting to 2 may be in order with your list. It probably is meta dependent.
How was Cavern of Souls for you? Did it make a difference in the UW and Grixix control match ups? I sorely am needing a copy but don't feel like popping down 60 bucks for one card. Wish I knew if it were being reprinted in MM3.
The only "combo" that we most certainly lose to is valakut ramp. We're almost certainly better against combo than Gx Tron is.
That is a bad matchup for sure. What have you tried to combat it?

I would never leave home without at least a singleton cavern (i run 2). The opportunity cost of putting it in your deck is pretty much zero and just by having a singleton cavern in your deck, you can increase your odds against various blue decks by a pretty significant amount. The actual price market cost is pretty steep though.
I'm about to abandon my 7 card ramp package of 3 Gemstone Caverns and 4 Simian Spirit Guide. If I do it opens up 3 land slots and Cavern of Souls would be a natural fit. My problem is that I have a self imposed cap of no more than $30 for a single card. Maybe I could find one for around 45 to 50 bucks but the thought of a reprint in MM3 in a little over a month and seeing the price cut in half gives me hesitation. I may wait as I'm not playing competitively in the near future. If I was I'd drop the coin for it. Problem is the longer I wait the more the card seems to rise in price and there is no guarantee on a reprint. May have to break my hard cap rule.

Without Eye of Ugin it just seems out of place. The 2 cmc slot feels like it needs to be left open for Warping Wail, Spatial Contortion, Chalice on one or Walking Ballista on one. Late game it seems a wasted top deck as well. Even if it becomes a 10/10 it can still be chumped all day and still dies to tons of removal out there. And now Fatal Push kills it without even needing Revolt to trigger. I suppose a creature heavy version could find uses for it but you don't see many lists at all running it.

How's Eldrazi Mimic in this deck? Or is it just not what the deck wants?
If you want to play with Mimics try out the Colorless Eldrazi Stompy deck. It shares many cards with Eldrazi Tron so you can easily build both (I just got both this week).
Anyone want to try a little theory-crafting and talk colorless man-lands?
Again I'm about to abandon my 4 SSG and 3 Gemstone Cavern package and it would open up 3 land slots. I'm thinking 1 or 2 Cavern of Souls, maybe 1 CoS and a Sea-Gate Wreckage and instead of filling the last slot with a 3rd Ghost Quarter or 3rd Waste a colorless man-land could fit.
I have noticed there will be games where I am sitting on Tron or have 7+ mana and nothing to spend it on. My threats have been removed and I'm sitting on a mana-flood. I top deck another land or another Map and its another seemingly wasted turn. If I would catch that Map though (without Chalice) I could tutor up a man-land. So what would be the "best" of the few choices we have?
I didn't mention a couple of others like Standing Stones and Inkmoth Nexus as they don't seem to be worth it. Being able to tutor up a 2/2 or even a 4/2 seems okay. Tutoring up a flying 3/4 sounds attractive but probably unplayable early to mid game. Zoetic Cavern is interesting in that it could become a land if needed but dies to about every removal out there. Any thoughts on which may be best as a one of? I know just adding an extra Ghost Quarter or a Buried Ruin or another Cavern of Souls may be the better option but sometimes I find myself creature-light (or absent) and mana-flooded. Best choice of the ones above?

I had an idea because of the fact that dismembers keep killing me. What about splashing white for path and adding a sideboard option for displacer?
I'm sure its possible, just not sure it is optimal. You would need to remove Chalice to play Path. Seems counterproductive. Reworking the mana base to splash a color opens up a new set of hurdles. You could always test it and report back your findings. Realistically you could just add a couple of Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to help alleviate the Dismember life loss. Good luck.
Back to my man-land question. I like the idea of getting in a last 3 points of damage if needed. Although it would be a slow 2 turn play off Map. Also with a Spatial Contortion in hand it could be a potential 6/1 flyer and the final 6 points of damage vs. a board with ground creatures. Again this would be a late-mid to late game option as early game Mutavault could be a better call. Again, just spitballing.

we need to find a way to make the deck survive against titanshift and other combo decks as I've found you either need to hit tron and the hate cards to even stand a chance against them
I think the question that needs to follow this up is how much of the overall metagame is combo and what cards need to be put in the SB and at what numbers.

