So just as a quick question for everyone, does everyone agree that for sideboard, Destructive Revelry is better than Wear // Tear, because i am currently running mardu/dega burn and i am not sure whether or not the additional splash for green will be better or will it hinder me
As for your experience with twin, 2 things. 1) if your opponent was at 1 when he flashed in exarch all you needed to do was tap your black source in response and use charm after it comes into play. 2) es combust is nice, but literally no different than rakdos charm at being effective when you have 2 land sources. What you have to do is learn how to play the MU optimally. For example I ALWAYS get 2 black sources in the MU first because of that exact reason, also I take out all creatures except for lavamancer if its not the tarmotwin vs and priiritize instants and play a draw go style Where you alwqys pkay your spells on there turn thus leaving up all your mana.
So I played a TNM at a local store with the previously posted burn deck and went 3-1. lost to Splinter Twins, purely because of being a newbie to Modern format.

Touch and go, really. Adding Green does cause a considerable strain on the mana base, especially if you're solely reliant on a single green source. It can also be worse than Wear // Tear when playing around Spell Snare or Spellskite.
I like running it myself, as it's a decent out to Leyline of Sanctity that also deals damage. Still haven't done extensive testing on how the mana base works out with it, but running RWBg has somewhat forced me into running Gemstone Mine to allow more green sources that can cast Bump in the Night or Boros Charm.

so this is my current sideboard for the current meta, my local meta at home has an aura hexproof deck and soul sisters deck so you can understand a few of the cards there.
Has anybody tried Slagstorm? Seems like a solid compromise but as a consequence it could just be a weaker version of both.
Slagstorm isn't a very good card for burn, doesn't deal damage to our opponent, and doesnt exile finks or other persist creatures. Volcanic Fallout and Anger of the Gods are much better choices imo
Anybody tried running Duress or Inquisition? Or is it just a really bad Thoughtseize, and something that shouldn't even be considered?
Duress and Inquisition just take up space in burn, we don't care about what they are doing most of the time, and they don't deal damage to our opponent, it takes up space for any other burn spell.
All right, gents. Tell me what you think. First brew. I played the 1-of Pyromaster because I think all of her abilities are solid and I play the 20th land instead of a spell, so I figured it might work?
So I played a TNM at a local store with the previously posted burn deck and went 3-1. lost to Splinter Twins, purely because of being a newbie to Modern format.
I didn't forget them, as this is a purely Rw list. I have been experimenting with Rwb but still finding it less consistent. Primarily because you take more self damage from fetching shocks to mana fix, and other fast decks use that to get in a win.
Also 12 fetches seems like to much self damage to me, 4-6 would maybe be my ideal max, from my experience so far.
Question, what is the difference between Arid Mesa, Bloodstained Mire and Wooded Foothill. There seems to be little to none, as, every card we fetch has "mountain" on it. So playing 4-8 fetches, does it really matter which one is played?
Flames of the Blood Hand seems poor cost wise. 4 damage for 3cmc doesn't seem comparable to other cards in the list, or, am i missing something major?
Also, for games vs control/3 colour mid range ect is it worth having a 1 of Blood Moon in the SB?
Edit: Realized I had the wrong SB on the list, here is the correct one
Flames of the Bloodhand = Skullcrack 5-8. There is so much life gain in my meta so I MB 1 Leyline of Punishment and 3 in the SB. I gave up on Flames, its a really good card, just most of the time im stuck on 2 lands
Hi, I'm primarily a twin player, but brought burn to a GPT yesterday as I thought the meta would be full of Abzan and Tron (and also just to have fun playing another deck). I went 3-2 and missed the cutoff for top 8 ending up #9.
Win R/W Burn 2-1 (Draw without creatures lost me the 2nd game)
Win Big Zoo 2-1 (Lost to Kor Firewalker in 2nd game)
Lose Affinity 0-2 (Lost the 2nd game because I neglected bolting my opponent on the first turn, eventually needing that last point of damage)
Lose Merfolk 0-2 (No chance of winning at all)
Win Abzan 2-0 (Yep, good matchup is good)
I had a lot of fun piloting this deck as there are many moments where you had to think really hard and you will lose to very minor gameplay mistakes.
My only problem with burn as a deck is that there are unwinnable cards (Kor Firewalker) and unwinnable matchups (Affinity, Sisters, Merfolk).
I'd probably just keep the deck in cold storage and bring it out when I feel like having some fun, as I find it a more challenging deck to play than Twin. I don't really like it as a default deck to play because of the matchups where you simply cannot win no matter how well you pilot the deck (unlike twin).
I keep a couple of Engineered Explosives in the sideboard for Kor Firewalker, it's also not too shabby against Affinity and Zoo. I also have two copies of Shattering Spree that trades a one-for-many against Affinity. I am just curious, how is Merfolk and Affinity bad matchups for Burn?

