I'm still having trouble deciding what to main deck as threats. Currently I run
4 snapcaster
2 Tasigur
2 Pia and Kiran
2 Kalitas
2 Jace, Architect
I like Kalitas in some match ups and just meh in others. It just gets pathed and its bad for tempo. Not sure if it's main or side material.
PNK and Jace are really nice, both are good at either buying time or staying ahead.
Vision seems ok as a 2 or 3 of but I'm not trying to drop 150 for cards that might not even be that great. The GDD interaction is sweet though. its certainly worth running it with thought scours. 5 mana might be steep against a control heavy meta though, so
So as of now I'm main decking 3 inquis, 2 mana leak, 2 negate, 2 remand. Looking for space to use spell snare if it ends up being good in this new format?
Side 2 Thoughtsieze for match ups where theyre necessary, mainly because I wanted to make room in the main for counter spells. side 3 dispel because it's absolutely amazing against burn, company/chord, and any control type of mirror. Super worth it and I love it.

How would you guys approach building without AV?
I don't think you need the Jace's in there. Personally I prefer Ashiok or Prodigy Jace as more preferable. Thing in the Ice might be good.
I'm working on a Grixis list for postban modern. Have played a handful of games in the freeform rooms on modo to decent results. It's obviously not a great sample since the only decks you run into are other AV/sword decks but I have gone 7-1 so far beating Tezzeret thopters, UW thopters, Mefolk AV, Splinter twin (guy loaded wrong deck lol), 1 grixis AV + thopters and 1 grixis AV. I've got to say the deck feels really powerful with so much card advantage.
In my minimal testing I've so far found AV to be busted obviously and the only game I lost my opponent went t1 discard t2 double av and I never managed to catch up from there. G2 had mana issues. Being on the play is going to huge for sure.
GDD is a really strong card if you resolve him. Originally had 4 but went down to 3 and currently at 2. Mostly sideboard them out against remand/mana leak decks because it's awful to tap out for and I imagine also taking him out against combo decks due to being too slow. The interaction with AV makes it too hard to pass up at least having 1 copy of him somewhere though
Spell snare is a powerhouse. Blue decks are going to skyrocket so having a 1 mana answer to snapcaster, foundry, remand, leak etc while also being strong against burn and affinity. Running 3 and very happy with it.

So through your play testing 3/4 dark-dwellers is too much? How many Jace? Have a deck list?

Really interested in a decklist, building a control deck at the moment and working on both Grixis and UWR variants. Having a test night tomorrow and looking for some ideas what decks to test.
I get pretty decent results on Cockatrice.
What do you guys think ?
With delve in the deck, how is it working with the Sword/Foundry combo? Seems nonbo to me. I do like the inclusion of Muddle since it can hit AV and tutors for either Terminate/Leak/Sword/Foundry/Shadow. I really like that part.
I was doing some testing with sword and found it was hard to get it to the yard. I didn't like casting it to start the chain. Plus our regular creature suite doesn't trigger its recursion. Wish it had more synergies there. Perhaps we would want to add Heir of Falkenwrath?? She for sure doesn't belong in any delver builds. She chucks a card which sucks unless you can recur or get flashback from it. I would totally play her in some sort of deck with Lingering Souls though. I'm still tinkering though. Someone will eventually find the right mix!

I'll have to figure out how to upload a decklist like people do when I'm home later as I'm too lazy to type it all out.

I've been unhappy to have him in my opening hand and drawing multiples is also not great since the deck already uses the GY for snapcaster so there's limited gas available. I'm not playing jace. I like the card but it doesn't feel necessary to me. I'm focusing more on a creature build to make the maximum use of kolaghan's command and rise/fall.
Hey guys, here is a list I came up with. Definitely more geared towards the Chapin style control plan, trying TITIs for now instead of the delve threats. I'm not sure how strong it is, but I feel this shell compliments TITIs strengths the best. May throw AV in too, just only have one atm haha.
Been playing Grixis Delver/Control since the Twin Ban.
EDIT: Didn't think about Thought Scour inefficiency without the delve bros. Any suggestions on what to run in its place, besides AV?

How is it a nonbo? There's literally one card that you can't Delve which is very easily played around.

Thirst for Knowledge is much much better in a deck like this than a 2/1 that dies to Bolt.
Thopter sword combo is real. I do think it is important to not go all in once everyone starts siding hate. Now the question is do I invest now, hope for a price drop, or just play pauper bc whatever becomes the best deck in modern will be banned. Hmm?

They might not go down much, but cards that have been recently unbanned tend to drop at least a bit after a couple weeks. I'd recommend holding out a bit and if you see the prices start to go up place an order immediately.

Can we please not do this *****? I see enough of it in that godforsaken ban thread and I don't want it leaking in here.
Seems very solid start for me, maybe try -Compulsive Research and see the right split between Serum and Ancestral Visions. Maybe change creatures base? or dont miss mana leaks? (im always confused about GerryT style and Chapin).
People said to go Jeskai couse Stony Silence, but not sold to. I really like Black part about Terminates, K Command, Inquisition of Kozilek.
Or maybe Thopter Combo is a must have now in those control decks? Or jst too hyped?

Personnaly I prefer running discard package instead of counter spell with Jace and GDD. I will be trying something heavy discard with 4 liliana and 4 ancestral vision as well. I will post the list when Im happy of the tunning of it as for now I have difficulty founding place for her.
This is what Ill be playtesting from now. I have big hope for this deck, I've play only a coupls games for now but it as been as good as expectd for now, played mostly against R/G Tron and regular Jund.