Thanks. Dredge feels more like an aggro deck than combo how it plays out. I would think a combo of Ravenous Trap, Grafdigger's Cage and Relic of Progenitus in the 15 would be in order. Personally its why I'm running 2 Perilous Vault over Oblivion Stone as my meta has had a good bit of Dredge in it. Not a lot of EldraziTron players go with O.Stone though like me.
As for Ad Nauseam, a couple of Spellskites in the 75 or maybe Phyrexian Revoker? I think proper use of Chalice is vital in that matchup as well. It isn't possible to board for the entire meta in colorless so some compromises have to be made. A pilot could always try my 7 card ramp package of 3 Gemstone Caverns and 4 SSG to power out Chalice and TKS quicker as well trying to disrupt the combo player.

RE: Lands. I don't really think there's much room for manlands. The 16 mandatory lands + 3 Ghost Quarter + 2-3 Wastes leaves room for just 2-3 flex lands. I suppose you could run manlands but I think Sanctum of Ugin, Cavern of Souls, Gemstone Cavern, and Sea-Gate Wreckage will be better most of the time. You could try going down on GQ if your meta allows it to squeeze some in. Whenever I get time I'm going to try a Walking Ballista heavy list with Sanctum and Sea Gate Wreckage. That should theoretically give the deck plenty of mana-sinks.
RE: Combo. I think Chalice and TKS give us decent game against any-non Valakut combo deck. Valakut is a problem for every Eldrazi deck and its just a bad match-up we have to eat.
I had an idea because of the fact that dismembers keep killing me. What about splashing white for path and adding a sideboard option for displacer?
Try running a Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth in one of your flex land slots. If your meta is full of aggro decks that make Dismember a liability you could swap one for Spatial Contortion but I would put the Dismember in the board.
I may have room for one land in a flex spot. The thing is Buried Ruin may be better in that spot. What I'm hoping for is a good colorless man-land coming up in Amonkhet. That is just ifs and buts though.
As for Ad Nauseam, again most ET pilots don't run Perilous Vault but it would exile Phyrexian Unlife and any mana rocks on board to disrupt the combo. Of course it hoses myself as well. And yes a rushed turn 2 or even turn 1 TKS can cause a lot of disruption. Ask me how I know. Also a turn 3 or 4 Karn could throw a wrench in the combo players gears I would think. Just spitballing again.

Combo decks in Modern: 28 % of the metagame

Valakut 5 % Bad MU.

UR Storm 1 % OK MU
Walks 0.X % Fine MU
Jeskai Ascendancy 0.X % Haven't played it but my guess is it's a fine MU.
Cheerios - Combo 1 % Good MU.
Ad Nauseam can be hosed with Thorn of Amethyst and/or Lodestone Golem. The former makes mana rocks slower but potentially better, the latter doesn't slow down the rocks but clocks really fast. Either of them makes the combo cost 12, 8 for AN + AG and 4 for Lightning Storm and the cantrips 2.
Titan Scapeshift can be slowed down with the same cards. Thorn is good at making their combo turn 5/6+ and Lodestone is the same, but dies to Bolt and Anger. They should be siding those outs against this deck though, so not sure how much it affects it.
Titan Breach can be slowed with both, and is especially more punished because they run the full set of Pacts, which forces them to pay 7 for TTB without a titan in hand, or to break the combo down to 3 turns. 1 for pact, 1 to pay for it, 1 to go off. They play less bolts as well I think.
Most other combo decks, and control decks also, are hosed by those two (especially by Thorn).
Some notes with the regular build against Ad Nauseam is that a Chalice on 1 leaves them out of Spoils, Cantrips and Ange's Grace. So they are force to go off an Unlife and AN naturally drawn. Also, if a game would go on long, or if you get Tron T3, a Chalice on 3 wins the game on the spot*, as they can't play any of their kill conditions.
*Unless, of course, they draw randomly an Echoing Truth or something.
Wait, what? for combo why are we taking out Pithing Needle it kills Nahiri, Kiki, A bit of affinity, Most of ad nauseam, meaning its mana acceleration, and others like Aether Vile. Its an all around hate card

Also, if a game would go on long, or if you get Tron T3, a Chalice on 3 wins the game on the spot*, as they can't play any of their kill conditions.
*Unless, of course, they draw randomly an Echoing Truth or something.
I think I'd rework my board like this:
2x Pithing Needle
1x Basilisk Collar
3x Relic of Progenitus
2x Ratchet Bomb
3x Spatial Contortion
1x Warping Wail
2x All is Dust
1x Karn Liberated
1x Basilisk Collar
3x Relic of Progenitus
2x Thorn of Amethyst
2x Ratchet Bomb
3x Spatial Contortion
2x Lodestone Golem
1x All is Dust
1x Karn Liberated
