Hello Eldrazi friends. I just popped in to ask advice on how to try to improve this matchup. I'm going to SCG Louisville this weekend and want to be adequately prepared. I'll be playing basically Jon Rosum's Jeskai Queller mainboard (for those unfamiliar) with some sideboard changes as needed. I feel like the plan of Rejection + Verdict + Disdainful Stroke has failed me enough in the past that I'd like to try something different.
How do you guys, as Eldrazi Tron players, feel about the matchup? Is it bad enough for me that you think it's worth me even trying to board differently for it? I've made considerations for even playing Blood Moon or Magus of the Moat to try to handle the matchup (the later of which is definitely bad, but it was just a thought).
Should be a pretty good matchup for you. I've not done that well against Jeskai. You seem to have all the tools to beat us.
Blood Moon can be good and will win you some games, no doubt, but it's not a silver bullet and doesn't seem like a good fit with three colors.
Elspeth is powerful but seems kinda slow. Nahiri can be pretty hard to deal with, but she may not fit your plan.
Electrolyze doesn't really scare me.
Other than that, I'd try really hard to counter Reality Smashers...
I was actually planning on dropping the Elspeth for the weekend and playing 2 Gideon, Ally of Zendikar since it provides blockers, but also let's me turn the corner faster than Elspeth. I guess I just feel like you can negate all of my answers so easily. Chalice is big game against me, and Cavern completely takes the counters out of the equation.
On Blood Moon and other mana denial
Played two games last night where I was hit with Blood Moon and 2 more where I was hit with Spreading Seas. While annoying, they were honestly not that big of a deal. They didn't stop me from generating mana and having 2 Wastes was more or less good enough. They definitely slowed me, but they were not, as The Ceaseless Hunger pointed out, any kind of silver bullet. Unless you meant a can of Coors Light, in which case, they were unpleasant and somewhat ineffectual by themselves.
My point being, that unless you are playing a deck that can actively stop you from searching for lands with Map, something with Leonin Arbiter and Aven Mindcensor and the like, mana denial by itself is not an adequate plan against the deck, largely only hurting stuff like Karn and above and putting some limits on the value of Walking Ballista.
Just watched Chris O'Brien on E-Tron take down Harlen Firer at the SCG Louisville Modern 2 games to 0. Both were 6-0. Game 2 capped off with Big U coming in and putting the lights out on Firer.
Nice.

and now he lost the last round vs bant eldrazi. feelsbadman
Bant Eldrazi is at least favored in the matchup in my experience, it's just better at getting TKS/Smasher out faster and Displacer is amazing lategame and cheaper than Endbringer.
Looks like O'Bryant is 7th after Day 1 and Dan Musser is 8th. I'm assuming Musser is on E-Tron but I'm not sure. Lets hope they are there for the top 8 at the end of the day.

Does anyone else get nervous seeing our deck's increasing success?
Yeah over here our team has been fearful of its visibility then success since 4 months ago. Currently hedging with an alternate midrange (rock) and combo (burn) and soon another faster deck against the wider meta.
But no, I don't think it's worth worrying much about a ban ... what are you basing the success results on? If you look at tcdeck.net (tools -> tier deck; note: results lag for 3-4 days) and look at the metagame there (it's a lot less tainted by the problem that is mtgo results) eldrazitron is not #1 for months and still aint for this month (taken over by BG Rock). I doubt it's causing an eldrazi winter to warrant a ban or response of sorts.
17 copies of E-Tron in making it to Day 2 of SCG Louisville!!! Wow!!!
Looks like we have 1 pilot in the Final 8 as well. Almost had a second.
Hope we take the trophy.

Went into day 2 in 4th place, lost 2 win and ins to t8 to the drazi taxes guy and then i lost to clay on camera
Deck is great, also played harlan day 2, matchup is literally as easy as a matchup can be, hopefully this geist deck takes off to make drazi even better positioned
Shameless self plug if anyone is interested in learning the deck: twitch.tv/thursdayisgo

And if it is, your thoughts on Trading Post in your SB, rationale and how many times and which decks did you side it in for? Thanks and congrats on the good showing. SO CLOSE.

Notice his SB, a couple of non traditional cards in Witchbane Orb and Blight Herder. I'd love to hear the rationale behind those as well.

I've been running 2x Witchbane Orb in my board for a couple weeks now. Wanted to switch things up. It's an "I win" button in some matchups. I was playing a Mill deck, got to game 3, dropped an early Orb, and he said "lol ggs" and conceded on the spot. It's good against GBx decks too and obviously red decks. I'm trying to get to where my board is impactful and doesn't ever feel like I'm putting something in just because it's better than what I have.
Actually, my current list has a lot of differences from the standard list. I'll post more once I've done enough testing to have more of an opinion. It really takes a lot of games to figure anything out due to the large number of different decks and the fact that 1x and 2x cards just don't get drawn enough, especially out of the board.
I've been having a lot of success with my list, both online and locally. List here.
Locally I've gone 20-2 in my last 22 matches, having won literally 17-19 in a row now. There's been quite a bit of lucky draws when things were looking rough, but I do think the warping wails have given me some much needed interaction/removal game 1. I'm not missing mind stone in the slightest, in fact I think after playing so long with it and now going without, I think mind stone can be a double edged sword. Yes, it does smoothe out some games by giving ramp or an extra card, but there is a definite downside to running the non-interactive card. It's basically lands 25-26 that can cycle. The amount of games where the deck performs too clunky, or the number of times I can't get the mana to cast the cards in my hand, is extremely small. There's no way id be winning so often if the deck wasn't operating smoothly.
Online, I've gone 22-13, for a 62.8% winrate. These have been friendly leagues as I was trying to earn 23 tix for a second cavern online (I got it now!), but it's easily been the best stretch for my winrate with the deck. I can give somewhat detailed reports on these 35 matches.
How was Ulamog for you and about how many games did you play him in? Thanks.
