It helps against Infect, Boggles, Ad Nauseam (if they don't have Slaughter Pact), and Scapeshift and can act as a blocker.
What does Spellskite do against Ad Naus / Scapeshift? Sorry not seeing the interaction.
Against those decks you can redirect the damage to Spellskite, requiring them to have more lands to kill you.
Thats really it? So I have to pay 2 life to activate (unless I have an active egg)?
Before I started playing the deck I was worried about my combo MU. My concerns were validated when I felt like I had my pants down when playing my first 2 rounds last night (Storm and Ad Naus). I had 2 TKS in the board and they did WORK. I'm going to play 2 main as well as 2 sideboard. To put it simply a 4/4 disruptive body is just relevant in every MU. I will still have a spellskite main but will move any additional copies to the sideboard.
Whats the best way to combat LD from your opponent post board? I've heard cards like crucible and LftL are trap cards.
I was writing a whole report about my recent deck changes and it was spoiled by connection demons.
I've been running 3 thought knot's in the main and 1 in the board. It's been better than you would think. I went 5-0 in a mtgo league and was able to wreck a scapeshift player's hand with them. And was able to get the crumble to dust before it was played on me. I also used them to mess up a jeskai ascendancy combo players plans last night in paper magic.
Last night I went 3-1 in paper magic and lost to a favorable matchup (goblins) where he just had the good cards. Wins were against Jeskai ascendancy combo, grixis control and merfolk (merfolk was very close)
I board Emrakul out most matches, but even in those he sees more play game 1 than you would think. About once an event someone durdles enough game 1 to give enough time to bring him out. If eye is banned than I will put in another Ulamog in his place though.
food for thought:
9 mana plus eye means you can fetch up and play a thought knot for enough turns to ensure victory.
when you assemble tron, thought knot can be played and clear their hand of things to allow ostone to go undamaged or can back it up with a map play and fetch.
eye of ugin means that if you play a thought-knot, they really can't remand it to any effect other than to draw a card you get to look at.
TKS plays easily through land hate except for blood moon.
I run 2 forest in the MB and might go up to 3 if eye is banned. I find that some will go out of their way at all costs to GQ you 2+ times, wrecking their own mana base. It's a bit of a surprise when you keep pulling forests out of your deck just to play your threats on curve anyway because you have the time.

Pithing Needle is just fantastic in our SB, it's good agains't everything that hurts us. Should be staple in all Tron SB.
PN can also help with the Ad Nauseam MU, by naming Lightning Storm, Lotus Bloom and Pentad Prism.

This doesn't work. Bloom and Prism are mana abilities...
The only thing you could name is Lightning Storm and, heck, dreadship reef so they can't put storage counters on it...

It works on fetchlands, because they are not mana abilities. Remember - you only name the pithing needle target after it has resolved and not when you cast it. If your opponent doesn't crack his fetch while needle is on the stack, he cannot crack it after it has resolved in response.

Who names fetchlands though? Sounds like the mark of an amateur if I do say so myself (sorry if that sounds mean). Virtually every deck has a target for Pithing Needle, but it takes true prowess and knowing your meta to know where and when Pithing Needle is needed. Merfolk, for example, has plenty of targets for Pithing Needle (Aether Vial mainly since Cursecatcher would likely be sided out), but you'd be a fool for siding it in over Chalice of the Void and Nature's Claim. Adversely, Pithing Needle is often the ONLY thing that can save me from Borborygmos Enraged in Grishoalbrand until I can stabilize.
IMO Chalice of the Void is a star SB card in the current meta because it hoses Affinity, Infect, Ad Nauseam, Living End, Storm, Merfolk, and Burn.
Man since moving to 4x TKS to main and 3 Spellskite board, this deck seems to hang a little better in the current meta. That stop gap it provides (blocks and steals a card from there hand) gives tron a bit more wiggle room to work with. Loving it so far.
is there any point in playing ulamog and emrakul if eye of ugin gets banned?
i would guess no.
i have 3 slots, what to do with them?
In my personal opinion - Emrakul ..no, but Ulamog ..yes. Emrakul being a 15 cost, is just far too big to cast now ..but a 10 cost Ulamog is no problem at all, really.
I'm keeping my 2 Ulamogs in the MB and might even throw in either a 3rd Wurmcoil, or 3rd Ulamog in, as well, so it'll be a little bit less harder to just top deck 'em.
Ps, fingers are crossed they don't ban Eye! I just got me the Expedition =P

I agree.
I run two MB Ulamog right now and I plan on keeping them there even if Eye gets banned. They aren't terribly difficult to cast and they have a big enough impact that they still warrant a spot in the deck. I haven't run Emrakul since the Twin ban and if we lose Eye I'll be even less likely to bring him back in to the 75. Though if an Eye banning increases the amount of Cryptic Command decks out there Emrakul may still have a place.
It would be more sensible to ban Eldrazi Temple. Eye of Ugin is easier to shutdown as it is a legendary land(can only have one on board), and banning it would hurt Tron too.
Against those decks you can redirect the damage to Spellskite, requiring them to have more lands to kill you.

Pithing Needle naming Ghost Quarter is fantastic, especially in the mirror where you should be siding Pithing Needle in anyway. It's great when their game plan is Ghost Quarter+Life from the Loam/Crucible of Worlds. If you can afford 1-2, I prefer Crucible of Worlds because they work with your own Ghost Quarters, Ancient Stirrings finds them, they are colorless, and aren't as susceptible to GY hate as Life from the Loam is.

But if the Eye Of Ugin gets banned, you could replace it with Ghost Quarter or with a basic Forest.
