Im gunna be streaming (and drinking) all verations of zoo. Tomorrow at 6 pm est on my youtube (link in signature!) 6:30 est. ill go over big zoo, gruul, aquarium, 5 color, and budget.
Will there be VODs ? That's like 7.30am my local time so I won't be able to catch it =(
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.
Also, Blood Moon can be a thing just against Gifta Tron, this is why I think is a meta call. Otherwise some different hate cards would be good against UW Gifts, like Choke and Stony Silence for example.
So, if we get rid of Blood Moon, should we stop playing Magus too? It's a little bit different, since it is a threat. Any thoughts?
Hi all! I wanted to start playing zoo, but I don't have the money to buy all of the expensive cards like goyf or a good mana base. I have been brewing a budget version of bushwhacker gruul zoo. What do you think of this list?

Its a lifegainspell, that has combo breaking applications. It "gains you" 10 life, and also means decks that suck the life out of you in one go, ala lightning storm for 30 damage or swigh with all my elves for 50 damage, doesnt kill you. So at worse its a 3 mana gain 10 life, at best, 3 mana you X combo cant kill me.
but if he did say enough damage to bring you to negative wouldnt you still get the poison 10 counters? Say Im down to 10 then he deals 20 damage in one go?
Also While Im reading the card? It says you only get poison counters when your at zero life, does this mean if Im playing against infect he cant kill me?
edit checked gatherer massive damage would put you at negative and the next source would then deal the poison
Phyrexian Unlife won’t affect damage that reduces your life total from a positive number to 0 or less. For example, if you’re at 3 life and are dealt 5 damage, you’ll end up at -2 life. The next time you’re dealt damage, it will be dealt as though its source had infect.
Seems like the question went unseen.
If it's combat damage, it'd take you down to 0 that one turn. The following attacks (next turn) or spells (at instant speed during another phase) will issue poison counters.
No, you're still vulnerable to infect.

Hi all! I wanted to start playing zoo, but I don't have the money to buy all of the expensive cards like goyf or a good mana base. I have been brewing a budget version of bushwhacker gruul zoo. What do you think of this list?
Hi! I used to run something like this when I was first playing, about a year ago. For gruul zoo I'd say run dryad militant in place of E1, or the ape if you like E1 too much, just because imo when I played it was super important to turn on jund hackblade on turn 2. I wasn't a huge fan of naya hushblade, but a card you could run is Lightning Mauler as he can really speed up your clock especially off of burning tree. Flinthoof Boar is also great in the 2 drop and you can haste him for an extra mana. Stormblood berserker can also be a beast although takes a little work to set up.
Imo you need some more removal than just bolt. Something like dismember should work especially with no shocks and fetches.
Try to get some non basics, like root bound Craig which is fairly inexpensive. Anyou GR land that can come in untapped is great. Too many basics means you will have to mull more because you won't have the color you need to make the deck run. You can even run pain lands like Karplusan Forest, but try to have maybe 8 dual lands, whatever they are

Well, my Tarmogoyf playing brothers and sisters, I am planning on taking Zoo to States this weekend.
Really curious what you guys think the 'best version' of the deck is for a completely unknown meta.
Thanks!

I've seen it being played in some of the lists. I would assume that it's specifically for those grindy control matchups where you'd need to be needing more cards than just the "one per turn" to keep up.
I would agree that I'm curious about the boarding for:
- Domri Rade
- Eidolon of the Great Revel
I believe that it makes sense to board out some spells when bringing in Domri as you want to ensure your "hits" have a high percentage and that you aren't lowering that possibility. I could also see this Walker being useful against GBx as it lets you grind with them somewhat with what was previous discussed and from the "fight" ability.
Eidolon is the real uncertain card in my books. I've seen it in "rush" Zoo sideboards and the main boards of some more burn heavy builds. What Matchups does this card shine in? Do we play this while ahead in hopes to stay ahead? Just trying to get a feel for this card when played in Zoo.
Finally picked up a playset of Tarmogoyfs, now all I need to finish my deck is two Noble Hierarchs and three Arid Mesas! What do we think of Chandra, Pyromaster right now? I'm running one of her along with one Elspeth and two Arlinns as my top-end, and she seems pretty good, but I haven't really had an opportunity to test her out that much.
Turns out I needed more domri in my life. Now I can make oaths fix mana, find beef, find silver bullets to decks, find end game walkers, or find removal. Score.
Lost Round 1 to Grixis Thopter Combo. Won game 1 by round 3, made bad sideboard choices (didn't expect the Combo basically) and got swarmed game two. Went back to sideboard but got no luck and mulled to 5 to see a land, then got stuck on that one land...oh well
Round 2 was Eldrazi-Tron. Just too slow to fight zoo. Won in 2
Round 3 was Jeskai Control- Lots of spot removal but was able to bounce back due to Dryad Arbor+ Ghor-Clan and Vines. Won in 2.
Overall, fun night. Thopter Combo lifegain/chumpblock was obviously a challenge. Vines of Vastwood was interesting but I'm wondering if I should just add another Ghor-Clan instead.
Lastly, I've been debating the Boar v Goyf for a long time now so I decided to try it last night. I was very impressed with Flinthoof Boar and I think I'll be using that going forward for small zoo. The ability to give the card haste, especially in the late game give it the advantage.
You can hate me.. I have played all day with 2x Arlinn, 1x Elspeth, 1x domri and and and 1x sarkhan vol. super friends for life. With this list I am gonna tryb2x oath
Good read, I found it useful as I'm going to be playing a list of that flavor tomorrow in Provincials. I currently have some number of Tarmogoyf in over Flinthoof Boar. I'm just worried about putting them away as they just seem too good if we go play against someone who's stabilized compared to the rest of the awful top decks in that scenario.

Seeing that Thopter Foundry and Sword of the Meek are obviously going to be problematic against out plan (always being to chump) it makes me think that Rancor may be needed on top of Ghor-Clan Rampager.
Any changes that you would suggest to my list?
