I think you have to consider that it costs $$ to enter tournaments. So with this in mind why skimp on buying Noble Hierarch's and put yourself at a significant disadvantage? Waiting until 2017 to buy Noble Hierarch is going to lose you money overall..
Engineered Explosives is a key card to the deck for multiple reasons. Its a flexible spell that enables us to win against all types of decks that we really have no business beating - ie. Suicide Zoo, Burn - set to 1 and get 2 for 1's, stem the blood flow and stabilize. Extra removal for Infect. It's insane against Affinity and allows us to steal game 1's. BGx - I often get 3-for-1's as they have so many 2 cmc creatures these days. Blow up pyromancer ascension, blood moon, ensnaring bridge and all sorts of otherwise hard to remove hosers. Also - often it doesn't hurt us at all (sometimes it hits dorks - but its worth it to remove Death's Shadow - 2 goblin guides etc).
Hi guys, question about the budget option for Cavern. Aether Hub or Corrupted Crossroads? Or anything else? I know cavern is best against counter magic, but I'm expecting a reprint in MM17 so I don't want to buy 4 of them now. (reprint in mystics or rare?)

I think reflecting pool also does well.
Definitely. I should have mentiomed that earlier. Lol
I've been playing this deck online for a while and it's super fun!
Now, I'm thinking about slowly buying the deck to play it on paper. I want to save money the most possible (because I have other decks and Magic is expensive...) so I can wait for a while. Either way, I'm waiting for Cavern of Souls to be reprinted before buying the whole deck.
What do you guys think I should invest in first in the mean time before Cavern gets reprinted? (I already have Nobles and Paths)
I assume that one of the best time to buy the Eldrazi creatures from Gatewatch is when they rotate out of standard during Spring 2017 right?
Also one of the things that worries me is the bannings...
Why isn't Vapor snag played as a 1-of or 2-of? It's a good tempo card, cheap interaction, can protect our creatures (huge blowouts with removal against Reality smasher), great against infect, and in rare cases can give value off our ETB effects.

I would be shocked if they banned anything from this deck anytime soon. Bant eldrazi will need to be doing way better in tournaments before anything gets considered for banning. The eldrazi cards are pretty inexpensive generally. The only big money cards are noble, EE, and cavern.

Hey Sam, how good is Lead the Stampede in this deck?
To be honest, i've never once felt bad drawing it.It'll get you 2-3 creatures each time you cast it. Great card engine imo.
Opp also usually gets a shock when i cast it. Just when they think i'm out of gas.
What do you all think of Selfless spirit as a 1-of or 2-of? It fits a similar role as spellskite, in that it's a cheaper card than our threats that eats removal (other than path). However, it has the benefit of not being a dead draw compared to spellskite - a selfless spirit backed by 2 noble hierarchs can represent a real clock.
I think it shores up some weaknesses in the Scapeshift matchup in particular. It allows TKS to attack into Obstinate baloths without offering a trade, and it protects against Anger of the Gods. It also allows us to protect a Displacer + TKS lock. Also of course, any flying body is useful against affinity.

I think it's a great idea. Not sure why people aren't playing it. Have you tested it at all?
Unfortunately I don't have easy access to them since they recently spiked and my LGS is out of them. Perhaps someone could test them as spellskites #2 and #3?

Maybe bcos it's within bolt/lavamancer/electrolyze range? Spellskite at least needs 2 spells to be killed or a path. It also acts as a shield for our bigger creatures from path. Usually we don't need the indestructible trigger, since we survive everything except damnation n wrath. If SS has flash, then maybe it would be more useful. Avacyn is good but 3WW is too much of a mana strain?
That's definitely true, but I'm happy to have the Selfless spirit eat a bolt if it means that my displacer won't have to (or if I'm swinging with a TKS into a 1/X blocker). I'm not really worried about damnation or wrath because we're favored against the decks that play those anyway. I think it's probably a meta call - I'd certainly play it if I was facing a bunch of Scapeshift, Affinity, and Infect.

the spellskite can also eat a bolt and survive. 2 generic mana and puts in a lot of work against affinity, infect and scapeshift as well. but then again, no decklist is ever set in stone.
give it a try and do update us on your experiences.
Hi guys!! Merfolk player here. I want to try bant eldrazi because I love decks that have 50% against the field. Before playing I read all the articles I found and I would like you to guide me a bit since you have been playing this deck for months
- wich are the bad pairings? Ad nauseam infect and affinity and titanshift are difficult right? And is burn and tron good pairings ( I read a lot different opinions)?
- In g1 do yoy mulligan your first 7 if you dont have stirrings temple or mana dork? I know in g2 and 3 you can keep hands if they have hate but im not sure if you mulligan a hand without those...
My main is the tipicall one with a dismember and my sideboard would look like this:
3 explosives
3 cages
2 stony silence
1 worship
2 stubborn dennial
I need 4 more cards. What would you add? I was thinking about 2 disdainful stroke for tron and valakut. I read that pascal and BBD think that we.dont need blessed alliance, but a lot of people are playing it, what do you think?
Sorry for the long post. Thanks for the help
Timely reinforcements/Thragtusk? Depend on ur meta though.. i have lotsa burn from whr i'm from. So TR n leyline of sanc. 1 enchantment removal for blood moon.

Never have trouble to beat infect, it's 50/50 for me, affinity is also winable (40/60). Ad nauseam and titanshift are bad. Merfolk is also a very bad MU for us (fast clock and slow us with seas).
i'm personnaly in love with blessed alliance, the card is very usefull in a lot of MU (mirror, burn, infect, bogle)
The mulligan rule for this deck is "mull if you can't drop a threat in the 3 first turns" (temple, noble and stirring help to that)
