What is the general consensus on Wild Nacatl in burn?
I seem super torn on it.... basically I would be cutting my two main board lightning helix, and shard volley for her. Worth it?
Like rothgar13 said, it hurts consistency at the cost of explosiveness. Several pages back there was a multi-page discussion on the merits of Nacatl. If you have an hour to kill, that's a good place to read both sides of the story and find a solid answer. I'd keep Nacatl in GR Aggro/Zoo rather than put it in Burn because it hurts the deck's ability to win without creatures.

I played it when I started with Burn but after a lot of testing I switched to Burn without it.
After the switch I started winning a lot more and a lot easier because of the consistency that the deck has.
Burn is all about consistency, that is in my opinion what makes Burn such a strong deck.

Looks like I have to put back at least 2x Molten Rain in the sideboard again for this.
For what? RG Titanshift? Molten Rain doesn't help when they Scapeshift for Valakut and 6 Mountains.
I was just thinking of slowing them down since we can cast it at T3 before they go off at their usual T4. But then yeah, this won't help much.
Your most likely target on T3 with a Molten Rain would be Cinder Glade or Stomping Ground. I think the best shots are Helix/Palm, but even with those you just delay it a turn until they play a mountain for the last 3 (though that's fine if you win first).
I just picked up affinity but I decided I will be playing burn at GP Los Angeles because I have much more experience with it. But I haven't really played it in a while so my list hasn't been updated since command and when I came back to magic I saw lists running nacatl
I'll try do so some more reading hut I'm probably not going to run it. Just seems like I'll be specifically fetching and shocking on turns 1 and turns 2 against a meta that will see a lot of burn and affinity. Plus I'll be phased when my opponent is at 3 and I top deck nacatl vs a burn spell
I'm still not sure if I like the Nacatl version. It just seems like I'd rather have more burn spells in place of it.
From my experience with Nacatl, I didn't like it. I played it for about 2 months every week 1-2 times. It was only OK to me. One of the other guys there was all about it though. So I'd say try it if you want to form your own opinion.
I am curious about Mutagenic Growth. What are its benefits as a SB card compared to others? What decks would we board them in for? An example of a more recent deck with it is Ross Merriam's top 8 placement in the Columbus classic (link here: http://mtgtop8.com/event?e=12170&d=269836&f=MO). While this list seems odd to me, it obviously worked in that meta. Just curious on some possible changes to my own list.

Despite it being good with Monastery Swiftspear and is free to cast, burn runs a very low number of creatures (12-14). Main or side, you could find it sitting in your hand very long if your board is empty. I don't know what others think about it, but surely, Mutagenic Growth doesn't belong to burn.

Mutagenic growth might be a sideboard option in some instances? Hell I am so rusty I really don't know. I personally don't think it would fit mainly for the reason that Xanthic posted.
Any suggestions for beating RG Titanshift? I've played a guy at my LGS on that deck 3 times and I'm 1-6 in games in those 3 matches. It's like he hits a Scapeshift the turn before he dies and the game is over every game.

I'd rather not answer it with an extremely narrow "ROFL, cute Valakut, I win" card like that, no. It's not like 4 of the 16 people that show up on Monday are playing this deck. It's one guy.

This is one of the match where Phyrexian Unlife is better than firewalker (+10 life if very hard for scapeshift to beat)

"What's your plan?" Gideon asked.
"Are you serious?" Chandra replied.
Burn putting up some good results again. Third place SCG modern but again a Burn deck with Wild Nacatl in it.
He should have made it to the finals but had a terrible game two I the semi finals and during game three he made a misplay that cost him the game.
But anyway seems like we still got it and we are still going strong!

He made two misplays in that 3rd game. The first was sacrificing a fetch without the ability to cast a Skullcrack if Nature's Claim happened, and it happened. The second mistake was that Joe was at 7 with a Wurmcoil and a Spellskite. He had DRev and Skullcrack in hand and 4 lands. He should have used the DRev as a fog on the Wurmcoil, instead of the Skullcrack on Wurmcoil and then the DRev for no reason on Spellskite. If Joe activates spellskite, game over (he pays 2, takes 2, and then skullcrack for the last 3). If he doesn't, Wurmcoil dies and he Skullcracks the next turn when the tokens attack, buying him one more draw step to win.
Burn misplays really does costs us games. The pressure sometimes clouds your computation and end up screwing the game. Learned it the hard way on my last GPs.

Well, I didn't win Game Day, but I won the moral victory. I had a tight game against Infect in the first round (he's usually my finals FNM opponent at the top table). This was the first time I've played him in several weeks, and the first time since I actually discovered how to play the match-up correctly. I lost game 1, I had him game 2 by keeping his creatures off the board, and we went back and forth game 3 until he eeked out a win with Distortion Strike on Inkmoth Nexus. After the tournament he told me none of his other matches were as interesting as the one we played.
Still a little disillusioned with Burn right now since I've been losing so much (I went 2-1 at Game Day but one of my wins was way too close). I wish there was a Burn montage of hype moments to get me back in the groove.
