Hey guys, I just ordered the pieces for Eldrazi and Taxes
Is there a good resource for sideboard guides, or very good primers?
I tried googling, checking channelfireball and whatnot, but didn't see anything too detailed
I mainly want to see a resource guide so I can grasp what cards are good and bad against archetypes and what to sideboard in and out as reference points
EDIT: I'd recommend going through the rest of the primer. There's a lot of good resources compiled there. If that's not enough, https://go.twitch.tv/kponcemtg streams BW E&T a lot. I also stream it occasionally, and Catmix also releases regular D&T content.
Nothing. As someone who plays E-Tron, there's some hands where I think it's nearly impossible to beat unless you're a combo deck that can win on the spot. Decks aren't designed to beat turn 2 thought knots into back to back 5/5s
Spsiegel1987 is right. Against that hand, you either have Ghost Quarter ready or you lose. Natural Tron only occurs in like 4-5% of games though, so you're dealing with the exception and not the rule.
Playing millions of cards every turn... Slowly and systematically obliterating any chance my opponent has of winning... Clicking the multitude of locking mechanisms into place... Not even trying to win myself until turn 10+ once I have nigh absolute control... Watching my opponent desperately trying to navigate the labyrinthine prison that I've constructed... Seeing the light of hope fade and ultimately extinguished in an excruciatingly slow manner... THAT'S fun Magic.
We have 2-3 users that are dramatically making this thread incomprehensible and non-productive for anyone else to possibly join in the discussion. This needs to change.
Every time I see [ktkenshinx] post in here, I get the impression of a stern dad walking in on a bunch of kids trying to do something dumb and just shaking his head in disappointment.
Near Mint: The same as Slightly Played, but we threw some Altoids in the box we stored it in to cover up the scent of dead mice. Slightly Played: The base condition for all MTG cards. This card looks OK, but there’s one minor annoying ding in it that will always irritate and distract you whenever you draw it. Moderately Played: This card looks like it survived the Tet Offensive tucked inside the waistband of GI underwear. It may smell like it, too. Heavily Played: This card looks like the remains of Mohammed Atta’s passport after 9/11. It may be playable if you double-sleeve it to stop the chunks from falling out. The condition formerly known as "Washing Machine Grade" Damaged: This card is the unfortunate victim of a Mirrorweave/March of the Machines/Chaos Confetti/Mindslaver combo.
[M]aking counterfeit cards is the absolute height of dishonesty. Ask yourself this question: Since most people...are totally cool with the use of proxies...what purpose do [high] quality counterfeit cards serve?
Important d&t question for the thread: Which is the better Aven mindcensor? Pre-release promo or invocation?
Follow up question of if invocation, should you make sure to play with invocation aether vials as well?
The best way to do Mindcensor is one each of all four versions, Future Sight, Amonkhet, promo, and invocation. Never miss a chance to tilt the thin-skinned.

Masterpiece Vials are a nice touch, but you should only be running Masterpiece Vials if you've also got WMCQ Thalias.
WMCQ Thalias are one of the most beautiful cards out there (along with judge promo Elesh Norn) and is what I use on MTGO. That said normal Thalia art is good to, I have a signed print framed in my living room. Johannes Voss does some amazing art and makes sweet tokens to if you check out her patreon/kickstarters.
I actually don't like any of the mind sensor arts but I use non foil amonkhet. The inovcation mindcensor is really bad in my opinion.

That was my go to for flickerwisps & ghost quarters but WOTC ruined that plan by reprinting wisp in MM3.
He opened a hand with natural tron, smasher, balista, the equipment with deattouch and lifelink, i just scooped.
EDIT: i'm playing E&T
Mana disruption is key because you're not beating them if they 're casting a lot of spells. Ghost Quarter and Tec Edge are super important. Post-Board side in artifact hate and phyrexian revokers if you have them. Side out 1-toughness creatures like thalia and fickerwisp to avoid ballista blowouts.
Hey guys, I have a question! Regarding Eldrazi and Taxes, what does the matchup look like, and how does one board in for burn, and what are the most effective cards against them in this matchup? Thanks in advance!

