I have seen hunting wilds get played as a one of in BTLShift for a thtorable ramp spell that ramps 2 when they need that or as a way to attack if their Scapeshifts get exiled. And it seems to do very well there. So, we can see that it has useful applications and can be powerful. Also, I don't like the argument that It opens our lands up to removal because obviously if we are in a situation to cast it kicked we don't have another option and it's most likely worth it.
I am definitely not shooting down this idea, I find myself wanting the ramp two for one spell without the wait of KHE fairly often. This is especially true when I have to mulligan or if my ramp spells have been countered or discarded and I'm stuck on 4-5 needing two lands to cast a wincon. I would love to hear how this plays out and will possibly test it myself.
I replaced my Khalni Heart Expedition by Farseek because I was often unable to trigger KHE if I wasn't already ahead. I think that farseek more reliable.

Hunting Wilds is just like Farseek, it can get non-basics. If you have a couple of Cinder Glades or Stomping Grounds (which we all run 5-6 of) then you can cast it, get some Valakut triggers to kill blockers or go to dome and maybe even kick it and attack if need be.
1-2 vs UR Delver Prowess
Won game 1, got unlucky on the other 2 mulling to 6 on both, mana screwed on the 3rd.
2-1 vs Dredge
He didn't have experience with the deck, so his plays weren't optimal.
1-2 vs RG Tron
Got game 1, game 2 lost to Karn -3 two times, then World Breaker, then another Karn. Had 2 Titans and a Pact in hand but couldn't get to 6 lands. Game 3 I had a great hand on a mull to 6 with 2 Searchs, Explore, 3 lands and drew my kill conditions. But I didn't drew the 6th land on time, World Breaker set me back and Oblivion Stone took care of Titan. Ulamog exiled 2 Valakuts and he had Warping Wail on hand waiting for Shift.
I usually go something like -2 Farseek, -2 Anger, +1 Crumble, +3 Nature's Claim. But I don't think 3 Claims is that necessary. I'm thinking about going only -2 Anger, +1 Crumble, +1 Spellskite (is it useful?).

I don't think we should have SB slots dedicated to Tron. The MU is not bad, and we shouldn't dilute our plan because we are able to deal up to 72 damage (if the stars align) to counter the life gain of Wurmcoil. Karn is slow against our ramp, World Breakers is a 1 of (most times even in the board) and Ugin is not good vs us. I'd just swap my 3 angers for 3 Baloths, just to apply pressure and close out faster with valakut while mitigating our life loss from Wurmcoil, and also O Stone is bad against us (sure it can kill titan but the impact is already on the table). Also I'd take out 3 Bolts for 1 Rec Sage, 1 Krosan Grip and 1 Grudge. We don't really care for the life gain on their side, we can keep up with the ramp they produce and we can kill faster than they can. In this MU we're the beatdown so diluting our plan to keep them off winning benefits them more than us.