I always found merfolks to be a easy matchup, but the white version that splashes for thalia can get a bit tricky.
My friend plays affinity and we play against each other every day like 4 times a day, and the matchup isn't THAT hard, like a 40/60 matchup. But most affinity pilots make tons of misplays as it is probably the hardest deck to play in modern.

I did very *****ty today, 3-4. Lost to Affinity, Junk, Mono-R Burn and Fish. Beat Storm, RG Tron and Infect.
Rakdos Charm and Deflecting Palm were fantastic, the palm was utterly bonkers. All won games were 2-0, all lost games were 1-2, the deck is fine but either I was stupid unluky or we have a math problem with 19 lands producing a ridiculous ammount of flood but 18 land often failing to drop a second land turn two.
Bump was ***** as well, having to bolt myself for the Charms, Palm or Rain of Gore, is good, having to bolt myself to bolt not so much, it just felt akward all day and I don't know what to replace it with.
Now that my ban has expired I would like to ask you guys for help with my main problem with the deck: What the actual hell am I supposed to d against Soul Sisters? Is this just an instant-lose matchup for us or can it be won with the right sideboard cards? A friend of mine that I play again quite often has Soul Sisters and I literally lose like 95% of all games against him. I've tried 4 Skullcracks and 4 FotBH main and still didn't stand a chance. Not even Leyline of Punishment helped. Halp me pls!!

Well is leyline didn't work thats pretty much your best tool except maybe rain of gore, I would say the best way to play it is to bolt martyr whenever they don't have the mana to sac it and try to ride creatures to victory. You are most likely not going to get there with a "pure burn hand" and need the creatures to consistently do the damage.

My problem is that as soon as they get Auriok Champion I just lose, because she can't be bolted and can chump our dudes for eternity... :/
Edit: It's also not a Martyr deck but a Soul Sisters deck without Martyr and with 12 Soul Sisters, a lot of tokens and Archangel of Thune. I know it sounds weak, but I always, always lose.

So I think i will expand the does this look?
2x Searing Blaze
1x Searing Blood
3x Shard Volley
4x Skullcrack
Sorcery (8)
4x Lava Spike
4x Rift Bolt
4x Eidolon of the Great Revel
4x Goblin Guide
2x Grim Lavamancer
4x Monastery Swiftspear
Land (20)
4x Battlefield Forge
8x Mountain
4x Sacred Foundry
4x Wooded Foothills
2x combust
2x kor firewalker
2x Leyline of Punishment
4x Molten Rain
2x Shattering Spree
1x stony silence
2x Wear / Tear
I have considered dropping the 4 Battlefield Forge for 4 Bloodstained Mire to give more land etb as well as exile bait for lavamancer
Also i was messing about with Rwb list, but whats the general feel? I find sometimes it is faster, other times it seems to fizzle due to its mana base
Thanks for any feedback,

I would cut the 4 Battlefield forge and a few mountains and sacred foundry for some Arid Mesa and Bloodstained Mire also Rain of Gore isn't as effective as it sounds because of Abrupt Decay I would use Flames of the Blood Hand also I think you forgot add a Blood Crypt which lets you play Bump in the Night
