With a Tarmogoyf Deck winning the GP, and another Tarmogoyf Deck in the Top 8 is it time to bring Threads of Disloyalty back into the sideboard?
Threads of Disloyalty has never left my SB and it never will. Tarmogoyf is ALWAYS a threat and will always be there, it will never lose value or play-ability. Threads is a great card even against melira pod
Eager to try this one out.
I don't know about being so low on 2-mana counterspells, though, and having negate be our only 2-mana counterspell.
I mean I guess the removal suite is going to deal with creatures, but sometimes you want to counter creatures. Like I don't know how good this would be against the new Jund/Pod decks with Siege Rhinos.

This seems like something Guillaume Wafo-Tapa will play at the coming Modern Pro Tour, Crackling Dooms seems like a very good answer to the G/W Aura Decks.

The list looks cool, I just feel like I am going to miss mana leak & electrolyze.
I might cut a DTT for another electrolyze when I try it, electrolyze just seems like its rarely bad. Helps you make land drops, kills random creatures. Not great but not terrible against UR Delver. Also helps fuel DTT really well.

There's no Think Twice and Guillaume would never not play 4x Electrolyze. When Guillaume originally played 4 color and splashed for black, he did so for Esper Charm. The deck really has very few ways to get ahead on card advantage.
At least it gives the deck big game vs bogles and scapeshift which are historically bad matchups but they just seem like horrible cards in other matchups.

I would much rather just run Engineered Explosives and Spellskites against Boggles and Geist against Scapeshift. The only reason I would ever splash black in this deck is for Lingering Souls I think (I love that card), but I don't think it's worth it. Blood Moon is a thing.

If I was going to splash black it would be for Esper Charm imho. Here's my latest incarnation:
I really like the black splash, for Crackling Doom and Slaughter Games alone. Nothing mainboard.
If you alter your mana base correctly, and recognize that you have countermagic and answers to blood moon at your disposal, the tiny splash for the 4th color is awesome. Though, it certainly isn't for everyone. I chose to splash black because Bogles in my area is Naya, running Leylines main and 3-4 Grudge in the board, making skite and traditional edicts pretty awkward at times. Combining this with the fact that they run 6-8 totem armors has led me to crackling doom, and it has been quite the powerhouse. It also can kill Geist and Etched Champion at instant speed. Slaughter Games is a massive powerhouse versus Scapeshift, Twin, Living End, and even the mirror (naming Cryptic or Snapcaster depending on the scenario). I have also named Lingering Souls against tokens (more as an experiment), Gravecrawler against Dredgevine, Gifts Ungiven, and Karn against Tron with Path backup for Wurmcoil. But the applications to Twin and Scapeshift alone are worth it to me.
I also like that I have good graveyard hate now with black, such as Nihil Spellbomb and potentially (on a super greedy day) Leyline of the Void. I like being able to keep Snap and Dig in tact!
Esper Charm is a card I'd love to have on color... Though, if pod has the resurgence it had in Madrid, I'm afraid cutting Tectonics will end up making us lose a lot of games against Gavony Township, which sucks. I might try a black splash next time I have a chance though. Now that we have all fetches, it's a matter of finding a correct mana base to do it, I've been playing only 2 Cryptics and have seen people without it entirely (I usually cut it against Delver, for example).
I'm struggling to find space for 1 Tec Edge with the Black Splash, but I can't justify cutting any of my lands. This is the one regret I have with running the 4th color.

Without tec edge, do you have any Game 1 plan against Tron? Believe it or not, Tron could easily adapt to this meta (4 Wurmcoils, Thragtusk/Skite/Dragon's Claws in the SB) and make a resurgence. The one deck that would keep me from playing my Tron list at a larger tournament is I don't have an answer for Ascendancy, but as long as Delver and Burn are everywhere I don't really need to worry about JA showing up...

I've been wondering exactly why Tron isn't showing up. Seems like plenty of cards, like Platinum Angel or should give Tron a decent matchup against UR Delver. The decks don't really run countermagic, not like the old version.
Tron is bad against fast decks. It has a chance landing a turn 3 Wurmcoil, but that doesn't always happen. It really shines in grindy metagames, but gets overrun by aggro pretty easily (proof of that is that they used to run 4 pyroclasm maindeck for Affinity, to stand a chance G1)

I still run 4x Pyroclasm and 4x Oblivion Stone, always have, and the only aggro matchup that is tough for me is Merfolk (I have historically bad luck with that deck).
Also, all Tron lists run 4x Nature's Claim in the SB, which helps quite a bit against Burn and Delver (you target your own trinkets to gain life if need be).
EDIT: I guess I shouldn't say Merfolk is the only 'tough' aggro matchup. I have a losing percentage against Merfolk, against Affinity I am closer to 50/50 or 60/40. Zoo can be tough but they have a tough time with Wurmcoil (Affinity has flyers and Merfolk has Islandwalk).

Scapeshift.
Scapeshift is indeed a tough one. Sundering Titan/Slaughter Games or bust
I'm sort of curious about this deck. I got into modern seriously via the combination of "oh, wafo tapa played Esper and did well with it, maybe control isn't dead" and "oh look, onslaught fetchlands" and I have esper pretty much together. I've been looking at throwing UWR together for some variety, but I don't have the snapcasters. How necessary IS snapcaster for UWR control? Can I get by with just a pair of them, or do I need to fork out for more copies?
