One quick question, I'm very close to completing Coco Zoo, however a lot of my meta is burn. How hard is game one going to be? I realize it's hard but is it going to be unwinable?
Yesterday I was able to beat burn (went 2-1-1 overall winning against UR delver, Naya Burn; drawing to Storm and losing to Jund). I play Thalia mainboard (its a meta call and its replacing 2 tarmos that I don't have currently) and collected company brought it. It wrecked his beat down plan, and later I deployed a Scavenging Ooze as I stood in 7 life.
So three things:
1.- Think about your meta. Net decking is fun, but if it doesnt respond to your meta then you are going to have a bad time.
2.- Thalia rocks.
3.- Scavenging Ooze late game is scary as ****.
I kinda forgot aboot that land tbh, and it does seem a bit interesting. I do like the +1 toughness aspect but I am not for sure if it is worth losing the extra pumps that Kessig can give.

Its a little weird when you want to use it. You want it you are using Knight of the Reliquary, because you never want anymore than a 1 of with it, because in the deck you want it, you want aggression more, so multiples of Treetop Village would be better. But you also dont want it with any mana dorks, because at that point wolf run is better.
So again, you want it only in a deck that wants to be aggressive, runs a low enough mana/dork count to not want wolf run, and it wants knight (Used more as a huge beater at 3 mana rather than utility as well.)
So its an extremely narrow case you want to use it.
Is Tribal Zoo working for you? The main issue would be is there a lot Blood Moon / Magus of the Moon being played against you? Naya is a pretty consistent build but not quite as explosive as Tribal can be and is more resilient to being Mooned

I prefer normal Naya right now. All the spells I want to cast with the exception of geist, are on color. With Pridemage and dromokas command I dont miss decay all that much, I havent missed snapcaster at all really, I've found that 4 bolt, 4 path, 2 command has been more than enough removal, so I dont miss tribal flames, and not having burn to face is pretty simple fix around with knight to wolfrun. Outta the board I miss negate/swan song as a catch all answer, but my board has been really really strong right now, so I'm not pining over it.
i have to go with 5c. this allows geist and rhino to be in the build. Not many fair decks can hand noble->geist->rhino->tribal/burn. those cards are hard to deal with and pump out serious damage. 5c also gives you access to just about anything you want in your sb. Naya is a pretty strong build but doesn't command answers ASAP like 5c.

new players as they show up maybe twice with some budget deck they've spent the week designing and testing only to be beaten into oblivion by expensive decks they cannot hope to obtain and I think this is a tragedy.
Burn doesn't seem too bad game 2 if you choose side in Kor Firewalker and Kitchen Finks. Knight of the Reliquary and Loxodon Smiter are out of bolt range by default. I haven't played a lot of burn, but it seems like a decent match up post board theoretically.
Edit: I can't seem to find the optimal sideboard. Which match ups are the worst for zoo?

Big mana decks like tron or bloom titan. Burn is also tough. Any high variance, non interactive combo deck is tuff without boarding.
The 4 mana walkers isnt worth mentioning anymore. Which is really sad. But a 4 mana 1/1 token generation/ pumper isnt that good anymore when the other 4 drops in modern trample over it, win the game with twins, or cast 2 dudes that kill off your walker. Ajani is still probably better than elspeth honestly, but 4 mana lightning helix isnt all that good if the 2 mana version isnt seeing much play anymore either. Additionally, locking down one peice of land or something isnt as game winning, as spending four mana for a bunch of 4/4s to attack with haste.
Domri is still really stupid good, but doesnt interact with a better card, collected company. They just need to print a naya 2-4 drop that has a powerful effect enough to warrent its use on the curve. WHich they havent. Gideon is close, but collected company is still just a better option.

Correct. Depending on the zoo type, straight up combo (think living end or ad neasum, not interactive combo like twin) is pretty hard to deal with, since were pretty un interactive aside from ooze and pridemage who go along way to help that out. Big mana decks are a problem if your not like, turn 4 I win aggro balls to the walls zoo. For very fast zoo decks they are less of a problem. Midrange 1 for 1 decks are also a problem, like jund/ or junk with life gain.
Zoos good matchups are control and tempo, and other aggro decks we can interact with (affinity vs burn). Basically anything blue that isnt a huge combo is an easy win for us.
That being said, how does the deck perform in tournaments. Is it capable of top 8ing at a Grand Prix? (I haven't seen any Zoo decks get past top 16 at big events.) I'm looking for a solid modern deck that is actually going to allow me to see placement at a Grand Prix.
Edit: I was definitely considering Domri Rade for the card advantage. I'm of the mindset that Zoo wants to optimize its card advantage to such a point where the creatures can't really be removed quickly enough. There is nothing bad that can come of a walker that can add an extra creature to your hand when creatures are roughly 50% of your deck.
I'm not saying run it in place of Collected Company. Run both.
Nope. Dont care bout yo angels.
I heart dromoka's.
Its not unwinnable, but not easy at all.

As for the utility lands, 1 is fine for none color producing (kessig wolf run, ghost quarter, tectonic edge) but having 2 is a bit more risky.
I currently run a Skarrg, the Rage Pits and Canopy. In place of Canopy you can run possibly a sejiri steppe, another fetch, or any other utility land.
