I watched that yesterday, it seems his opponent had never played Lantern before, as he never conceded when in the lock, and a few other mistakes.
As a side note, Adrian has a goofy graveyard set up, if I were to do that in a game I would knock my graveyard on the ground all the time when resting my arms on the table.
It's Magus of the Moat, SCG is wrong (probably because they didn't even know this Magus was a card)

I really like that transformational sideboard into creatures with upside. It'll really tax the other sides ability to sideboard correctly, since they usually want to take out creature removal.
I dunno if it's as strong in a top 8 with the lists provided to both players, but it sure crushed this event otherwise.

Semi-retired Lantern Player. I try to get out to play every once in awhile!
Sullivan had one of the worst draws I've ever seen. Basically a wiff on stirrings and drew 4 lands running. Ran 3 leyline and didn't see them in 4 matches. (one was sideboard G1 and 2)

After testing with out leylines, I'm leaning towards them not being needed. When you get them on turn 0 they are gas, but when you don't they are pretty sub optimal. Honestly I would rather have access to more discard or creature removal. Also I think spellskite deserve a fresh look. Not going to go over all the uses since this forum has pretty much covered it, but I think it is still a pretty relevant card against quite a few stategies. Also running 4 Mishra's baubles. I think this is a more consistent way to combat targeted discard, while keeping the Mana cost and color pie as lean as possible. Let me do a few more rounds of testing and see where it goes. So far I am 3-0 all against grixis shadow, seems like every one is on that deck.
What does it do? It will just eventualy die to a valakut trigger, or will just get ignored
I can't see Teeg doing anything? It's kind of good against Karn, Gifts, Past in Flames, but overall seems worse than a Needle against Tron and not really the best way to combat storm either way.
yeah i'm not a huge fan of sullivan's list. seems like it is trying to do too much.
I got unreasonably excited when I saw Magus of the Moon on the list, then got really sad 10 minutes later when he milled Magus of the Moat. Been trying to find a way to make blood moon work in this build since it hoses a lot of other strategies.

There's quite a bit of actual playable cards there that a single Teeg stops. Now, I'm not going to say that it's correct or incorrect, as I have zero data to go off of other than Adrian seemingly doing well with it, but I think that it's pretty cool. Remember, there was a time that people poo-poo'd Padeem as well.

This a million times. I remember when Padeem was first spoiled I brought it up either here or in the facebook group and was shot down because he costs too much, now he's basically a sideboard staple. I've been running Teeg a couple months now and he's an all-star in the tron matchup, especially as long as you can keep them off an Ulamog.

Definitely agree with this. We have access to more efficient cards than gaddock that don't require white. Same for padeem, he's basically just a spellskite for 4 Mana that can't be grabbed with stirrings. A general rule of thumb for me is that if a card is only good enough to run one it's probably not good enough to go in the deck.
Yea, I am kinda feeling the same way. Teeg seems to be a trap card. Most of the times he won't be good. Same might have been said about Padeem. I played Padeem as a 2-of ine the board but I have actually removed it entirely as I felt like it would come in way too seldom. The Gx tron MUs I am not actually keeping them off of threats. After a lot of testing the way to beat them seems to be mana denial. Never let them get the 7th land and keep them off tron. Surgicals and GQs all the way.
Will be testing magus of the moat and I might be finding room for defense grid if more decks start running counters, or the shadow decks keep being averywhere.
I can see your arguments for things like Teeg, Padeem, and Magus in that they can't be grabbed via Stirrings and that there are artifacts that can do the same things.
The way I see it, though, is that they diversify our answers. One of the problems here as of late for us is that our cards are kind of linear - They're pretty much all non-creature artifacts. Thus, Kolaghan's Command, Ceremonious Rejection, Stubborn Denial, etc., are great against us. What these creatures do is supplement our artifact suite, but are harder to answer because it forces the opponent to also diversify their answers to our answers.
Again, I'm not going to say with absolute certainty that it's correct, but it seems to be at least worth discussing, if not testing. I just got done testing vs. Grixis Shadow tonight at the LGS (except they ran Kolaghan's Commands) and it was miserable That was before Magus, though. If I'd drawn a Magus instead of either of the Bridges I drew, I would have won, hands down.
