Pretty sure that's Joe Lossett, he's been streaming GW Tron on his twitch channel for about a week now. Last I saw his deck the day before SCG it looked like this
In the likely event that after SOI Eye of Ugin is no longer on the table, do you guys think our tron decks will transition to running more threats to compensate? such as additional wurmcoils/ulamog's? Would the deck even need to add threats? given that a few threats is generally all we need to firmly close out the game.
Conduit of Ruin? Pretty much an Eye on a stick. Testing with 3 of them MB along with 3 Newlamogs and 3 wurmcoils. T4 newlamog is fun to do...when it happens.
After seeing Joe Losset's GW Tron build on SCG i decided to give it a shot in MTGO.
Weird to say, but it actually feels like GW Tron is better than RG Tron at the moment. With so many "non pyroclasmable" creatures around the hard removal in path to exile is just insanely good!
Also i tested 1 Ghostly Prison MD and 2 SB against any kind of aggro strategy and i played out pretty well too. I am seriously thinking about shifting to GW tron for the time being.
A question about Losset's Build though: Why 3 Razorverge Thicket? We usually want to assemble Tron ASAP and that also applies to GW Tron, doesn't it? The ability to get Tron online and still have an untapped GW Source seems important. More important than having a GW Source before assembling tron (I mean, there are 8 eggs in every list and i have not had any trouble fixing my mana so far)
The Scarsland can be used without damage, though the eventual problem that it comes into play tapped is acceptable when you can use it on the first turns as a painless coloursource. Later in the game you will probably always find an egg to fix your mana, which is ok with Tron online. And one Brushland to find an untapped white source is still in his list.
I'm sure Ugin was cut because of how lackluster it is against eldrazi and affinity, which are the main two decks currently running rampant in the big tournament environment.
Recently built this deck and have been having a lot of success with it on a testing site, played it for the first time in a Modern event Saturday and went 2-2 with one round lost to infect and the other to azban exile company (with bad draws games 1 and 2), wins against red white burn and and jeskai.
Feels like the deck could maybe use a 5 drop, also help with board tech (both in/out versus matches and suggestions for changes) appreciated.
Terminus looks good with fast linear aggro decks like eldrazi and affinity dominating. Worst case you'll one for one someone or have a 'bad' top deck. In case there are no creatures, it doesn't matter too much since the deck is busy deploying / searching lands anyway. The nice thing is that Terminus can be cast off a chromatic star / sphere so we have access to a sweeper without compromising turn 3 Tron. Ensnaring Bridge is there as an extra answer to aggro strategies and to durdle behind with OP planeswalkers. Probably belongs in the sideboard, but with current eldrazi numbers might as well play it main. Too bad there isn't an effect such as Conch Horn to manipulate the Terminus, but I still think its a good card that this deck can actually hard cast later on. The Chromatic Stars/Sphere can randomly find one during your opponents turn, it would be sweet if there was some reliable way of scrying.

I'm not sure it belongs in Tron at all. I typically have 5-7 cards in my hands until the lategame, so everything will be able to attack at all times..
This is a concern for me as well, not because of the top-end bombs but because of the number of lands that can get stuck in your hand combined with the draw triggers of chromatic star/sphere. Might replace them for Path to Exiles if they are indeed too difficult get online. Do you have any suggestions?
You could stop cycling the eggs immediately and instead leave them in play to reduce your cards in hand. But I guess with 4 Karn, 3 Ugin, 4 Terminus and 2 Ulamog there will be a lot of high CMC cards stuck in your hand that you cannot ged rid of in the early turns. I would suggest Timely Reinforcements instead.

Maindeck Timely Reinforcements sounds like a good way to stall the board. You might occasionally get a Terminus after a Timely Reinforcement, but I don't think this matters too much. In the early game we want to stall the game instead of win the game. Terminus could be really sweet against aggressive mimic/endless one hands.
Horizon Canopy could also trigger instant speed Terminus in a pinch, but the likelihood is probably too low to sack a land for it.
Thought-Knot Seer takes your threats from your hand, so we're already required to top-deck answers. Terminus is the best topdeck against Eldrazi because it cantrips with Thought-Knot Seer, gets around Reality Smashers discard trigger and answers aggressive hands with multiple mimics/endless ones. One weakness is against manlands (cranial on a blinkmoth nexus or pump spells on inkmoth nexus). I would like to address this with something more than than 2 Ghost Quarters. Perhaps just running additional Path to Exiles in the sideboard would help there, but maybe there are better solutions.
PS: Does anyone have the exact G/W Tron list Joe Lossett played?
He usually goes like: Vial in a Sculler, cloudshift him in response to 1st trigger. in the end 2 cards from my hand are gone. Same with Flickerwisp his Sculler/Maggot. In addition to this he plays Thoughtseize and IoK.
Now i am aware that Torpor orb would completely disable his deck. But i don't want to commit 2 Sideboard slots to just his deck only as he also plays Jund and jeskai control. You could say his deck is for me, what Tron is for him. He goes on complete tilt when he plays against my tron deck.
That's what i said... But i don't want to invest 2 Slots of my SB just for this deck that he may not even play. Something more versatile would be great but i can't think of something. Sadly i don't own any Leylines, they would also work well against the various Burn Decks in my local meta.
Torpor Orb is versatile. You can bring it in against any Chord decks and CoCo. Plus any deck with 4 Snapcasters plus stuff like Resto or Clique etc pp.
Makes a good lock with Spellskite. Otherwise, Burn has Destructive Revelry, Infect has Nature's Claim, Ad Nauseam has Slaughter Pact and Eldrazi has Dismember and/or Path.
That Eldrazi Tron makes me wonder if it's viable cutting down on the Tron Shell to make it fit with more of the aggressive meta. I mean I'm still
really new to tron and modern in general, so I don't want to be speaking blasphemy or something haha. And it doesn't necessarily have to be
adding more eldrazi, maybe just more threats overall that curve into our usual bigger threats. I am hesitant to say lets add more eyes of ugin
or eldrazi temples until we find out what happens with bannings in april.
Keep the tron lands, keep the eggs, keep the maps, and keep the ancient stirrings.
12 Tron Lands
4 Groves
4 Ancient Stirring
4 Expedition Maps
4 Stars
4 Spheres
Keep Wurmcoil Engines, which is still just a house especially on turn 3.
Keep 2-4 Spellskites in the 75, still solid
Do we still need Karn?

HOWEVER: I have serious trouble beating the brew of one of my friends. He plays a deck that resembles the BW Hatebear deck. Tidehollow Sculler, Flickerwisp, Restoration Angel. Now the "twist" in this is: Thought-Knot Seer, Brain Maggot, Cloudshift.
He usually goes like: Vial in a Sculler, cloudshift him in response to 1st trigger. in the end 2 cards from my hand are gone. Same with Flickerwisp his Sculler/Maggot. In addition to this he plays Thoughtseize and IoK.
