Like I said I also been struggling with UG in my store because it is full of midrange. I was in luck yesterday that I drew two favourable matches and won them both but when I got up against another midrange deck full of Path, Push, discard and all the good stuff I knew from the beginning that my chances were very very small.
Anyway I decided to get some cards to finish BG and I been testing it online for a couple games and I noticed that the midrange, full of removal and discard matchups are a lot more positive and easier to win. I am really pleased seeing that. Infect is the only deck that I have (sold all my other decks due to time constrictments) and now I basicly have two different decks but using the same mechanic. I always like playing the same deck to become very good at it and basicly be an expert with it.
Like Zann said Legacy UG Infect can take on anything because it is so efficient in setting up a hand, having acces to the strongest counters in the game and the best and cheapest pump aswell.
My opinion is that UB Infect is the faster deck but it needs a meta that plays other more solitair style decks and combo. WHen your opponent interacts with you a lot you don`t have efficient enough removal, hand setup and not even enough creatures to find new ones fast after you lose them.
I am confident that UG Infect would still struggle a lot even with Probe in a meta like these. Tom Ross also made a BG Infect list about a year ago when the meta was very removal heavy and midrange so I think BG Infect is a good meta call right now. Infect is still a very effective, dangerous and fast strategy that should not be underestimated we only need to adapt to the new meta. If it changes into a faster more aggro and combo style meta UG Infect will shine again.
Anyway these are my 2 cents and I will be rocking my fresh BG Infect deck next FNM.

@D90Dennis14 - The Sultai mana base is difficult. In BG Infect Plague Stinger becomes your pseudo-Blighted Agent. Flying is still fairly decent evasion in Modern. As Erich_Zann said, Phyrexian Crusader is your MVP. I beat Boros Burn last night dropping one T2 AND T3. The fact its 3CMC isn't an issue - it means Push needs to have Revolt triggered. Pro-Red AND White is still incredibly useful in the format.
@Erich_Zann - following FNM last night I made one slight adjustment to my list - gone to 4xBlossoming Defense and 3xGroundswell (It used to be 3 and 4). You're right - protection is more useful atm than all-in on pump. I'm thinking about 3xCollective Brutality in the SB instead of 1 and 2xKitchen Finks, thoughts? I'm thinking there's a fair amount of combo at the moment... Finks only ever really acts as a blocker and 4 life max, Brutality gives me discard + life + removal depending on what I need.
I went 2-2 at FNM last night.
R1 - 0-2 Grixis Control. She had T1 Ancestral Vision both games, and I made a mistake with the beginning of combat step and activating my Inkmoth Nexus vs Cryptic Command. I did learn something useful though . Our store guy is also a L2 Judge so was really helpful in explaining rules. This was the match that made me want more protection spells.
R2 - 1-2 GB Tron. Very close games. Sideboard Pithing Needle was valuable! It really is a race of having a creature down T1 or T2 and hoping they don't get an O-Stone or Ugin to wipe your board...
R3 - 2-1 Boros Burn. G1 I won with Noble Hierarch beats. G2 he had the (un?)luckiest Goblin Guides - 5 lands off of 6 triggers! G3 he had no answer for 2 Crusaders.
R4 - 2-1 Esper Control. G1 he had Geist of Saint Traft and 3xBlessed Alliance...

Collective brutality is a great card. I don't see why you wouldn't want more in the sideboard.
In terms of a grindy midrange metagame, I just saw this BG infect deck that got 3rd in a top 8. Granted it was in the Philippines which means that their meta may be different there, but check this out. The date should be read like this (DD/MM/YY) for those unfamiliar with MTGTop8.
It plays mainly disruption, then plays Become Immense. It also dies Blossoming Defense. Very strange build.