While you're correct about siding in artifact hate and that 1 toughness creatures such as thalia aren't great vs them, I think it's absolutely wrong to sb out fliers. Wisp can work as resource denial and can help us race when you vial out that attacking smasher. And it has evasion. I should also note that I like to keep in ~2 thalias on the play as her tax can be relevant in the earlier stages of the game and she beats reshapers in combat. She's much worse on the draw though.
So a buddy of mine was at a PPTQ yesterday and faced a guy playing BW Eldrazi & Taxes with some Lingering Souls in it. Kind of sparked my curiosity. What's your opinions on putting 1-2 in where our flex spots are? I feel like it does fit into the deck alright. No real drawbacks except for maybe competing with our other 3 drops. But at that point I feel like you're playing more midrange Eldrazi almost so idk. Thoughts?
Birds are great, if you don't have Vial in your opening Hand, you Play Birds and can get Arbiter + GQ opponents' land next turn.. or Play big Thalia turn 2 (depends on opponent's deck).. it's very smooth and I didn't got manascrewed.. I like the Birds more than Hierarch, since they have flying and I would always take the 4 more flying creatures than the Exalted trigger.. you nearly don't even need sideboarding against some of the Tier decks like Burn, Tron etc. and with Birds you have some blockers against Affinity to buy you time until you find the sideboard Card/Wrath..
The green splash has been good for a long time. The recent printing of Ramunap Excavator gave it some new tech, although I haven't had a chance to test it yet.
There's a lot going on with your list, but I can already tell you that Hierarch is better than Birds. Hierarch is the second best mana dork behind Deathrite Shaman, and both of them are miles ahead of the third best dork, which is Birds of Paradise.
Finks in the maindeck is a metagame call. Unless your metagame is filled with Burn, it's probably not the right one. You've basically pulled 4x Blade Splicer for 2x Serra Avenger and 2x Kitchen Finks, which I think is probably a mistake. The 2x Serra Avenger is definitely a mistake. The 2x Kitchen Finks, well, your mileage may vary.
For what it's worth, I was recently testing Wrath of God in the Settle the Wreckage slot, and I think Wrath is the right call against a lot of decks. You only want that card when your opponents go wide faster than you do, and in that spot, you don't want your opponents to be able to play around it.

@yung_loogy google search the term “Lingering Taxes” or deathandcatmix. Lol we’ve been doing that’s for almost two years, my love!

Hello, I played mono white D&T when I started playing modern probably 6 years ago, and I really liked the deck, alot of decisions and you need to know the field to have sucess with the deck.
Last week I bought a B/W Eldrazi & Taxes in MTGO and I'm having a blast with it. Awesome deck, very powerfull creatures and alot of strategy. But I'm having ALOT of trouble against discard decks, I'm not sure what to board out/in. I got destroyed at friendly league, went 1-4 winning only against burn, the other 4 matches were all against discard decks (grixis shadow twice, B/R rogue deck with blood moon and damnation main deck and the other I don't remember). Gonna post my deck here and I would really appreciate some opinion on it, if I should change something, etc.
@deathandcatmix Oh okay. Are you well known or something? I'm new to the deck so I just wanted input. Nobody has replied to my posts so far so I'm not getting any good feedback on stuff. Sorry...
@yung_loogy that was not a slam on you at all. Please don’t take it that way. It is just an ongoing joke in this forum. I wouldn’t say that I’m well known but I host this forum and I have engaged with probably more than 75% of the patrons here. I was trolling myself by saying google search my name because most of my content for over a year and nearly all of my recorded wins have lingering souls in them.
To directly answer your question, I do believe lingering souls is a great tool in dnt shells. It helps to wide through some of our tougher match ups and is a hard to answer card for quite a few decks.
Again, if my previous comment was viewed as a slam please know it was not meant to be. I do hope you check my content out and let’s play some lists with souls and see how it fairs!
I am curious! Has anyone on the Eldrazi DNT variants thought about using Blight Herder in the recent months? It has a lot of match ups that give you reasonable exile fodde/ fuel and does a great job at going wide against midrange decks as well! I have not been near a Drazi in weeks but always think about this card when I see people still on Reality Smasher.

Blight Herder needing to process 2 Exiled cards seems like a tall order for E&T, since we only run 8 permanent (Path, TKS) and 4 temporary (Tidehollow Sculler) exile effects. You would need a good deal of luck, or for your opponent to use Delve, for it to be active. It is, however, popular in BW Eldrazi Processor decks, since they run 4 Relic of Progenitus maindeck.
Yes. There are. Here is Craig Wescoe's take, here's Patxi Sanchez's guide, and for a more general SBing guide, here's something I wrote up. All except patxi's guide are in our primer (@DeathandCatmix we should add his guide to Leonin's Library).
EDIT: I'd recommend going through the rest of the primer. There's a lot of good resources compiled there. If that's not enough, https://go.twitch.tv/kponcemtg streams BW E&T a lot. I also stream it occasionally, and Catmix also releases regular D&T content.

Thoughts?

You would need a good deal of luck, or for your opponent to use Delve, for it to be active. It is, however, popular in BW Eldrazi Processor decks, since they run 4 Relic of Progenitus maindeck.
