Stock Burn and Zoo lists certainly do get blown up by Eldrazi, but some Burn players were advocating the use of Ensnaring Bridge, which could tilt odds their way (and annoy us in the process).
Question: How many modern Merfolk players also play Merfolk in legacy? I'm thinking of getting into legacy, and seeing as I already have modern Merfolk, it seems the easiest (and, let's face it, cheapest) way to enter the format.

I'm actually the other way around. I primarily play legacy with Merfolk, and my modern play is just because it was pretty much free. The pricy not-modern cards are major staples that you'd want to get anyway for anything Blue. Also, it's a lot better at teaching general Legacy skills than the other cheap decks that only really teach you how to play *that specific* deck well. I really recommend it.
for example you can attack with Kira and untap her to have one more blocker
um... no you can't
How not? You attack, deal some damage and then in the second main phase you untap her unless she is killed during combat phase. Minamo allows you to untap target legendary permanent and Kira is legendary permanent.
Kira's own ability counter's the effect....

Psionic Blast is so hilarious I almost want to try it, but I know better not to.
I am thinking of trying one of because now that I think about it there has been so many times they were down to like almost 1 and I cant finish them because they have stabilized. I have never played with it but what is your opinion on the card and how it plays in merfolk?

I try it off and on. It's really *fun* but uh.. not actually that good. Reej, Kira, Thassa, and even Merfolk Sovereign are better things to do with 3 mana.

Never played it. I can't figure which deck I would even want it against.
Do you know for a fact Eldrazi will show up in your local meta or is this a shot in the dark? It does seem geared towards handling the Eldrazi, but if they aren't there you could easily fit Kira in.
Personally, I would cut 1 sea's claim and the vapor snag for Kira. I would also cut 2 of the Ghost Quarters in your SB for a 3rd Chalice and Tidebinder, but this is without knowing your meta at all. If there are alot of Eldrazi decks than your list seems fine to me.
burn is extremely favorable games 2 and 3. You can have your cake and eat it too.
Can you elaborate on this? What are we siding in / out or what other details make the match extremely favorable? What are they lacking answers for that we are trouncing them with? I haven't found a matchup yet that feels 'extremely' favorable with Merfolk.
How important is master of waves to our lists if we were to top our curve out at 3?? I am just getting back into magic and am starting with modern because I don't quite have the funds to keep up with standard. Maybe in a few months but I am focusing on Modern. I was playing fishies in Standard back when they were legal and all so I get mostly how to play the deck. Thanks for the help.
I don't even know how many times I've had a burn player die to their own Eidolon of the Great Revel even without having Vial. A harbinger to bounce a Swiftspear or an Image to copy their Eidolon is just too sweet. They have to take 2 to deal us 3-4, while we are playing more creatures and have Mutas. It is an easy race to win

Very important. He's our bomb against midrange and control decks, and he fends off the likes of Zoo and Burn thanks to his protection from red and swarms of tokens. I wouldn't run less than 2, and in fact my deck carries all 4, and probably will continue to do so.
Rothgar, is there a way to see what changes you've made to the primer over time? If not could you add a change log that highlights the updates each time? Seems difficult to keep on top of it if we just have to go read it top to bottom every so often. Wondering if I'm missing something.
What's everyone's thoughts on 19 vs 20 lands? I've been running 19 and I have noticed that I get mana screwed sometimes when I don't have a vial. I'm also running all 4 Master of Waves. Here is my current list: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/freaky-fish-guys-1/

I didn't really think to save previous versions of the primer. I'll make sure to put up a change log going forward that details what stuff I've been working on.
I'm really just interested in keeping on top of what updates you're sharing. Maybe if you highlight the updates in a post it would be a good way to keep current conversation in tune with primer updates?
