Hey what do you think about him? It has obvious synergy with Overseer and Ravager
Sure has some synergy but ultimately seems underwhelming. More often than not, it'll be a 1/1 for 2 with no evasion that leaves behind 1 (maybe 2-3 max) 1/1 thopters when it dies. If I'm gonna spend 2 mana on something, it'll be something that puts pressure on the opponent (Rav, overseer or spellskite for pressure on removal). It looks really meh to me.
The one thing to keep in mind with that card is the fact that Overseer puts counters on it, and Arcbound can as well....
Might actually be good vs. Shatterstorm. If you have this and an Arcbound Ravager in play, Shatterstorm becomes "turn all artifacts an opponent controls into 1/1 Thopters"
Might be worth testing. It probably isnt very good, but not just outright bad which is a plus
1. Eat a bunch of stuff make a 4/4 or 5/5 ravager.
2. When they remove ravager make a 5/5 or 6/6 Hangarback
3. Cast another ravager eat Hangar and make a 7/7 ravager.
Step 3 is just for lols but can be replaced with lots of things. The point is that you will be able to threaten, and follow through with, ravager plays while being able to go wide too.
It's a shame this guy isn't X/X+1 so we could finally replace memnite....
I think this guy is going to easily find a place in affinity's 75.
Ya it wouldn't really make any sense to cut Master for him as master has so much synergy with him. But he makes removal so bad against us, and like an above poster mentioned we really wouldn't get blown out from sweepers as easily.
I really like this card (days undoing) and actually plan on coming back to affinity because of it. I like the idea of dumping our hands and then restocking when we cast it. really like the XX guy too but he would need some serious testing but it seems good in the mid-ish game and works well with double ravager and or overseer.
I think it is awesome for people who'll want to make a budget version as a replacement for Master of etherium but other than that, it is a stricly worst Master. Sure he doesn't need colored mana but if you're at 3 anyway, chances are you have either glimmer, island, opal or springleaf anyway so it isn't a problem.
How are people sideboarding against Grixis Control/Delver? I'm essentially looking at it like Jund and expecting to see at least 2 dudes with 5 toughness on the board very quick, and a lot of burn/removal to back them up.
How did Day's undoing ramp up the price of Ravager?
It hasn't. Modern staples accros the board have been spiking in price since the past few weeks. The most recent one was Grove of the Burnwillows, which is now at $65 on tcgplayer mid. It looks like Arcbound Ravager might be next.
I thought I had looked last week and it was still at $20 on SCG. A lot of cards spiked after the Modern weekends, like Lili and Snappy are both $100 now. I didn't notice a change in Ravager's pricing then, but possible I just missed it. Seemed like it increased in time w/the new artifact guy
@Grixis matchups: these games are tough but beatable. Ensure your hand can cast huge threats by t2 or that you can flood the board with threats. K-command main hurts us a lot, but we can survive 1-2. Ensure that etched champion has pro, especially when they have tasigur or gurmag. I find arcbound ravages modular onto etched the best way to beat them. Our manlands are bad in this matchup. Most Grixis decks run 2 k-commands, 4 LB, and 1-2 terminates in the MB.

He's being hyped enough to drive the price of Ravager up $15 overnight.

Jesus. I bought my foil ones at that price.