It's a mono black infect like the one in the first page with a green splash , played the deck for a while, burn, affinity, tron and infect were very bad matchups (which was basically the tier-1 at the time) good vs combo and even vs BGx midrange (before fatal push), it's more a control deck à la 8-rack with 8 infecters for racks and inkmoths for mutvaults
With its recent placement do you see it going anywhere in the current meta? UG Infect isn't a thing at the moment and Burn can't hit Phyrexian Crusader.
This is what I am using now.
I always like to play a lot of four offs for consistency but I am thinking of tweaking the list a little bit.
I think 4 Fatal Push to start with is a bit much so I am thinking of putting 2 in the sideboard and replace them with 2 Apostle`s Blessing.
The reason for me going to B over U is not the Phyrexian Crusador but the support spells are, I think, a lot better than what U has to offer. We need efficient removal and looking at your opponents hand is always nice. We miss Gitaxian Probe and we have been looking at a lot of replacements so I think that Inquisition of Kozilek will do a very good job in this meta. You get to see their hand and you can take out the removal that they have. If we need to pay mana to see hands I rather do something with it, so instead of drawing a card I prefer to take a card out of their hand.
I have to be honest and say that your list looks pretty sweet with the Ichorclaw Myr.
It is nice to see that people are trying to adept the deck to the new midrange removal heavy meta. Time will show wich Infect list has the best results. I also think that with all the removal flaoting around that we need more creatures.
Honestly, the amount of decks with discard and also MD chalice of the void leaves no other choice for UG lists to run at least 2 MD Spell Pierce. Also you need outs to a resolved Chalice. Either Viridian Corrupter and/or Wild Defiance. Yes, the deck slows down a bit, but it's no big deal since the meta is rather slow as well.
A UG list should also run Dryad Arbor atm to suprise block a Death's Shadow or even kill a low life player.
I don't see what makes BG so much better than UG. The lightning Bolt count is rather low atm (compared to other times), so there goes Phyrexian Crusader's big plus. Never thought I that BG is bad in any way, so don't get me wrong. It has a lot of upsides, but there have been better times to play it over UG.
Looking at the Meta at mtgtop8: 12% Shadow decks (grixis, jund, bug), 11% Eldrazi decks (bant or tron), 5% Affinity, 4% Tron, 4% Valakut, 3% Storm, . Against all of those decks you want to be as fast as possible. The bad news reading this is that Burn is at 6%, where BG is truly the better deck.
The numbers on Modernnexus differ a bit, but the tendency is the same.
Don`t you think we need to up our creature count by atleast 4? I have a feeling our boys are just dying faster than we can find them.
If you think Phyrexian Crusader is to slow, wich it might be, we can always replace him by Ichorclaw Myr for example. I think B has the better cards because what do we replace?
Blighted Agent, this is a big loss that is not replaceble, Plague Stinger is the closest we can get. Spell Pierce, good in the first 4 turns, after that most of the time paying two extra is not that hard for most decks. Twisted Image, good but very narrow. Distortion Strike, also a good card but a Rancor can replace that card, also if you want evasion you can always play Apostle`s Blessing.
Thanks for the reply it is really helpfull. I agree about all the things you said it is just that I am trying to make something work against the meta in my store because I am having a really hard time. Maybe it will work maybe not, I bought some of the cards I did not have so I can go B or U whatever I feel like or think is better at the moment.
Also I agree that Rancor is not better than Distortion Strike so that feels like a downgrade but I will see how it goes.
I am testing a BG list without Phyrexian Crusader so it will still be fast but it will have the spells that I listed above instead of the standard U spells that we play. Also I got 2 Abrupt Decay in the sideboard.
I will try out BG Infect this Friday just to see how it goes and I will report back ofcourse.
With 4 ichorclaw, you ought to consider at least 1-2 rancor. A 6/3 trampler when blocked is nothing to sneeze at. If not, necropede might be better, considering that when it dies, it can double as a removal spell for x/1 creatures. Either creature, though, is a non-bo with corrupter, so you might want to consider the new cycling artifact destruction card as a replacement.
Sure, go for it! Good Luck. However you probably should play Crusader, its the best creature in the GB deck.
Maybe you want to try a traditional UG list, but put one overgrown tomb in it as well as 4 discard spells and see how that works?
Yeah all the shocking is what worries me and I don`t like using more then two colours in a deck that is why I am always playing aggro. I love the aggro gameplay and using almost a mono colour deck is something I really like.
I just want to try it out and see how it plays against the meta now. I did not play for about 6 months because I was very busy with training for MMA fights but I injured my finger pretty badly so I have more than enough time to play Magic now

