I have tried Mina and Denn as a 1-of and I have had an overall positive experience with them. They are really great in the late game when you need to push the last bits of damage through. Hydra I am not 100% sold on, though I haven't tried it yet. What would we replace? I almost feel like it need something like Kessig Wolf Run to make it work better.

Hey guys long time no update for me in this forum. Been playing lots of 8rack recently
I have a few opinions with regards to nahiri and chandra
-nahiri is still a beast one is for the extra mainboard enchantment hate ability. Second is her ability to loot away dead cards against certain matchups g1. Really small bonus is it Allows me to play a one of emrakul as well just for extra surgical measures.
-chandra is useful and if i could figure out the right balance between chandra and nahiri i would play both. (Which i already do at a 3 nahiri 1 chandra tod split)
My main question is i sort of want to start splashing black instead of white. For fatal push in the mainboard and slaughter games in the sideboard. And any other black cards that might be useful.
I am just gonna miss the consistency that oath of nissa had provided me if i go this route.
Side note what do people think about renegade rallier for the splash white version?
Yes, but who would like to waste removal on a "do-nothing" 2/1 ?
It isn't a "do-nothing" if it helps you ramp into a Titan, is it? Plus, people will have dead removal in their hand (lightning bolt, fatal push) that they can't use on Sakura Tribe Elder or Titan, so it's an easy pick off.

I was against Tron, and on the play. T2 he casted sylvan scrying with 2 tron lands already in play so he would have T3 tron to drop Karn.
I uptap on T3, play my land, tap 3, exile 2 SSG, cast TTb, put down Woodfall Primus, destroy 1 tron land, attack for 6, sacrifice, persist, destroy the other tron land, he scoops. Feels good.
Idk guys I don't think you need ee, don't get me wrong it's good but I'm not sure this deck is where it shines. My sb is currently 4 chalice 4 leyline 2 relic (likely changing to rip) 2 rec sage 1 stony 1 grudge 1 pulse. I played vs ds (grixis) 1 of my rounds yesterday and was fine with 4 leyline 4 chalice 2 relic 1 pulse. In fact G3 I won with a hand of 5 lands (1 being molten) 2 search for tomorrow (1 was ts t1). Is it a great matchup no but it's def winnable.
In control scapeshift it might be fine but for this deck it isn't worth running in my opinion. Already sucks to have Glade in your opening hand with no other green sources. At least Glade can enter untapped.
I know the exiling is important, but this new card from Amonkhet could replace the Angers I run main, since you can cycle it away if they are bad in the matchup.
Sweltering Suns
1RR
Sorcery
Sweltering Suns deals 3 damage to each creature.
Are you guys mostly all in on the Chandra Torch of Defiance? I was thinking about ordering a few more before a tournament, but didnt know if the consensus is to run 3-4?
Has Courser taken a back seat to Tireless Tracker? Also wondering if Nahiri is useful without having to add Emrakul? I've always ran one Sacred Foundry, mostly for her.

If you're expecting a lot of Death Shadow or even Abzan I think Tireless Tracker is better right now. Once your hand has been decimated you'll want ways to draw cards.
I think if you're playing Nahiri you should have an Emrakul in there. That said, I don't think you should be playing Nahiri in RG Breach.

hey peeps. I've been playing RUG Omenshift for a long time, and RUG Scapeshift before that. I've had continued success, am very familiar with the deck & really like the utility & security of running 4x cryptic command (usually online by turn 3).
I recently had the opportunity to pick up 4x through the breach. how do this deck's matchups differ from the version i've been playing to success so far? Is it universally better or mostly a case of certain matchups being stronger & therefore giving it a better place in the metagame?
cheers guys.

Breach is more susceptible to discard but faster. It's quite volatile right now right especially with DS running around packing 8-10+ MB discards.
I am wondering whether 4 MB Chalices is still the right way to go. I haven't seen any lists recently putting up results
Played in a 60 man tournament recently with an old chalice/trapper/emrakul list and went 4-2. Placed 17th . Critical loss of the afternoon was against jeskai nahiri, valakut got ghost quartered and then surgical extracted. There's a lot of crumble to dust and surgical extraction flying around, I highly recommend playing around them when not under pressure. Fetching both valakuts off prime time even if it doesn't make sense, or playing both valakuts out of your hand, even at the expense of another play, are recommended. Basically try to get 2 on board so they can't grab them all with extraction effects.
Also, without going into too much detail, I feel titan shift is much better in this meta, there is too much discard flying around. Deck does well for me in smaller events, almost always going 3-1. But I don't feel great about playing it in larger events.
Chalice is still very good but inquisition/thoughtseize removes it sometimes. Still, sometimes you topdeck it or have multiples in hand, so I still recommend playing it as it pretty much wins games on its own. Not bad against grixis death shadow as it blocks stubborn denial, discard, and death shadow.

Thanks for the reply. I do think that Titanshift is better positioned now but I'm on breach at the moment for its speed and explosivity. I've been in the same boat as you as regards playing out both Valakuts ASAP, even on turns 1 and 2 and sacrificing my tempo just to avoid being blown out. Definitely feels bad. You can mitigate it with SB relic of progenitus (Exile in response to extraction) but it's not too elegant a solution.
Guess I'll stick with Chalice and see where it takes me.
I think I'm swapping over to Titanshift. Keeping the Breach and Titan/Pact in hand for more than a turn is becoming hard to do with so much discard flying around.
Any tips for playing vs death's shadow jund? I'm with naya breach right now and getting wrecked everytime against the jund version. I'm thinking about changing bolts to path to exiles mb and right now have 2x blessed alliance and 3 rip sib for this match.

The match up is very, very difficult. I played 10 rounds against my friend on DSJ the other day to test the match up and lost 7. The discard and clock is a little too much to handle. I've moved off Breach back to titanshift at the moment until the DS decks recede a bit in metagame share. That said, the rise of UW Control may swing the pendulum back in our favour
Why is this not even in the Developing Competitive sub-forum? It was just in T1 two months ago, and just placed 9th at GP Vegas for goodness sake. I had a hard time locating this thread.
Anyway, Zach Voss had 2 back-to-back good showings with Valakut Breach: 9th at GP Vegas just over the weekend and 23rd at SCG Charlotte.
I love this deck and run a similar build of the lists above
In the main deck I run the 3rd Chandra over Woodfall Primus (wich is the sideboard)
My current side board is
4 Chalice of the Void - just win games
2 Ancient Grudge - for affinity and lantern
2 Sudden Shock - Vizir Company and Infect
1 Reclamation Sage - Blood moon and leynile
3 Obstinate Baloth - Burn and ground games
1 Woodfall Primus - Tron, blood moon, leyline - very useful in any match up
2 Tireless Track - against control and slow decks
I can really see myself using 2 Ensnaring Bridge in te side board - it Wins games by itself
Maybe I´ll try Woodfall in te main deck, cut a Chrandra and cut a Tireless from de side board.
I dont really like the Pithing Needle it is really useful, but doesnt work well with the Chalices.
I may also cut the 2nd tracker to run the Chamaleon, I like to use 3 copys of Baloth, my meta is really aggro heavy and full of burn.
Any thoughts ?

Between the 2 events, 74/75 cards remained the same, with a Baloth being cut for Chameleon Colossus, no doubt for the DS matchups.
Would love discussion on his sideboarding decisions.
And please move this out of "Deck Creation".
