He did well indeed. However that metagame was incredibly bounded so i wouldn't attach to that one very hard.
However i found interesting that he went for Chalice in the sb. I have yet to test it but it seems rather promising in the right metagame.
The meta in Worlds ended up being very Abzan heavy (which ironically favoured Bant Eldrazi pretty well).
The Chalice plan has been debated here before. Some are for, some against. I think it's a meta call. I like it as a T2 play for 1 against decks like Burn, Infect that have lots of 1CMC spells. Also works well on the play for 0 against Affinity. It is a non-bo with Hierach, PtE and cards like Stubborn Denial. So you'll need to SB well.
As a member of the Jeskai contingency, I have been tasked with revealing one of the latest cards from Kaladesh that you folks are likely interested in knowing about.
And Snapcaster Mage told me to give you his regards.
I play both decks - the Jeskai sb is so stretched and cannot really accommodate such narrow cards (which wont do anything with cavern in play anyway). I think id rather use those sb slots for more wrath effects or cards like Big Elspeth if I wanted more game against Eldrazi..

The Jeskai sideboard isn't all that stretched. I am much more likely to run this card than a 4 mana wrath(which are rarely useful against Eldrai), you have to top deck it, if it's in your hand you lose it. Not where I want to be.
Well I guess you have a less diverse metagame then myself. Wrathing the board is back breaking for Eldrazi. Not sure how having a counterspell that doesnt counter anything (most of the time) is better then a wrath..
Agree with islandsarebroken, as mentioned- cavern of souls makes ceremonious rejection fairly hit and miss. Even if it sticks, countering one creature won't exactly be backbreaking as 20+ eldrazi creatures are played. Stubborn denial is also often sided in against control decks.
A wrath on the other hand will end games- taking out dorks, tramplers, scions all in one strike. TKS your supreme verdict or your ceremonious rejection? I know which I'd take.

Not sure what your meta is. I just competed in GP Guangzhou. 11-4 on Jeskai Nahiri (no byes) Top 50 finish. My list is on the WOTC website for reference.
I haven't found the Wraths particularly effective because as I've said, it needs to be a top deck because TKS can take it before you cast it and I've rarely found myself battling more than 1-2 big eldrazi. PTE, snap PTE plus something like this counterspell are going to have to do.
For reference you aren't that likely to have BOTH cavern AND Eldrazi temple. When you only have one of the two (which is most of the time) things are going to be a lot more fair. Supreme Verdict is the more likely card if one was going to run wraths but it's not all that great in other match-ups. You will run smack into this new counterspell and not have a cavern (a lot). When it's flashed back to counter the second Reality Smasher it will feel pretty bad.

Wouldn't it hurt if u only have that and can't counter an ancient stirrings? A spell we cast to search for cavern.
Imo, a hit all kinda spell would be much better in any deck.

Three mana leak anf multiple negates post board plus snapcaster. I think Eldrazi is a tough deck for us to face but i don't want to waste slots on the wrath and my pro points are showing that it's a valid way to approach the meta.

Not saying u should board in wraths. I just dun think jeskai should be sb a single type of counter spell just for colourless targets. Wouldn't u prefer spell snare or pierce?
I've been playing eldrazi on and off since I saw Todd Stevens run it and I can say that not one deck cares about that counter spell. Its just too narrow. What does jeskai do on turn 2 or 3 anyways that they can't keep up path or mans leak? As far as other decks it hits, I've had a lot of success and play experience with affinity and would much rather see that then the slew of hate cards jeskai can present. I haven't played tron but I'm sure they don't care either.
As far as your pro points go I got them sh*ts too but we both still posting in this forum.

But hey, ur the one w the pro points..
Pierce is unplayable in Jeskai Nahiri we aren't that low to the ground.
You might do well to consider that this card is a 10 against Affinity, a 9 against Tron and an 8 against Eldrazi in terms of power level. We bring it in against Eldrazi and when it's good, (which will be most of the time), it's really good. Against the other two decks it's one of the best answers we have at our disposal.

If you think Tron doesn't care that opponent has a 1 mana spell that counters their whole deck you are wrong, same with Affinity. I mana instead of two is a huge difference. Even two mana counters in modern are supposed to be very conditional but out of the side board against Affinity, Tron and Eldrazi this counters almost everything and at one mana you can cast Serum Visions, Lightning bolt or Path their T1 threat, suspend AV, etc. The card is insane.
Incredible how we went from "That Eldrazi deck that's running around" to "Tier 2", to being Tier 1 and decks warping their decks in order to beat Eldrazi. Just in a couple of months!

The card is too narrow. When eldrazi hits cavern then the card is dead. Do you really want to top deck this after turn 2 with a cavern across the table from you? I'd rather play verdict. As far as affinity goes, hurklys recall, spell snare, verdict, shatterstorm and stony silence are much better hate. Spell snare is also way more versatile but if you want to cram this in your 15 card sideboard more power to you.

I love it!
Is there anyone warping their decks to beat Eldrazi? None that I'm aware of. There are people running a card or two that hedge against certain decks but there aren't any decks "warped around" beating Eldrazi, at least not any good ones.
The metagame above all is changing because of Bant Eldrazi.
You see a decline in Jeskai(Probably Eldrazi's best matchup) and Jund(at least among pros). and an uptick in Abzan, which is better positioned against Bant than Jund.
Also, Death Shadow Aggro is going down a bit because Explosives destroys them and Bant typically plays around 3-4 between MB and SB. They were forced to play more Stony Silence.
Just wanted to point out the explosive rise of this deck.

Jund is the most popular deck in modern. Jeskai isn't all that scared against Eldrazi, it's a negative match-up but not that bad. It's not one of our worst match-ups if that's what you mean. I haven't seen a tick up in Abzan outside of a couple players at Worlds which means nothing if the actual meta doesn't go towards Abzan. Death's Shadow seems as popular as ever. They wouldn't just stop playing the deck because Eldrazi has explosives. Eldrazi is only a couple % of the meta game.

Take care buddy.
Pick and choose your stats...I guess.
Dredge is the most popular deck online but is close to non-existent in paper. What is Eldrazi in paper magic, GPs and such? 4% maybe?