In Lorwyn's brief evenings, the sun pauses at the horizon long enough for a certain species of violet to bloom with the fragrance of mischief.
did a thing yesterday. My lgs was doing a win a NES classic. It was five rounds of swiss with cut to t4. I don't remember much because I didn't get much sleep with having to be into work early today.
round 1 2-1 mono blue delver ( I played Arthur Fusco, the creator of the deck. He's a local at my area so shouldn't be hard to figure out where I am).
game one he had double delver, he kinda got there.
I didn't really know how to side board so I just brought in chalice, ee, and sudden shock. I kept in angers since I knew he would bring in giest.
but in game 2 I kinda got lucky and just yoloed scapeshift and it got here.
game 3 same board plan. I casted a primetime in open mana because I had a second. the first resolved and I won.
The thing about this match up is that if he doesn't have the aggro start I can just play ramp spells and know he won't counter do to he has to counter titan/shift. Playing land go isn't a bad idea.
record 1-0
round 2 1-2 Naya burn.
game 1 was weird. We both had several outs but the game took a lot longer then it should. He eventually drew a burn spell and got me
bored was take out 3KHE and 3 shifts. Saddly I changed my bored to the point with only one baloth due to the local meta I thought would happen.
But game 2 I lead with suspend SFT, then chalice on 1 t2. Kinda went from there and won
game 3 was honestly weird. He kept a mono 2 drop hand and my chalice on 1 seemed dumb. He also had double edilon so happens
record 1-1
round 3. 2-1 bant spirits
game1. Honestly I cast primetime and I more than likely win. That's what happened.
I brought in anger, cage, some number of sudden shocks.
He didn't know how cage work with coco so that was cool.
game 2. I honestly don't remember what happened. I think the match was close and he just kinda saw 3 or 4 spell quellers. It wasn't good for me.
game 3 was close. I cast scapeshift and he quelled it. Next turn I drew bolt and didn't do anything with it. he EoT flashed in the captain, in response I bolted the queller with shift and won.
record 2-1
round 4 2-1 mono blue tron.
gamme 1 I almost got there when all I drew where lands and only had one valakut. I got him down to five and then he cast ulamog. I didn't draw anything relevant the turn he tapped out. Feels bad man.
board plan was grudge, tracker and 4 claims. took out anger and bolts.
game 2 I kinda felt bad because I cast scapeshift with 7 lands and he scooped. I was told afterwords he played a scapeshift before and he got killed by six lands. so I think dude had a omen or something. I don't know. I didn't say anything and I just looked at arthur who was next time and we kinda exchanged weird looks
Now for game three since I'm not on the play anymore there is some merit of taking out KHE. since he has to bounce it and time walk me or will have counter. but I didn't
but game 3 was grindy and I'm glad tracker is a card. It got there by letting me draw cards
record 3-1
round 5 deathshadow zoo.
game 1 I won the die roll and it matter. I won t4 or t5. I also got lucky into topdeck primetime into scapeshift
I brought in chalice, ee and sudden shock
game 2 He had a goyf for my chalice on 1. Oh well goyf got there
game 3 I went chalice on one ee on two and hit him with steve. I had virtual 5 mountains with steve, misty, and 3 actual mountains. I had double valakut and was just waiting. I got there.
record 4-1. Got top 4
round 1 of top 4 madcap moon 0-2
this is ironic because my main deck in modern is blue moon. I even took madcap moon to the rptq I played in at the start of the month and lost this match up as the madcapmoon player. It sucks when I don't see blood moon. Oh well
games 1 and 2 played out the same. blood moon into plat. oh well
only misplay I did about game 2. I could of natures claim the blood moon when he played it. pact for a tracker and gone from there. But didn't probably due to me being tired. Oh well if anyone wants to see a deck list please let me know. The S/b was configured for what I expected. the maindeck is pretty much the stock anger/KHE one.
2-0 vs Abzan
2-1 vs Infect (thanks to a missplay on his side. I think I still could have won if he waited, tho)
1-2 vs RG Tron (G3 was insane, one of the best I've had recently)
2-0 vs MonoRed Goblins
A turn 3 karn really isn't that bad at all to deal with he minus 3s on one of your lands you bolt and kill it and continue to play magic or he gets to minus 3 and take another land, it sucks but karn is beatable. Trons turn 4 ulamog is the card I dread.
2-0 vs UR Storm
New player on the deck, made a few missplays on G1 and kept a bad hand on G2.
0-2 vs Melira Company
I went for Titan instead of waiting 1 turn for a land to kill with Scapeshift and he managed to find his combo with double Company + Chord. I had one Bolt on hand and really should have waited. My bad.
G2 had a good hand, got Explosives for 2, but he had removal for it. Needed to draw a land to kill with Shift, drew Bolt. On his turn, he went for it with Anafenza + Melira and one Bolt couldn't stop him.
2-1 vs Jund
G1, he mulls to 4 and don't play magic
G2 I ramp a lot, but don't find any kill condition. He kills 2 STE to open the way for his Goyf. Got 2 Valakut online, killed the Goyf and he comes back with Flayer. Fulminator takes out one of the Valakuts and Flayer kills me slowly.
G3 he stops on 1 land and I had a really good hand.
2-0 vs RG Tron
He mulls to 3 and decide to go to G2
I open almost a god hand (3 lands, Titan, STE, KHE and Search). He plays turn 4 Karn taking one land and I follow with turn 4 Titan taking his Karn. He plays Wurmcoil and passes with Warping Wail up. Next turn I had Fetch, Search, STE to kill him with Valakut triggers, along with Titan triggers.
Hey guys, what is the oppinion on Chalice of the Void in our sideboard?
Since we don't play SSG, it can only come down on turn 2.
I've never been a fan of it for that reason. Chalice is a weird card that you need to have come down early to be effective. In our deck, It's only useful (IMO) on turn 2 when you're on the play. It's too slow on the draw w/o SSG, so you really only have it for 1 of your sideboard games.
I'm thinking about something like
-4 Scapeshift (I always get flooded with win conditions in this matchup instead of drawing interaction)
-2 Anger (don't really think it's that good when they have a lot of protection and a manland that avoids it. feels too slow also)
-3 KHE (i don't want to tap out on turn 2 to play it. even playing on 3 keeping 1 mana open seems risky)
+2 Spellskite
+2 Engineered Explosives
+1 Sudden Shock
+2 Nature's Claim
+2 Baloth/Tireless Tracker (blockers for Elf and Tracker can give me some draws to find interaction)
WIth my list against infect I side in this way: Out 4 Khalni 1 Farseek on draw 1 Explore on play In: 3 Sudden Shock 1 Lightning Bolt 1 Anger . This boarding plan has won me about 65 percent of my infect matchups in the months I have been playing the deck.
With your list, I would board in 1 Anger 1 Sudden Shock 2 Spellskite 2 Nature's Claim boarding out 3 Khalni's 1 Farseek on Draw 1 Explore on Play 1 Scapeshift. EE seems that it is pretty dead against them more often then not and baloth/tireless tracker seems a tad slow.
EE is completely dead they will just play around it. Blighted Agent 2 cmc, Glistener elf 1 cmc, Inkmoth 0cmc, see where I am going with this? Honestly the best card I have ever played against infect is good old Fog. I personally do not find infect a bad match up we have a ton of tools main deck to take care of them and after sideboard it just gets better.
