Yeah, I'd love to see a primer on this deck. I feel like I have a pretty good handle on what the stock list looks like, but the intricacies of flex spots and sideboard tech elude me at the moment.
Speaking of flex spots... I see that there's quite a bit of variability in the 2- and 3-drop spots (apart from Eldrazi Displacer, of course). I've seen a mix of Eldrazi Skyspawner, Matter Reshaper, Spellskite, and even Tarmogoyf there, and I'm wondering why there's such a relative lack of consensus. I'll start by saying that I don't like Spellskite in the mainboard of any deck other than Infect, especially one that's beatdown-oriented like this one is. Tarmogoyf is a bit more of a debate, but ultimately I'm not sure that I want to depend on the 'yard when Rest in Peace is one of the best cards this deck can bring in postboard. Thus, I'm leaning more toward the Eldrazi Skyspawner (which can help ramp out the bigger Eldrazi in a pinch) and Matter Reshaper tag-team. This is what I'm looking at as a preliminary 75:
My questions are whether anyone has any experience with Elder Deep-Fiend (which seems great, but I just don't have the reps to tell), and what tweaks could be made to the sideboard (I went counterspell-heavy, but that may not be the optimal call).
I just received news I can work on the primer, if you guys have tips or additions that should be included (hell even links to BANT Eldrazi videos etc.) all the help would be greatly appreciated!
Channelfireball seems to have alot article wise at the moment.
Pascal just posted a new one, and BBD posted a few very recently.

Lead the Stampede in the flexi spot as a 1 of has also been great so far.

I think you should consider some revisions to your mana base.
1) Cavern of Souls - with your back ground in Merfolk you would know that its useful for playing uncounterable creatures. In eldrazi getting your large cmc creatures countered hurts more then a small fish - thus I think its even more valuable in this deck for that ability alone. Further, in Eldrazi it is much more versatile as it allows you to cast all your Eldrazi whether they be U, W or G. Additionally you can cast your dorks off them if required (which is not at all uncommon). I think Cavern is a must as a 4-of even in a meta with less counterspells.
2) Fetchlands/painlands - I prefer 4x Windswept heath, breeding pool, temple garden, plains, forest with 3x Brushland, 2x Yavimaya coast - I dont know why you want less the 4x Windswept Heath? I think Adarkar wastes should be dropped completely. I personally run a Wastes and 2x Ghost Quarter atm for additional outs to Blood Moon and having more game against Tron/Valakut/Mirror (I completely understand why ppl wouldnt do this as it strains your coloured sources of mana - personally I havent had many issues - upside is worth it).
3) Birds of Paradise - Mana acceleration is key to this deck - 1x BoP is a must IMO. I wouldnt criticise a second actaully (although you start to get a little threat light with 6 dorks).
In regards to sideboard - I would try to sure up the matchups vs Affinity, Burn, Sui Zoo, Gruul Zoo, Dredge and the Mirror. I think at least 1x Worship (possibly 2x), lifegain cards (timely or blessed alliance), 3x Stony silence (two isnt enough to reliably draw 1 of them), 3x GY hate (I play 4x).
PrezN discussed 4x Chalice - I think this is a worthy consideration despite my reservations about that card. If I ran Chalice i'd cut stubborn denial (I think counterspells are not all that impactfull in Eldrazi anyway) and skites (as chalice hates on most of what skite does).
Finally, in regards to Elder Deep Fiend - I believe it saw some play just because it was a new card that ppl wanted to try (I was one of them). It showed up in zero copies in the top 64 GP lists from last weekend. Overall Drowner is just better most of the time..

Thanks, IslandsAreBroken. All of these tips are useful. I'll think about what to trim for 1-2 Birds (probably Eldrazi Skyspawner or Matter Reshaper), and finish out the playset of Cavern of Souls. I have my doubts regarding Chalice of the Void - shutting off your own Ancient Stirrings and Path to Exile seems like it's too high a price to pay. Lifegain cards to keep Burn at bay seems like a good idea, so I'll try to sneak some Blessed Alliances in there somewhere. Worship is great, but it's so heavy. I guess it doesn't hurt as a fun-of. Either way, I'll make some tweaks and come back with a revised list.
I've seem Thragtusk in some sideboards but it is easily splashable and has great synergy with Eldrazi Displacer so why not maindeck 1x over one of the 6-drops ?
seems like kitchen finks would be better than thragtusk when you need it, faster against burn and sticks better.
Due to budget concerns I've been playing corrupted crossroads instead of Cavern of Souls. This is sub par, but it has allowed me to play Kozilek's return in my sb which has been great. Return shores up affinity, infect, merfolk, tokens, 8-whack and a lot of the other go wide w/ small creatures decks, and it can also be found off stirrings. I know some other people have been using crossroads over cavern due to budget but has anyone else tried return in the sb? Or should we just stick to relying on worship.

I play both decks and i might be missing something but Cavern of Souls still a thing no?
It is. This is just a very sweet hoser that also works against other decks so expect to play against this. If you are drawing both Cavern and Eldrazi temple than great but if you only have one or the other things got a lot less busted.
So I read an article at the moment that was saying BANT ELDRAZI was the best "fair midrange" deck in Modern at the moment. I thought Jund was. Was tempted to build Jund but I might go the Eldrazi route if it is better. Wanted to know from this community what makes this deck just as good (if not better) than Jund, and why people are having trouble against the deck.

Fat creatures getting out on T2/3.
2 for 1 cards like matter reshaper/reality smasher.
Tribal protection from counterspells w cavern of souls
Soft combo w eldrazi displacer/drowner of hope.
Good tutor w ancient stirrings. Almost every card is colourless.
And lastly.. it's fun smashing people for 9 on t3.
Guys have you tested eternal witness as one-off? I test it now and it work great, with displacer it's insane (path to exile all turn)
It can bring back a drowner or tks, comes in play on reshapper trigger. The downside is it's not fetchable with ancient stirring...
Here's the link to the list Brian Braun-Duin played at Worlds this last weekend. He did really well with it and oh by the world is the new World Champion!
