I only leave Summons in when I'm playing against decks that don't interact that much. Counterspells, Pulse, removals, all of that is bad when you sacrificed all your lands for 2 guys if you don't kill them right away.
It's a good card when you're playing a match where you have to race, but more often than not it's the first card I look to when sideboarding cards out.
I think it's fine as a 1-of but it doesn't have it's spot fixed in the list either. It could turn into another 1 drop.
It was a beast when it was in RAV standard. The 1 damage per activiated ability seems relevant especially with all the fetchlands and other abilities running around.
I don't know if she'll make the cut into our sideboards, but she can stop Nahiri's ult, Kiki+Resto, Through the Breach and stuff like that, while also slowing down the opponent's mana.
I think she'll definitely be a sideboard card in Naya CoCo Zoo, and depending on the meta she might even get to mainboard billing. She's probably better suited for this deck than Thalia, Guardian of Thraben is (I understand they fulfill different roles, but they are competing for the same sideboard spots).
Color me skeptical. 3 mana is a lot in modern. Plus it dies to bolt, limiting its effectiveness against Nahiri decks and some Through the Breach decks. Not that you shouldn't try it.
I think she's pretty good, has a decent chance to see play but probably not as a main board card. Dies to bolt yes, but the potential tempo blowouts if she doesn't is insane.
She also messes with people so hard. Reading the card again I actually realized that she forces fetchlands to come into play tapped. So the opponent can't end-of-your-turn fetch a shock. He can't even fetch a shock on his own turn, if he wants to use the mana he is forced to fetch a basic.
Her abilities are so strong it would be pretty damn broken if she doesn't die to bolt.
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.
Hi, i am playing Zoo nahiri, but isnt too good play emrakul. i run only 2 nahiris and 1 ajani, 3 oaths of nissa and 1 goblin darkwellers for search with nahiri for their sinergy. i can see than it is good deck, but loss against too matchaps. I am run now dark zoo because is the best, more strong than naya company or something and his side is perfect vs combos or agro
I've been messing with list on line. 2x nahiri, Ajani V and 1 Arlinn with 1 GDD. Cool deck. My meta had shifted in 1 week so I am know running 3x crumble to dust
Its the same thing I was thinking. It wont see mainboard application (its prolly better suited for DnT decks), but it can still get some room sideboard. I am excited!
I agree that new Thalia will be good in DnT style decks - they depend on having a critical mass of creatures that also disrupt, so the opponents' bolts are really really taxed. Still unsure here. It's true that our opponents' bolts are also very taxed though, so perhaps I'm underestimating. The impact on creatures means that it's a SB card with a lot of applications. I'm warming up to it.
So I was doing some testing with the new Thalia on cockatrice, note: playing her as a 3 of so I could draw her more consistently, along with collected company.
She's good, really good. If my opponent was not playing a lightning bolt deck, you would gain such an unfair amount of tempo.
Played against affinity where she is medicore. On the play she is much better especially on turn 2, they only play 1 basic, so having her in play early can buy you an insane amount of time.
Against tron, she was amazing. Tron is really tough, but she made all their lands etb tapped and allowed me to get in so much damage before they could start ugin-ing. Pyroclasm did kill her, which sucked, but if she survives for a handful of turns, you have the time to flood the board and they can't interact with you.
She was bad against grixis and jund, unsurprisingly.
Medium against burn, 3/2 first strike is good against them, but she needs to be played turn 2 against them to really make an impact. They play so few lands and if they have 2 in play already, their set.
Need to test with her some more, but she was crazy against the decks that can't kill her efficiently. I could see playing 1 thalia main and/or some number in the board, like tireless tracker.
A 1 of against Tron in the board seems okay, but it is much much better against us then for us. You don't want your 2/3 mana creatures dying to bolt so easily, and there are better options against the decks she'd be good against in my opinion.
Now in standard, that's a different story. WR humans is gonna love them some Thalia.

I don't know which one is better in the expected meta, since both have some bad matchups in decks that will be there. I'm leaning towards Naya Company for now, but I'd like to know what you think about deck choice and main/sideboard changes that I could make.
Looking at the meta, I'd go with naya coco. It is strong and grindy. I mean some list your gonna fold too. Ad naus and living seems to somewhat of a problem for me with bigger zoos. Elves are iffy, but I usually run 2x kozeliks return

I rather run Pyroclasm or Volcanic Fallout instead of Kozi's Return. Since Merfolks will be present, Fallout seems better. Maybe I can fit it in 2 Helix's spots. I'll lose 2 cards vs Burn and Small Zoo, but I don't want to overboard on those matchups, so 2 Thalia 1 Helix seems fine for Burn and 1 Helix, 1 Eidolon, 1 Gryff could work for Small Zoo (since Gryff and Eidolon stops Bushwhacker stuff and Gryff also makes Burning Tree and E1 a lot worse).