I have to get this out because I am feeling very good since yesterday after FNM.
I did not play Magic for about 6 months so when I started going to FNM`s again I noticed that the meta is full of discard and removal and it made my life playing Infect pretty difficult. I was getting destroyed left and right, I also made mistakes so I am not blaming cards or bans or whatever. After last week I talked to the store manager and some players about maybe trying out BG Infect. They said go for and I thought well why not. If you can`t beat them just join them
The cards that were underperforming for me were the blue spells so it was not hard to see them go. Well ladies and gentlemen here it comes.... I did not win but got third place out of 22 players. Maybe not a great thing but for me it felt great after all these weeks getting my ass kicked and I had some very fun games. Also the games that I lost were very close games because of the B cards in my deck that were really doing a lot and very hard work all evening. Thinking back I know that if those cards were U the games would never have been that close.
These were the scores.
BG Infect vs Junk 2-0
BG Infect vs Bant Eldrazi 2-1
BG Infect vs UWR Control 1-2
I am thinking of making some changes. My store is full of decks using creatures and I see a lot of Eldrazi running around.
1. Take out Misty Rainforest for an Overgrown Tomb because this deck uses a lot more B spells that the UG version uses U spells so I think the extra B producing mana would be a good thing.
2. 2 Apostle`s Blessing for 2 Fatal Push OR 2 Apostle`s Blessing for 2 Abrupt Decay and move the Apostle`s Blessing to the sideboard.
3. I am taking out Kitchen Finks for Phyrexian Crusader. He is heavy on the mana but the last matchup the guy told me that he was very afraid that a Phyrexian Crusader would come down because he had no way of getting it off the board. Red and White removal are still played a lot so bringing him in will be a good move I think.
4. Taking Stonewood Invocation or Pithing Needle out of the sideboard for another Graffdigger`s Cage OR take out Graffdigger`s Cage and just play 2 Relic of Progenitus. What is your guys opinion about Graffdigger`s Cage and Relic of Progenitus? I been thinking a lot about what would work better in Infect so all the help is appreciated.
5. How about adding a Colletive Brutality or two?
I am not saying this is the new Infect build, I am not saying I am a great player but I had a very good feeling playing this deck, I never felt out played like I was with the UG version and I had a ton of fun playing this deck. Also the look on your opponents face when you go Turn 1 Overgrown Tomb, Inquisition of Kozilek and then in turn two you cast Glistener Elf with protection up is very satisfying.
Anyway thanks for reading, all comments are welcome and keep the discussion going!
Why no Thoughtseize ?
Is the life-loss such an issue ? (when everyone played Gitaxian Probe it didn't seem like a problem)
Also the deck seems a bit low on pump spells, I can see adding some Groundswell over Apostle's Blessing as you already have 8x protection spells and Rancor for blockers.
Ah yes good old Groundswell I been thinking about that aswell. I get what you are saying because when we were in top deck mode yesterday and I needed just one pumpspell it sometimes came a bit late. Thoughtseize I was looking at but I saw all the BG lists use Inquisition of Kozilek so I thought this must be the better version, I think it is because almost all spells in Modern are 3 CMC and less. After playing some Eldrazi yesterday I started to think that Thoughtseize might be the better card, like you said the life loss is not that big of a deal and you can take everything you want.
Thanks for the feedback I will take a look at changing Apostle`s Blessing with some more pump. I am a very big fan of Become Immense and that card closed two games for me yesterday so I might go for a third one. I played three in my UG build. I also would like to play some more Fatal Push mainboard because that card was also a true All Star yesterday.
Like I said I also been struggling with UG in my store because it is full of midrange. I was in luck yesterday that I drew two favourable matches and won them both but when I got up against another midrange deck full of Path, Push, discard and all the good stuff I knew from the beginning that my chances were very very small.

Anyway these are my 2 cents and I will be rocking my fresh BG Infect deck next FNM.

What's your list looking like?
Wouldn't a Blue splash just to play Blighted Agent together with Glistener Elf and Plague Stinger be a better alternative to the 3-cmc knight ?

Aaron Basich came 26th/856 at the SCG Modern Open in Dallas. He went 11-4 with this list:

Interesting to note the Birds of Paradise and MB Spellskite. He's gone more protection (9 "hexproof" spells) + 2 Spell Pierce).
