try out torrential gearhulk over Jace. I think it does what you need, has the hefty body, and the only thing it doesn't do is loot. So it's a net gain/loss.
I'm also a little concerned that it can't flashback Iok, Serum Visions, and Thoughtseizes. That spot was initially a Goblin Dark-Dwellers, but tapping out on 5, even with a 4/4 body plus often times a removal spell, was leaving me to dead a little too often. I may turn the Reveler into a 3rd Tasigur, or a Kalitas
I'm definitely playing thoughtseizes in the side for mirrors, tron, midrange style matches (Jund, Abzan) but I figure IoK was enough because of the small casting cost of Death's Shadow decks and Chord deck (something my meta seems to have). I'm playing 4 basics, which have been great for not shocking myself as much, but is the 2 life a little risky right now?
Hi guys, new here. I recently got back into the game after about 10~ years and have built Grixis Delver and I am planning on acquiring cards to convert it to Grixis Control. This is the list I have come up with, its relatively close to what I'm running in Delver just with the added control cards. The lands are simply what I am working with right now, and I am currently looking to get more fetch's, etc. Despite having a few discard cards, I am mostly trying to play it as hard counter/removal control. The 1 Batterskull is in there just because I really like that card. Haven't fully decided a sideboard yet because I want to decide on a Main Deck list first before I move on to the Sideboard. I am currently considering removing Collective Brutality and possibly Electrolyze and 1 Fatal Push and possibly running more Counterspells. Looking for feedback/advice for a returning player
Very happy with this deck! First time playing it since ancestral got unbanned and I 5-0'd my locals without losing a single game. If someone would like I can post a list.

Sure, also list your meta. I've been going 1-3 and 2-2 mostly...It's a little frustrating at times. I've been looking to move Countersquall to the side because Mana Leak counters anything and I need that to prevent getting too far behind in the beginning. Anyone running 4 fatal push main?

I don't have the deck with me to post it right now, but I will later. I personally run 3 fatal push MB, also I find mana leak is very good in my meta because it is a lot of aggro.

will the fetchable duals with cycling fit into our decks at all or are we just better off with our current selection of lands?
For Grixis, which runs largely off tempo and doesn't play many lands, I'd be very hesitant to run any. I think other midrange/control shells could use a few, though.

They're all pretty bad. The best way is some form of land destruction + Fulminator, a quick clock and countermagic.
Obviously that's asking a lot, so you likely won't get it lots of the time.
that seems rough, right now I'm running 3 k command in the main and 2 fulms in the side, no surgical extraction. I thought of running some number of surgicals in the side for it since I could optimize my sb space but I don't even know how hard it would be to shore up that match, so I gave up on it
Any SB help is much appreciated, as I am new to the deck and the sideboard is pretty rough rn.
And my meta is all aggro with a couple midrange decks, I took 1st out of 32, here's a little report:
Round one: This guy was fairly new to magic, which I love to see more people getting into the game, especially modern. 2-0
Round two: Round one's brother, still kinda new to magic, but not as much, once again I love to see new people in the game, especially modern. 2-0
Round three: from here on out the rounds get harder, however my memory is a little fuzzy on this round as it has nearly been a week at this point, 2-0
Round four: Mardu control running a bit of a token theme with butcher and bitterblossom. Game one I resolved 2 ancestral visions on an empty board, easy game. Game two I resolved a single ancestral and beat down with tasigur after protecting him fairly aggressively so as to cut off my opponent's outs by minimizing draw steps
Round five: Pretty (foiled out) affinity. For having such a pretty deck I must say he had to read quite a few cards, I assume he borrowed the deck. All the spot removal in my deck really has it geared to beat afffinity brutally, and out of the board it just gets worse for him. 2-0
Ended up with 100% winrate -- my first ever after playing numerous control decks, very happy with this archetype!

If tron and valkut decks are fairly relevant I'm a fan of crumble to dust, even if it is underwhelming against tron it permanently takes them off tron and their valkuts (assuming the valkut player exposes their valkut pre-combo) even if it is a little slow it can single handedly win the matchup

tbh I feel pretty fine against GR Titanshift, even without any copies of crumble to dust in my 75. Fulms still feel fine against them but I'm fine with my pretty normal game plan. Maybe I just know the matchup

I like to thoughtscour them and surgical any lands and threats I see. A snap+thoughtscour won be a match up vs tron before
he's been playing it on stream too, he's been playing it really well since I've seen him playing it. He's just a really good player though
am I wrong for feeling fine about our titanshift matchup? It doesn't seem that bad to me
